QUOTE(Koross @ Mar 1 2007, 11:53 AM) Oh man I really sympathise with new GW gamers. I recently formated my office computer and I had to reinstall GW. Did so by using the Nightfall CD, did the -image trick and was quite surprised that I had to download 30k++ files. Wow. What a way to really push away new gamers of this game. Well....you can't blame them for the game have been updated extensively even after the introduction of Nightfall. Unless they keep updating the retail pack each month I don't see a solution except online download. Best way I think now is to backup the GW directory before you consider removing the game. |

Recap... (if you guys still remember) I really hope there will be an event when chapter 4 arrive. Something like the Nightfall Pre-launch Party at Cititel Hotel would be nice. (I know it's a lot to ask but I just really like events like this where people of similar interest get together
Anyways.... any speculation on the next theme for chapter 4 ? What new professions are they introducing ? The name of the special minipet "Asura" sounds like something from the Buddhist/Hindu mythology. What do you guys think ? |

QUOTE(rad @ Mar 23 2007, 04:18 AM) Thanks bro. I have ask some people in other forum, they say "pay for the 3 months deal and it's free for life"...is this true? I thought it's free forever. What they mean is you buy the game for more or less than RM140. Since the game has no monthly fee the value of the game = 3 months fee. As for the weapons in the game there are no +5, +7...+10 etc. You can just get a max damage weapon from the collectors / weaponsmith and slap in some addition upgrade (+hp, +armor ,+effect...etc) although it won't look as cool as the ones from chests/drops. The key point of this game is "balance" as everyone gets the same weapons, armors and skills. Hope this answer you questions http://gw.gamewikis.org (Guild Wiki) By the way...did anyone get the "Game Of The Year" edition of GW:Prophecies ? Is the extra weapon worth the investment (eventhough they don't come with a suffix and cannot be upgrade with one either) ? The upgrade only cost US4.99 so I'm quite tempted to get it. |

I would like to ask for all of your support for a petition to update the Guild Wars : Prophecies - Game Of The Year edition bonus weapons as they did not include a suffix and they won't allow us to add one (Don't know if it's bug or something but they still haven't fix it). I have posted in GWOnline.net forum at the following thread :
http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/show...t=436245&page=4 A lot of people felt cheated because it's like paying good money for inferior products. Please extend your kind support to rectify the following cause. Thank You. (P.S. I will keep updating my support request until they do so) This post has been edited by tanleeseng: Mar 26 2007, 10:29 AM |

Can anyone give me a list of cybercafes (preferably within the KL area) that serves Guild Wars. I know this has been mentioned somewhere in the thread but I'm lazy to search. Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(azxel @ Jul 4 2007, 09:03 AM) No need Nightfall. You just need a PvE character who is LV20 and finished at least 1 campaign to be carry forward to GW:EN expansion. I'm not sure if you can create a new character in GW:EN though since it's just an expansion instead of a whole campaign. Looking forward to the Pre-release Pack (Hopefully will get a set of 10 special weapons |

QUOTE(heaven @ Jul 12 2007, 03:17 PM) Yea, I know how to spawn the weapons, but the point is I don't want to waste a full prophecies account if the weapons code is the same code as the game itself, stacking GW:GOTY with the old prophecies won't get any bonus other than the weapons. If you bought the GW:GOTY Edition the bonus weapon code is the same as the game key code which you use to create a new game account that only contain the GW:GOTY Edition or you can choose to merge it with your existing GW account but as you have said you will only get the bonus weapons as extras. You can also buy the USD5 GOTY upgrade for your Prophecies account at NCSoft online store. But if the code is separated, then the game code is free to create an account, while the weapons code will be binded to my current account. Which my question to anyone who owns GW:GOTY, is the code separated or just a single code? QUOTE(azxel @ Jul 13 2007, 08:46 AM) wow.. RM20 for a weapon? I wonder weapon it is.. and what it's specs are. The bonus weapon I got from Nightfalls' pretty good, especially when I'm using it now at lower levels. Not for "a weapon" but for 7 weapons each for one core profession (+ a shield). They are max stats weapons that come with their own unique skins. Please bear mind that unlike normal weapons they don't come with a suffix mod and they cannot be upgraded with one although they can be respawn multiple time across all 3 campaign (even pre-searing) for all your characters (and Heroes) if you merge the key code so they make good starter weapons but will seem inferior compare to one which has both prefix & suffix mod or is upgradable. I have propose a thread in the Guildwars Guru forum asking ArenaNet to update bonus weapons so that they become moddable. Hope you guys can provide some support for this :http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10154871 Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by tanleeseng: Jul 13 2007, 11:04 AM |

