Last customer told me is tax free for loose diamond. If you are getting whole engagement ring, there will be 10% tax. |

Or you can try iDo Jewellery or The Gem Tribe, which are able to produce some great work. You can look at their Instagram for their previous works.I am planning to get a diamond ring for my wife. any recommendation ? my usual play would be Diamond and Platinum. but I see now there are more choices such Zcova which are made to order. |

Dear sifu, Im looking at this diamond which is a modified decagon cut, which to me, is very similar to a round cut. Therefore, I am unsure about the depth which is deeper than the typical round cut.
Diamond looked stunning when I was at the shop. They showed us the scintillation of the diamond in a machine, and even brought us outside to see the diamonds. Both times they compared their GCAL certified diamond to a GIA one, and the GCAL one sparkled so much more. Could I get some opinions on the specs? And also on whether GCAL is as good as what the salesperson was telling me? Price is SGD2.9k (RM10.1k) for 0.92carat lab grown with a 18k white gold twisted band. https://www.gcalusa.com/certificate-search....te_id=340020030 This post has been edited by student93: May 2 2024, 09:58 AM |

Therefore, I am unsure about the depth which is deeper than the typical round cut. If my memory serves me right, there is once I saw a diamond that has triple grading report - GCAL, GIA, and AGS. GCAL actually gives a lower grade than the two others. While this does not mean anything statistically, but in that instance, we can say GCAL is as strict as the other 2 labs, if not stricter. Decagon is sold by Jann Paul and it is exclusive to them alone, and as far as I know, Paul design this diamond shape and he sets strict standards, from the design of the diamond to the raw material of the diamond, including lab grown material.Diamond looked stunning when I was at the shop. The price is definitely not cheap for a lab-grown diamond, but then again, this is exclusive to Jann Paul alone. To give you a comparison, you can probably get yourself a 1 carat D VVS1 with 18k white gold band between 6k - 8k, depending on where you get it from. As for specs, this is considered a fancy cut, therefore, we probably can't use typical round brilliant standard for this diamond shape. However, you can get more info from the Hearts and Arrows, ASET and IdealScope image from Jann Paul, which they will provide by default standard. As long as it is a Jann Paul production, personally, I won't have any hesitation to get anything from them. I have no affiliate relationship with them, but personally, I just enjoy what they have been doing, and most importantly, they are creating some great cuts below 1 carat, which allows a wider range of consumers to access some great diamonds without breaking the bank. You can read about my own decagon experience here: https://www.myengagementringexperience.com/...ite-series.html My one is a natural diamond graded by AGS (before they merge with GIA). |

Thanks for the detailed reply! The blog post was very informative too, I have alot of confidence now that I see you also got a ring from Jann Paul 😂. I managed to get the ASET photo from them, would you mind taking a look? Is there any concern on non symmetrical light leakages at 11,2 and 7 o clock? Appreciate your help. ![]() |

Personally to me it is not a concern. Although each diamond is cut until as perfect as possible, there is actually no perfect diamond in this world as long as you continue to magnify higher. I managed to get the ASET photo from them, would you mind taking a look? Is there any concern on non symmetrical light leakages at 11,2 and 7 o clock? Appreciate your help. ![]() Overall, this diamond shows great light return and the lighter green and the darker green to me is just how this diamond interacts with light, at such cut quality, it is hard for the naked eye to distinguish any differences. Nonetheless, you can ask the salesperson about it and see if there is another decagon ASET for comparison. For symmetrical issue, I prefer to look at the Hearts image, the one generated by Jann Paul themselves. |

First of all, thanks @kambingkoh for answering all the questions.
Can I seek for your comment about this diamond? Does it worth the price or I can get something better at the same range? Thanks in advance! https://www.igi.org/verify-your-report/?r=631464269 |

As it happens, ZCova is having 15% discount on diamonds until tomorrow, so can save a bit also. https://zcova.com/lab-diamond/selected-diam...cartType=single ![]() |

QUOTE(Ceinwyn @ Jul 26 2024, 10:31 AM) Hi guys and sifus, It depends on individual. If you decided to wear it daily for all sorts of activities then you may probably want it. Most jewelers will probably reluctant to do maintenance on rings that aren't made by them to avoid any problem though. You can consider buying the diamond only and find a local jeweler in Penang that is able to do the ring for you and provide you with maintenance service.Thinking to get diamond ring from Jann Paul, however staying in Penang, wondering are there any shops that can do cleaning or prong checking for like every year (is it needed ah?).
