Hey guys, what's the difference between the 3 specs of Renault Fluence? Can't really spot the major differences..

To be honest, you buy a car to drive, not to sell it after x number of years. So to me, resale value is not a concern. However, I am more concern like any other Malaysian drivers - the maintenance, repairing and spare parts cost.

Recently, I just learnt that the spare parts are actually from Nissan? Do correct me if I am wrong.

I would appreciate if anyone could roughly breakdown the maintenance, repairing, and spare parts cost so that I can compare it to those Japanese cars.

How is the day to day fuel consumption for the Fluence eh? The SC say it's around 13 km/l or 7.7l/100km but I always kena fuel consumption always higher than quoted.

Am thinking of grabbing one of the promo cars (they say it's display car, I think it's actually new stock they can't sell) since this car gives me the opportunity to tolak my car & still not lose much.

The test drive cars doesn't really inspire confidence - the one in PJ is so worn out.

Super good deal, but buy 2nd hand need to paid 6%GST, after that and those insurance also come to 60K, but quite a good deal as this price can get C sec conti car.

But of course is not the latest design, so no those fancy LED day light, btw, is it possible to modified it to those LED day light ? haha .

Planning to change car, Renault fluence offer now is tempting. Test drive once, but just a short distance, going back few pages here, still cannot decide. Hahaha
By the way, the salesman told me the offer is not showroom car but new car, is the guy know what he is talking about?

Yeah, got it on promotion.

So far 1 week everything is going well. The car just glides on the road & makes it easy for me to drive economically. But I do note that the TomTom map is old, a lot of roads are not updated.

Would love to have R-link Store access to explore some of the free apps available.

The Cerato I think is 2 grand cheaper? Specs wise not sure but Cerato has 6 airbags and 8 inch sat nav system as standard.

Dont know that only civic is the other car (on this price range i suppose?) have the wal-away auto lock future. When I use other car I seem to forget to lock the car, especially with my wife Preve.

Hi guys, hope this thread is still active.

I am an owner of a Fluence, 2016 FL model with 58k on the clock. Was just wondering whether the rest of you are having these, admittedly minor issues with the car:

1) When going through some potholes, the right rear of my car seems to "thump" louder. I do not know whether its due to me changing to 215/55/R17 tires, or my imagination. There would be no noise when going through most potholes..just the deeper ones. Sent the SC, and they reported in the "report card" that there are no issues with my undercarriage and suspension system

2) annoying "tick" sound in the passenger foot area, when brakes are pressed. SC said it's normal.

3) some annoying little rattle sound from, i think, the B pillar. I am a bit OCD in rattling sound so this one is driving me a bit mad, even though for a car with 50k kms and driving everday on our badly-maintained roads, it's normal.

4) when going though bumps at a certain angle, there would be some creak sound coming from the back doors.

Otherwise, more importantly, the mechanical parts of the car are good.

Hope there are still Fluence sifus around to advise on the above.
