QUOTE(dokidoki @ Jul 17 2006, 10:59 PM) ok...i red the manual as well...it say the IS will be available when low light situation which will compensate ur shaking hand that make pic blur~...guess it's just actually max up the iso to make this IS feature~ i dun really find the pics are like iso boosted, usually pics with iso boosted will be like noisy, but k800i pics 2 me are like smudged(IMO) well, note the manual said: pic reso will be @ 2000*1500 instead of the usual 2048*1536 if ImageStabilizer is available, so far the shots i took is not @ 2000*1500.. any owners mind doin a field test? c'mon show what cybershot have 2 offer ma!!! XD just my 2cents. lol |

Here's a link. to GSMArena's article about the K800.
And I quote QUOTE The camera sports an image stabilizer which is only used in video recording mode. Let us just say that the term "video recording support" would be the most suitable one when describing the video capturing capabilities of the handset. The thing is that the video camera shoots in the ancient QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels) at 15 fps which is far outdated and is more than useless really. I guess this settles it. Bestpic for pictures, and image stabilizer for video. Of course, the video sucks. I wish they had used a newer format. Like H.26xx . Well you can't win 'em all. |

so in K800 there's no image stabilizer for still photo taking?
Misleading marketing, the manual and the release news by SE is VERY misleading. I was so excited with K800 having image stabilizer when digital camera makers like Canon just started including IS in new products. |

Sony website.
akxj is right. Sony Ericsson's official website specifically states QUOTE Enhanced imaging So which is correct? I guess now's the time for actual k800 owners to run through their manual and settle this? Dokidoki or any other K800 owners, mind testing your phone in dark areas to test to see if image stabilizer really kicks in ?A built-in xenon flash unit gives you real photographic light where lighting conditions are not optimal and K800i eliminates red eye making sure that the pictures you take are simply the best. A camera stabilizer function compensates any small movement of your hand when you're taking a picture and shooting video. This post has been edited by +Newbie+: Jul 18 2006, 04:37 AM |
