i just updated my iphone 6 to 8.1.3

idling battery life is 1% for 2 hours

but it seems like my wifi dont work when i didnt on the screen for about 1 hour

if i just put my phone aside and watch a movie, there will forever be no incoming message until i open the lockscreen page and all messages flush in

Updated a couple of days ago when I read about the release on Ars Technica. Did the OTA method since I hate iTunes and won't use it unless absolutely necessary.

So far, nothing bad. Performance is pretty much the same on my 6 (4.7"). They didn't mention it in the release notes, but that camera bug where I sometimes didn't hear the shutter sound effect seems to be resolved.

Other than that, no change. The stock weather app still exhibits that Samsung-esque lag whenever I switch countries from the list view >_>

My battery life has been good since I got the phone (touch wood) but I'll probably drain it to 0% tonight and do a full recharge and reset to recalibrate the battery meter.

u download the wrong ipsw for your 5s. there are either "Global" or "GSM" version. verify which version is your iPhone model then redownload

I bought my 5s from Maxis. My phone model is A1530. I check few website bout this and A1530 is GSM firmware. Already downloaded GSM firmware and when I try to restore, got that error. Or is GLOBAL is the correct firmware for iPhone bought in Malaysia?

your downloaded ipsw show iPhone6,2 or iPhone6,1 in its name? A1530 should be iPhone6,2.

if u download iPhone6,1 just choose another one with iPhone6,2

Not sure if this is an iOS topic or iPhone 6 Plus topic. When I upgraded to 8.1.3, I noticed the little arrow indicator (location services in use) always appear... and when I check in the privacy section its the "motion calibration"... is this common?

Sorry, I was coming from Android previously, so not quite understand iOS update stuff. What I do is I press restore at iTunes page, then prompt out a back up alert so I press ok to back up and proceed with restore. Is this correct method for clean restore?

normal restore is u restore your phone with previous backup. clean restore is u download ipsw then restore your phone to clean state.

clean restore is done by pressing "shift" plus click on "restore" button concurrently, then choose ipsw u download before. clean restore is like u reflash full rom using fastboot for android phone, u should be know what is fastboot flashing since u r from android.

download correct ipsw otherwise the clean restore process wont be proceed

done update manually thru itunes last night

still under monitoring

will use until low battery and complete 1 full cycle charge to see the battery performance. if not good, then i might try to downgrade to 8.1.2 (if apple still open it)
