Too big to fail la Gibson, sure get bailed one. They're still the most profitable guitar company on earth as of last year. And a June deadline for the USD500mil is still some time to go. What if some obscure China company comes out of the blue and buys them?! Gibson by Joyo sweat.gif

Anyone here used the zoom ms50g as mod/delay along with analog effects pedals?

or generally putting a multieffects at the end of the pedal chain.

will it work?

I've not had a setup with combined analog and digital multifx, but putting the multifx at the end of the chain for modulation or delay like u say sounds like it should work. End chain being in effects loop.

doesn't really matter as long as u get the signal chain u desire...
that's why its usually distortion before delay etc.
zoom has pretty decent delay so shouldnt crap the sound.

bail not much la, more like bought over or downsize, their profits have been shit for a while, revenue is fine but the bond issuance did eat them up quite a bit.

Henry is on a downsizing spree now, their memphis plant moved to a smaller space and they are sacking CS bois. i think theres a post on TGP for gibson looking for new hires for the custom shop, skills weren't exactly needed. creditors want to kick out henry which is quite due

TGP is going on about a rumour for yamaha to take over, they certainly have the size and capacity to buy over a dying company in need of funding. But i dont think it would fit their profile unless gibson is sold for dirt cheap

what i find funny tho is henry and this Gibson era of the 90s-now, they pretty much are hte guys who took gibson out from norlin, put it on the map and restarted the new golden age for the company. Yet for some reason they are hated with passion these days , honestly i dont think gibsons quality has been any better or worse, but ya.

I guess its that Batman quote playing out, “You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain”

yeah that's my idea right after the noise gate at the very end of the chain.. to simplify my setup haha. mainly chorus, delay and reverb only. hopefully it wont ruin the overdriven tone created by my dirt pedals.

mmmm right now my only concern is whether the amp modelling can be disabled or not... i only tested out a few of my friend's but those cannot be disabled. can only select to simulate a clean amp instead but that creates a layer (sounds diff if played through the mfx vs directly to my amp).

Not sure about this MS50g tho... and i've been googling yet couldnt find anything about this ugh. Only one so far that i can verify to work is the boss MS-3 but that thing is bloody expensive.

their manual is counter intuitive as it was heavily criticized by reviewers too. i had a hard time understanding it as well sweat.gif

my experience with older zooms is that their cab simulation can be turned off, and that its usually part of the effects chain.

i'm reading the manual now, and its clear as day as to where the 'amp' is.
so being part of the effects chain, i'm pretty sure they can also be turned off there.

yeah it is there but no mention on whether it can be turned off. The manual is just covering stuff on the surface. Guess will require some hands on.
Heard there was a recent firmware update for the ms50g too.

But judging from what you said, i believe it should be able to then. Thanks! guess i should just get it and try. (ive never used a mfx before thus a bit confused)

i had the ms50g, i think when it launched it was selling much cheaper than now does. bought it in a sale, sold it for profits biggrin.gif

still a bargain though, great as a backup unit since its so small and can cover so much. If youre only into the effects and not distortion, theres another model ms-50cdr that doesnt have od/dist/amp but more mods/delay/reverbs. the only cons is its hard to switch mid song, and the switches are not super sturdy just be careful when using.

the stomplab is ok but cant really compete with it. yeah i have that one too..and the ck staff are nice they will let u test kau kau.. i did that a few times biggrin.gif
