QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Jul 18 2014, 06:17 AM) I see. Do you know which particular ones?ok I have disable some apps, now phone starts at around 385-400MB free. *update: restarted phone and do the clear memory thing, waited for awhile, now it hovers around 420+MB consistently. Uninstalled certain google apps that I don't need, and disable some other, will see if affects normal operation of the phone. This post has been edited by xperiaVuser: Jul 18 2014, 06:59 AM |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jul 18 2014, 07:14 AM) Have not gone the root way yet, where some apps can be disable more. So far uninstalls and apps that be disabled. Can't remember which google apps, but apps that remained in the google folder is gmail, maps, play music, google settings, voice search and drive, youtube. Uninstalled chrome and using dolphin as browser. MiTalk uninstalled. Removed the google search widget on the homescreen. Disabled exchange services, weather. 5 apps in auto-start. That's all I can remember off the top of my head... This post has been edited by xperiaVuser: Jul 18 2014, 09:01 AM |

Delete drive it will helps... I will try again today as I delete those useless Google's apps just now...
Going to seremban, will use waze, whatsapp and CoC to try out... It should be better as I have about 400MB after restart, tried to cleared the ram a few times so I guess that is the optimized ram usage without root... BTW on my Mi3 which I deleted those apps long ago also cannot get 50% free ram... mostly system hogging the ram, running around 800MB free only for sometime already... Antivirus can turn off install monitor, cloud virus definition and updates too. Then I believe have to root, and remove stuff like the xiaomi service framework etc. If not remove, at least freeze it first to be safe. This post has been edited by xperiaVuser: Jul 18 2014, 09:09 AM |

I found out that the main culprit to the slow speed is the Global rom, after changing to non global rom it's much smoother.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jul 17 2014, 11:46 PM) not due to 1G RAM, but is the MIUI system problem... Since u have most of the great budget devicedon trust me ask ur fren which have Mi3, always used RAM is around 1.2G after clear... i think u r such a easy customer to deal with... or should I say u Don have requirements... and u Don bloody care if this phone drops signal here and then cos it is a F**KING cheap phone... i used a few phones already and non of the 1G RAM phone gives me this problem... try to restart your phone n see the free RAM available it is just non-sense that it will eat up to 700MB after restart... as I said if you have Mi3 also u will notice this also... I had Sony Xperia SP (my cf still using this), Lenovo P780 and Motorola G before... both with 1G RAM and both ram used was not at the 70% used level after restart... mostly will be around 50%-60%... On the phone with 2G RAM, I used Pantech R3 and Sony Xperia ZR b4... both also less than 50% used ram after startup... I speak out of experience and also fact, let ppl know the limitation only... and lastly FYI I have Mi3 and RedMi with me now... just sold a ASUS Zenphone5 (2G RAM version) to my fren also... This 3 budget phone I would tell you Zen5 gas better ram management compare to XiaoMi phones... it does feel smoother at times on Zen5... Which offer the best battery?or try rank them(moto g,zen 5,xperia sp,mi3,redmi,r3,xperia zr),in term of sot Thank you |

There is only 1 other rom available for wcdma besides the Global rom which is super jerky and slow. Go to xiaomi website under Redmi 1s and download.
