Hi thanks for the replies guys, yeap forgot to mention I am staying in a flat so I cannot go too loud, space constrain is an issue as well, the ac4tv looks good, a lot of good reviews online, but how bout the valbee? And any opinions on the blackstar ht-5? If the ht-5 is really good I'll just forget everything and get that instead
*
go test, a mans poison is another mans meat

i dont know about the valbee or blackstar, but in general small amps i tired have the issue of sounding boxy due to its size. which compared to a full tube amp it always sound like an imitation.

if you ask me, id say you go CK test an AC15 against an AC4 and a nighttrain (another lunchbox amp) to get an idea of what sounds and works for you.

Hi guys, planning to upgrade my amp and wanna hear some suggestions from u guys

Currently using a cheap nux mighty8, wanna upgrade to a tube amp, I'm eyeing on the blackstar ht-5, but its quite expensive, should I just get a cheap small amp like the ibanez valbee and use the spare cash on pedals? My budget is around 1.5k but the cheaper the better lol

Im looking for a more versatile amp, cos I play anything from blues to metal, tried the ux2 but didn't like it, prefer the sound from amps, thanks guys smile.gif

how about an Orange Micro Terror, it has a valve preamp and sounds pretty good through a full 1x12 cab or save up a bit for the Tiny Terror.

Considered a hybrid-tube amp if not mistaken?

None IIRC. Pretty high end axes don't come in easily if the name's not big. Try slow talk with any store manager and see what can they offer.

yeah i should have. Regretting it already. Shop owner looks quite stern, but he allowed me to take pictures. Don't know why i didn't bother to give it a try.