That's why a lot of people are protesting now about the Bonus Mission Pack. It's only available to those who spent at the NCSoft online store and only those who have credit cards can do so. Hopefully they will offer some other option to purchase it. Sometimes I question the motif of ArenaNet offering stuff that not everyone can get.

News from GW website :
QUOTE Guild Wars: Eye of the North Prerelease Bonus Pack to Hit Shelves July 20 Must....get....pre-release pack Bellevue, WA., July 17, 2007-NCsoft(R) and ArenaNet(R) announced today that the prerelease bonus pack for Guild Wars: Eye of the NorthTM is set to arrive on retailer's shelves on July 20 and will include a host of compelling features, including exclusive in-game items and access to the Guild Wars: Eye of the North Sneak Peek Weekend set for later this summer. The Guild Wars: Eye of the North prerelease bonus pack will be available from retailers in North America and Europe as well as at the NCsoft store at PlayNC.com and via the Official Guild Wars online store. Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first ever expansion to the subscription-free Guild Wars franchise of fantasy online roleplaying games, which will be released to the public on August 31, 2007. This expansion will provide new content accessible to players who have any of the previously released Guild Wars campaigns (Guild Wars, Guild Wars: FactionsTM, or Guild Wars: NightfallTM). Players who pre-order Guild Wars: Eye of the North will gain access to the Sneak Peek Weekend, August 24-26, 2007, where they will be able to log into the game for a first look at Eye of the North. Players will be able to explore the Far Shiverpeaks region of the world, home of the barbaric Norn. Everything players obtain during the Sneak Peek Weekend, including items, XP, Heroes, and loot, will be permanent and available when the expansion goes live. The Guild Wars: Eye of the North prerelease bonus pack also comes with exclusive weapons, including the Glacial Blade, the Hourglass Staff, and the Darksteel Longbow. These new weapons are based on the winning designs from the Guild Wars Design-a-Weapon Contest held earlier this year. In addition, the prerelease bonus pack includes a Guild Wars Trilogy Trial DVD that provides access to all three of the Guild Wars campaigns for a special trial promotion lasting 10 hours or 14 days, whichever comes first. "We believe this feature-packed prerelease delivers real value to our players," said Mike O'Brien, co-founder of ArenaNet. "From past experience, we expect the Sneak Peek Weekend alone to be hugely popular, and players won't want to miss this chance to get a leg-up before the game goes live." For more information on the Guild Wars franchise, visit the Guild Wars website at http://www.guildwars.com. The award-winning Guild Wars series of games can be purchased from retailers or downloaded from the PlayNC store at https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/Store.pl. |

Heard some interesting news about the GW:EN Pre-release pack bonus weapons. It seems that like the GW:GOTY bonus weapons some of them does not come equip with a suffix mod but you are allow to put one on them. Hmm... does this mean the other bonus weapons are affected as well (eventhought it's just the suffix

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Jul 21 2007, 08:38 PM) I'm thinking of taking a break from WoW to play this game. Do I need to buy all the campaigns to start the game? I checked TSB and they only have Nightfall. No...you need only 1 of 3 campaigns to start with. Buy the other 2 if you want more skills and armors to choose from but you'll definately need either one of them to start playing Guild Wars : Eye Of The North as it is an expasion instead of a full campaign.By the way Mr.Koross.... will there be any event for GW:EN ? How are we going to get the Pre-release Pack ? Will there be a Collectors Edition of GW:EN ? Hope you can help clarify This post has been edited by tanleeseng: Jul 22 2007, 01:51 AM |
