Its a nice car to drive, with all the full equipment and safety features, beat most of the c segment cars with the price as well. For a honda or toyota to come with these kind of equipment need way more price than RF. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

my fluence is clocking 500km, so far no major issue. 1 minor issue is on the aircond sound. amazingly, fluence has 8 fan speed. the noise starts at speed 3 and above... so, just imagine when we use the auto button, the noise is loud enough until you can barely speak with the passenger. pressing the auto button will get you to max speed during noon. at night, it will set you at 4 or 5 for a short while.

on other note, I tried searching on the web on other reviews, although all reviews are positive but there aren't that many reviews about fluence. some negative review are due to "not following the standard", like:

1- why the front bonet and start button is on the left side instead of right, close to the driver?
2- why the cruise control button are located at the hand brake?

after using it for few weeks now, I don't find it troublesome at all. simply because it is still available for use. it like when you are moving into a new house, you have to change and adjust to it. you don't blame it for not being "old standard".

especially on the front bonet button, you only use it when you are having problem with the engine. I am pretty sure that you usually use it when your car is not moving.

even on the start button, it is not a trouble at all to find it.

so, I see the point but I don't mind at all... I am still a happy owner...

haha.... when you get your car? you bought facelifted 1? Yea.... need to get used to it..... but i think its ok.... for the price..... maybe korean car can make a good transition from LHD to RHD, but then their chassis and their safety standard still lose out to European cars.... and I am talking bout Fluence with reliability of Japanese Engine and the safety features of European standard... yea.... give or take..... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

HI guys! Is the Fluence have a good fuel comsuption when compared with 408 as it is a smaller engine 1.6. And can you guys give me some unique points in this car than 408.
*
I think the after sales packages is the best compare to 408, and with the reliability of Nissan engine compare to a pure European engine, these where Fluence stand out (but if u look for more excitement, take the 408 1.6 turbo), i personally never drive 408 so I can't compare the fuel consumption but my experience was 7l/100km on city driving and 11.5l/100km on highway driving..... fuel consumption is decent i think for a 2.0 car and with such heavy body for this car.... considering the 408 1.6 is come with turbo.... its hard to compare...... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

apart from expensive tyre replacement when it got burst ( have to change 2 tyres coz the stock tyre is close to 2 new tyres price and hard to find outside)  i guess there is nothing much. Just done first service about a month ago.
*
oooh, cool..... the first service you ask them to pick up or you drive to their SC? Service good?

1st Service is at 10k, is this the same to all conti or Nissan in this particular?
My elantra have lower service periods, 1k, 5k etc...
*
even Peugeot 408 also first service at 10k, i wonder is it asian cars need constant service? which always starting from 1k.... lol....

Owh... really?

So, major part is Nissan then. Meaning, I can go to any tyre shop with Nissan configuration for tyre alignment?
*
I doubt they share the nissan platform, i think the heart is Nissan, the body is Renault, you just look only at the physical design is already far off from Nissan designed vehicles, so the alignment wont be the same as well i guess... Why dont you do it in Renault/Nissan SC? smile.gif smile.gif

Owned the car for 10 months now, prefacelift version.
Problems so far :
1. Break pedal squeak sound during pedal depressed/released..so far ok n under monitoring after 2nd fix...
2. Air con compressor noise when compressor is turned on. Only last for 1-2 sec then noise will gone. Will ask them to check in 2nd service.
3. Short weird whistling noise(last for ~3 secs) from engine bay after 1-2 hours highway drive under hot weather (32 celcius or above), normally happened when leaving toll (slow down to below 20 km/h and start acceleration again). Already lodge report.
4. Very faint squeaking noise from rear left passenger seat when someone take that seat and car cruising on bumpy road.

Any one face similar issue?
*
Compare to other C segment cars... this is consider lesser problem.... especially against the other conti cars when you look at their forum.... like everyday need maintenance haha.....

After the PG trip, the fc reduced further to 11.6l/100km... With the mileage still below 4k, I assume this will go down even further in due time, if I made more long distance trips.
*
usually the fc will get lower during long distance trips, mine dropped until 10.6 before, but that is only applicable for full highway drive with the whole fuel tank, once involved city drive, the FC bcum 11 and above..... haha.... overall.... a bit too comfortable.... doesnt feel like the car is moving.... might fall asleep... the engine sound soooo quiet..... tongue.gif tongue.gif

hi all, thinking of getting the facelift'ed fluence..any good? heard quite many negative comments about it....need advice...thank you thank you...
*
yea... share with us the few bad points... but yea... depends on what you really wants.... you wanna buy it just to sell it back out after 5 years warranty or for longer term... if longer term... this car with japanese reliabilities and european safety features won't let you down after all..... and for your concern, no cars have no negative comments hahah.... even mazda 3, civic, altis, 408, they also have negative comments.... cheers~ tongue.gif tongue.gif

Can anyone tell me what is the current promo on the Fluence with the discount price.

BTW is the Fluence drive like the sylphy in terms of ride and handling? I wonder why Renault Malaysia offer us this engine and gearbox from Nissan as they have Sylphy which is a rival to it also selling here.Is there any contradiction between Renault-Nissan.At least sell different engine like the 1.5dci that was available in sg and india.
*
Not really sure on their strategy on this.... but then.... other than compare against slyphy on the powertrain, the rest totally two different world already... only the heart is nissan, the whole body is french.... with a Megane platform on it, it is a more enjoyable ride i think compare to Slyphy from the experience last time when i test drove both cars. Slyphy is just a expensive version of Almera with better engine and better equipments.... However, considering that TC need to gif out the 5 years free of services and parts does not come cheap also.... thats where they dare to prove their confidence on Renault fluence.... if the car really brokedown frequently, they need to bear the cost also..... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

I think they are offering free one year installment, and maybe extra discount for the pre-facelifted Fluence up to 20k i think... as for the Expression and Dynamique, need to depends on the SA personal discount...

The discount is getting so attractive for the pre-race lifted model? I chose this model too because of the more discount. The package is attractive.
*
No choice... the pre face lift no one will buy it without excessive discounting..... most of it very old stocks already kept at warehouse... they need to clear it first before giving more discount for the current models... but yea... the package is the most attractive no matter which c segment cars you compare against.... tongue.gif tongue.gif
