Selangor, actually, but my EMS and SAL parcels pass through KLIA while FedEx and DHL through Subang. And you're right; Amazon Japan uses DHL actually.
But I never had to go through customs inspection twice for that matter. Didn't know Penangites had to go through KLIA and Butterworth inspections. Just curious; ever had any parcels that passed KLIA but was held or flagged at Butterworth?
But anyway, at this moment the greatest worry I have is having my Toranoana books destroyed because of teeny-tiny upskirt shot/boob slip on the cover of the books, I don't worry much about importing figures anymore.
Figures are just fine as long they are not too skimpy or naked which is visible from outside the box itself. But I never had to go through customs inspection twice for that matter. DHL and Fedex parcels go straight to Penang Airport and customs, they skip the KLIA. That alone saves 1 day of shipping time.
All parcels via SAL or EMS headed for the north (Penang and Kedah) go through KLIA customs and then Butterworth customs, hence wasting another day. Usually if your content passes KLIA but is held at Butterworth, it's usually because of taxes being applicable. You cant expect someone from Penang to go down to KL right? I'm not that worried about Matsuri because she is well dressed and the optional parts are wrapped up. My Saeki Ai (which was bared on the top) was also wrapped in opaque plastic material to cover the boobs, but her pose is indeed more questionable than Matsuri lol.
Books are indeed a concern; whether they are opened for inspection or not depends on luck. My medical textbooks were inspected before (from Amazon USA) but i believe it is due to the value of RM700 in total (Books are exempted from taxes). My sister's piano books in a separate shipment were not opened though.
