hi all...

I will be having video interview with Premier Oil company, based in UK this week. i am not sure on what position i will be offered as when i applied to the company, i only deposited my resume in their website in general.

In the email, they stated they will explain more about the role offered during the interview.

Please do share some tips for the interview, in general, because i have never work in oil and gas company. I am not familiar with the nature of the job and i dont know what to expect during this interview, as this is my first time an international company is interviewing me.

I am preparing myself to learn about the company and also to keep abreast with latest news in oil and gas industry. Will it be suffice?

Thank you for anyone who are willing to share their experience or knowledge about this company.

Thank you
abgkik

Hello everyone,

Is it feasible to apply to oil and gas companies for my engineering internship program?

I have my eyes on technip, but I wonder if you sifus have any opinions...

In technip, depend on which division you will be. However in general, the things that you can learn as follow:
1) Process module design
2) Subsea and riser
3) Floater design and installation
4) Sea transportation (fastening, stability etc)
5) Mooring system
6) Static and Rotating module
dan banyak lagi... wink.gif

Feasible in what sense?

It certainly won't do you any harm if that's what you are worried about.

Technip will help you get an idea on the Production, and Mid/ Downstream processes.

You won't get much exposure to Exploration and Drilling with Technip.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated!
I've heard its really hard to land any sort of positions in O&G companies..

Weatherford to Cut 5,000 Jobs as It Fights Oil Slump

Feb 5 (Reuters) - Weatherford International Plc plans to cut 5,000 jobs, or about 9 percent of its workforce, by the end of the first quarter as the oil services company tries to save costs amid sinking oil prices and budget cuts.
The job cuts will focus on both operating and support positions and a majority of the reductions will be in the Western Hemisphere, the company said in a statement.
Weatherford, which currently employs about 56,000 people across the world, expects the job cuts to result in annualized savings of over $350 million.
"Due to the quickly changing market conditions, we are aligning and reducing our cost as well as organizational structures to match the new environment," the company said.
Weatherford said it expects its cost actions, a reduction in capital expenditure by $550 million to $900 million in 2015 and a positive contribution from working capital balances, to offset any reduction in earnings.
Last month, the company said it would eliminate the position of chief operating officer as it copes with a 60 percent slide in global crude oil prices.
Global oversupply and tepid demand growth have sent crude prices to five-year lows, prompting oil producers to trim their budgets.
Oil companies have responded to the lower spending levels by cutting thousands of jobs and also salaries.
Schlumberger NV, the world's largest oilfield services provider, is laying off 9,000 employees, while Baker Hughes Inc is reducing its headcount by 7,000.
Oil major BP Plc said it last month that it would freeze base pay across the company this year, while Resolute Energy Corp said it would slash its CEO's base pay by 96 percent.

You need to deal with ALTCO (Asian LNG Trading Co. Sdn Bhd) because you cannot deal directly with MLNG for any SPA pertaining to LNG. ALTCO is a LNG trading arm on behalf of Petronas, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petronas too. Myself is an ex-MLNG staff last time, and sorry I cannot help you much because some of the staffs that I know in ALTCO already resigned and joining Qatar LNG. Banyak orang baru in ALTCO so I didnt know them much.

You can refer to Petronas official website to have the contact of ALTCO.

Hi guys, I have to say that this thread have been very informative. I wish use my chance to thank the contributors here.

I have just been offered a job as a rotating engineer by a contractor, they will provide all the training. People told me the prospect for the rotating line is good because the skill is rare, pay is relatively high and it is in high demand.

They say rotating job will be available even during recession or boom time because plants or offshore installation machines always need maintenance hence after a few years of experience finding a job is easy even internationally.

Can someone please share with me about rotating engineer/specialist line?? Thanks in advance
