Thanks for the clarification bro. Any comments on the below two diamonds?

GIA 2326235158-  0.37, G, VS2
GIA 6291692192 -  0.37, E, VS2

Thanks in advance!

The G VS2 has a crown angle that is out of my preference. I would prefer 35.5 max when pair with 40.6 pavilion. But I believe you can see the physical stone cos they 2 seem like Wah Chan stones. So what do you think?

The E VS2 is too shallow. I will skip it entirely.

Thanks for this..actually this was from a private jeweler based in SG. Following the Whiteflash "A cut above" guidelines you shared previously, I managed to shortlist the following 3 stones from another online retailer based in SG. All 3 prices are around the same SGD. On paper and with my limited knowledge and tools available, I cannot tell which one is the better value. Appreciate your expert opinion on this rclxms.gif

1: GIA 2314316087, 0.44ct, H, VVS1, HCA Score: 1.4, Looks like size: "BIG"
2. GIA 7338120839, 0.44ct, G, VS2, HCA Score: 0.8, Looks like size: "BIGGER"
3. GIA 6305667523, 0.44ct, E, VS2, HCA Score: 1.9, Looks like size: "BIG"

Proportions wise I will pick diamond 1. But then proportions is one thing. How did the actual diamond look like? Do you have any images or videos?

Also, what is the price quoted?

Those were just based on their online inventory. Gonna make an appointment to see them IRL. All 3 were around the same price, ~SGD1.6k including GST.

Price seems fine considering they have the physical stone available for viewing.

If you are in Singapore, the best cut you can get there is from Jann Paul. But of course, the price is more expensive too. But they also keep their stones in-house so you can have a look too if you wish. Just make an appointment with them.

For those who are in the hunt for engagement ring, you may consider ZCOVA's current promotion for 0.5ct E VVS2 promo that comes with 18k white gold solitaire ring. Btw, if you mention my name Yang Kin, you will get RM 50 off as well!

If you just want a typical GIA 3EX, consider Wah Chan, Habib, Tailored Jewel, or Zcova.

Hi, would like to get some of your opinions on the diamond below

GIA: 2201520761

Carat: 0.4
Color: E
Clarity: VS 1
Cut: Excellent
Price: RM6000

I don't know much on pavillion and crown angle, this comes with 41 Pavillion angle and 33 crown angle.
*
Is this the price inclusive of the 18k ring? Or just the diamond ?

2 and 3 to me is no no. I won't buy stones with 41.6 and 41.4 pavilion angle. Very high chance to leak a lot of light. Stone 1 pairing works best with 40.6 pavilion, so another no no from me.

So there is nothing I can recommend. But you can let me know your budget and the 4Cs you are looking for.

But is option 1 the best out of the three ?? Sifu, how to know if the diamond leak a lot of light ? I can’t see it in the store just now, all three looks identical, except for the 0.6c where it seems to be a bit yellowish.

I’m thinking of around rm6k together with the ring, 0.4carat, better with VS1 above, F colour ?

As of now, if you want the cheapest possible price for 0.3ct H colour VS2, should be Tailored Jewel. Contact them via Facebook or visit them at KLPJ wedding fair.

Check out this link:

Note:
1. Remember to apply TJTQ for some extra discount if you are buying.
2. This ring is 14k, not 18k gold, so lesser gold content.

If the store is Wah Chan, you can't see any difference from one stone to another inside there. Everything blinks. How I know is based on my own understanding and experience. In fact, you can see two brands... LAZARE at DeGem and Estrella at Diamond and Platinum, and one other brand Solitaire Club by Wah Chan... They won't take 41.4 and 41.6 pavilion angle into their collection...

6k is possible... There is a promotion last month by Zcova. I think around RM 5800 for 0.4ct E VVS2. Comes with 18k solitaire ring. See whether they can make an extension for you or not. One of the founders say mention my name "Yang Kin" can get you additional RM 50 off. So maybe you can try and say that I intro you since I am also affiliate with them... no guarantee since promo supposed to finished already, but worth trying.

Update
Have a look at my renderings using DiamCalc. As GIA rounds up figure, this is based on best estimate of the proportions, which can be rounded up to match the figures on GIA report:

However, I have to stress that this is assuming that the diamonds are very well-cut. If the cutter does not cut the whole diamond good enough, the diamond will have worse performance.

LAZARE proportions: https://www.lazarediamonds-sea.com/what-is-...are-diamond.php
Estrella proportions: Go to Diamond & Platinum and get their latest brochure.
Soliatire Club proportions: https://solitaireclub.com.my/display/why-solitaire-club/

Hi sifu,

I've narrowed down my selection to the below two diamonds. I've viewed both in person and they are really really similar under the ASET, H&A scopes (but from different jewelers in SG). However the price difference is almost $600 between the two. Can you advise on paper, which would you choose? Both are reputable stores here in SG and these diamonds are from their signature cut series, but I'm a bit puzzled as the price gap for two similar diamonds could be so much?

GIA5326785778, 0.42c, F, VS2
GIA6331474369, 0.42c, G, VS2

Both have very good proportions, but I will get 6331474369 this one.

Reason: I love small table, more room for the crown to disperse fire... Theoretically... The other point that seal the deal is the 75% lower girdle. Bolder sparks! You have seen both, which one you prefer?

Hi kambingkoh sifu, I went to a few shops today and got the below GIA numbers. All 3 costs the same, around 6.5k to 6.9k for diamond+setting.

1. 0.4c 2317775248
2. 0.34c 14004992
3. 0.3c 7286920419

Can you advise what would be the best pick for you?
