Mealworms should be on an oat bedding. Also, make sure the container is well ventilated. Actually, the bread is good since bread have calcium but if we put in a container with no proper ventilation, the bread will began to become smelly and rotten.

For me, I mix oats with dried holistic dogfood... also never give wet fruits. Only leafy vegies for the mealworms and once a while carrot slices.

Anyway, Kiah dun like mealworms heheheh.... she goes crazy for crickets, she gets 4 crickets every other day.

Wahh, hv to buy oats for mealworms plak...

The container I keep the mealworms have holes definitely, but it's starting to smell lah... Sighh...

Have you guys ever seen the giant/jumbo mealworms? They sell like rm10 per container (the rectangular tupperware). They are like really huge, like the size of your pinkie finger... Wonder if the suggies will eat it or be freaked of it

Yeah yeah..i saw..selling at the aquarium shop near my place..RM 8 per container...i so scared to hold the worm..but after i tried cricket...maybe this time i am not so scared...ehehehe

Thos giant mealworms are called Superworms... ugly things.... Kiah hates them.

Last time when I gave Iggy the mealworm turn to larva thingy, I could almost hear him say "mmm, taste like cricket!".

The jumbo mealworms are a little scary lah, hehe... Cheaka, mebbe you try 1st

How do you give them the cricket? Break the legs first?

At first, they grab those super mealworms. Then stare blankly and wondering what to do with it. Then, wth, just bite it. Hmm... taste like chicken

My Gollum see cricket..first thing he bite the head off liao then he would hold the cricket by himself and slowly makan....

No need break leg... my Kiah eats cricket legs like we eat chicken drumsticks LOL,.... Normally I handfeed crickets so they do not jump away.

Yups... cengkerik... normally sell RM1 for 30 crickets. But they die very fast.... And damn smelly... smellier than mealworms when they die...

That's why I don't buy crickets unless my Ts are hungry too

Wah I wanna buy crickets for my SGs but I feel a little icky having to grab them. Plus... I read somewhere that we are supposed to break the crickets hind legs off because it has sharp edges. How true is this?

Yah, crickets are just smelly things.... but I can finish using them since so many of my animals eat crickets hahhah.... I buy Rm3 to Rm4 at 1 go.... can last me about 1 week only, sometimes 5 days hahahah...

Kiah takes about 4 crickets a day.... she can go up to 6 a day but she normally gets full at 4 only.... Crickets have higher protein content and less fat than mealworms....

I think gliders enjoy the legs.... when Kiah was a joey I did not let her eat the legs but now, since adult, she loves cricket legs. No, won't poke around since I have seen Kiah chewing the legs till spitting out the exoskeleton mush....

Well, i dunno about other gliders but after feeding crickets, Kiah do not like mealworms anymore....

Smellier... That's bad...

High protein... That's good...

Mebbe I shud try giving crickets, but mealworms are easier to keep, what if Iggy doesn't want mealworms after that... How do you keep the crickets? Can it be kept in those plastic containers like mealworms?

yeah loh..same here..my gollum now marah me like that after i stop giving him crickets....he is like very "action" now.....don't want to come near me...always stay in the bag...how ah..any other way to lure him ....and be friend with me again....

I don't know the right way to keep it...but i put it at a high bucket (tong)...so that they cannot hop out.....but sometimes the crickets kind of cute as they make cricket sound if you feed them...at night also you can hear them....

I stay in an apartment...when i had the crickets...my whole apartment feel like i am in a jungle eventhough i put the bucket at my kitchen.....ahhaha.....but smellly.....
