my fluence is clocking 500km, so far no major issue. 1 minor issue is on the aircond sound. amazingly, fluence has 8 fan speed. the noise starts at speed 3 and above... so, just imagine when we use the auto button, the noise is loud enough until you can barely speak with the passenger. pressing the auto button will get you to max speed during noon. at night, it will set you at 4 or 5 for a short while.

on other note, I tried searching on the web on other reviews, although all reviews are positive but there aren't that many reviews about fluence. some negative review are due to "not following the standard", like:

1- why the front bonet and start button is on the left side instead of right, close to the driver?
2- why the cruise control button are located at the hand brake?

after using it for few weeks now, I don't find it troublesome at all. simply because it is still available for use. it like when you are moving into a new house, you have to change and adjust to it. you don't blame it for not being "old standard".

especially on the front bonet button, you only use it when you are having problem with the engine. I am pretty sure that you usually use it when your car is not moving.

even on the start button, it is not a trouble at all to find it.

so, I see the point but I don't mind at all... I am still a happy owner...

HI guys! Is the Fluence have a good fuel comsuption when compared with 408 as it is a smaller engine 1.6. And can you guys give me some unique points in this car than 408.

apart from expensive tyre replacement when it got burst ( have to change 2 tyres coz the stock tyre is close to 2 new tyres price and hard to find outside)  i guess there is nothing much. Just done first service about a month ago.

1st Service is at 10k, is this the same to all conti or Nissan in this particular?
My elantra have lower service periods, 1k, 5k etc...

Owned the car for 10 months now,prefacelift version.
Problems so far :
1. Break pedal squeak sound during pedal depressed/released..so far ok n under monitoring after 2nd fix...
2. Air con compressor noise when compressor is turned on. Only last for 1-2 sec then noise will gone. Will ask them to check in 2nd service.
3. Short weird whistling noise(last for ~3 secs) from engine bay after 1-2 hours highway drive under hot weather (32 celcius or above), normally happened when leaving toll (slow down to below 20 km/h and start acceleration again). Already lodge report.
4. Very faint squeaking noise from rear left passenger seat when someone take that seat and car cruising on bumpy road.

Any one face similar issue?

After the PG trip, the fc reduced further to 11.6l/100km... With the mileage still below 4k, I assume this will go down even further in due time, if I made more long distance trips.

But my radiator fan is quite noisy, you guys don't have?

what i worry is the electronic part haha. those part usually 1 year warranty? or 5 years?

BTW is the Fluence drive like the sylphy in terms of ride and handling? I wonder why Renault Malaysia offer us this engine and gearbox from Nissan as they have Sylphy which is a rival to it also selling here.Is there any contradiction between Renault-Nissan.At least sell different engine like the 1.5dci that was available in sg and india.
