oc'ing can be vary, my friend just do a little bit of oc'ing with i5 to get a little more juice, and then theres some others here who do it with passion with all fully watercooling and push their cpu to the limit. got example of that in here oso, like sentinel92.

and that would be the Z97 or any Z motherboard. i know a little can be made with b or h but the z is the appropriate one.

4k with 770/280x is possible, but...theres gonna be a little hold back. if u got the money why not.
later just upgrade the gpu  brows.gif

ohhh and about the last part, not sure tho. need to ask seller i guess.
*
Lel you tagged the 'Pool fan incorrectly. tongue.gif
biggrin.gif Sentinel92

4K with monitor and os is possible i think.. brows.gif

haha. I should have clarified it was a 4k budget. But again, is it still possible?
The question about the discount is because a friend in SG managed to get it directly from microsoft. He claimed as long as your email has a edu, you qualify. Wanted to confirm before I made a food of myself.

So, OC, for the usual person, not that important?
*
Non-OC build..possible. brows.gif

hmm.gif I haven't heard of that discount thinggy majiggy before.. sweat.gif

What do you mean by "usual person"?

If not into OC'ing I'd recommend getting a Xeon. Cheaper and the same as an i7-4770. If not into OC'ing just go for a simple aircooling setup. Maybe pick up a LED Bling Bling Aftermarket Heatsink that cost around RM 150+

Badass casing is so many in the market right now. One of em is NZXT 530. Ain't that right Sentinel92 brows.gif

Thanks for the info. I'll try asking their customer support and see if I can get the discount. Maybe even snag a cheap Microsoft Office sweat.gif
Hmm... Do you think it will be a good idea to go for i5 4670? I'm gonna hopefully save on cutting out the driver and getting a discount on the OS
By usual, I guess I mean someone who just enjoys gaming but not really interested in learning about OC. I was concerned that I would be CPU bound in the future.

Thanks for the information!
*
IMHO,going just for .2GHz increase for about RM100-110 more isn't worth it TBH. nod.gif

If the person wants to OC,then the person needs a i5 4690k/4670k or the i7 4790k/4770k,Z97/87 motherboard and a good third party cooler. nod.gif
CPU bound?Huh? hmm.gif

This. wink.gif

Try to ask C-Zone if they have the 2GB version of the GTX 760, which should cost cheaper. The 4GB one quoted below is ridiculous, there aren't many other GTX 760 choices in C-Zone's pricelist. tongue.gif

Intel Core i5 4460 - RM579
Asus H97M-E - RM349
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM259
Leadtek GTX 760 4GB OC – RM999
Silverstone Strider Essential 500W PSU - RM179
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM179
Intel 530 Series 120GB SSD - RM289
Cooler Master K380 Casing - RM149
Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM55

Total - RM3037 (prices are from C-Zone)
*
Another option is the Asus GTX760 2GB GDDR5 DCU II OC at RM979. nod.gif

Hi, my old dell from 2006 just had its motherboard die on me, now I wish to get a new desktop.

However, I wish to not spend too much on it yet.

I'm hoping to get a decent spec PC, though.. Err I'm not sure how much I can spend. So keep it RM1.3k for now?

I already have everything else, with a 23" Dell IPS display.

Can anyone recommend me? I already have a Samsung 160GB and WD Green 640GB so I intend to salvage those. ALSO salvaging my DVD burner along with the TP-link PCI wireless receiver for wifi.

I plan on upgrading it in future, step by step, so basic specs are okay, will still need an average graphic card for DOTA 2, though. Thanks!

Hi bro, thanks for the suggestion! My previous computer runs on Pentium D 3GHz, with GeForce 8600GT, 1.5GB DDR2 ram, stupid question but should the performance be a lot better with this rig? I shall google more on it but was wondering if you can share your opinion with me. smile.gif will the mobo be upgradable to better GPUs in the future? D they have the same slot? What about the processor? Could it one day be changed to a higher spec one? Thanks!!
*
I'm pretty sure it runs better than your old PC. nod.gif

You don't need to upgrade the Mobo to get a better GPU. tongue.gif Let's say,if you wanna get GTX770..get a newer and better PSU. nod.gif

Yup,you can change the processor to an i5 or i7 or Intel Xeon, but the processor have to be compatible with the motherboard.
The i3 i suggested is of Haswell architecture, which uses socket 1150/LGA1150,which is what the motherboard(Asrock B85M-Pro4) supports. wink.gif

thank you for the quote smile.gif
Normal software as in microsoft words and so on, no randering software.
And for the casing, if change it to CM, which one would be better.
And how about add SSD, can reduce other? if possiblee.
*
It'll be fine. nod.gif
Hmm..if you're willing to spend more,get CM Storm Scout II Black/Gunmetal/White RM279-339. tongue.gif

QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Jun 27 2014, 12:33 AM)
i think later add SSD better, to much to cramp in your budget, unless you want to sacrifice that GPU which is not recommended.
or maybe go with CM K380 casing and non-modular PSU, maybe can get small size SSD.
*
QUOTE(kay-you @ Jun 27 2014, 12:38 AM)
Yaa thinking on that too, will probably add an SSD later on.
Reduce to non-modular and get a small size SSD, i dont think its worth it. *that's my opinion only.
*
At least 120GB is worth it IMO. nod.gif Save up and later on grab an 120/240GB SSD.. icon_idea.gif

Not sure?
Differences between an i7 4790 and Xeon E3-1230 V3 AFAIK are.
1.Only .2GHz slower.
2.No iGP
3.Cheaper brows.gif

USD and RM are different. tongue.gif

Here,i7 4790 price is around RM950-990.On Newegg,the price is around $310.The Xeon E3-1230 V3 is only $70 cheaper in the US..but about RM200 cheaper here. wink.gif

I think that's it, the Corsair 900D, a Super Tower, cost RM 1270. It's one hell of a big case that's for sure.

Here's some case suggestion for below RM 400

Bitfenix Ghost - RM 339
Phanteks Enthoo Pro - RM 329
NZXT H440 - RM 399
NZXT Source 530 - RM 320
NZXT 410 - RM 325
Corsair Carbide 330R - RM 335
Corsair Carbide 500R - RM 395

If you have doubts or so, checks each single case and it's review. Just google the name of these case and type review in it.
*
Another option is the NZXT H230.. brows.gif Silent Chassis. RM215 from IdealTech..
