Sharpen as in using a tripod or photoshop? Btw, that picture is handheld. Somehow I'm lazy to bring a tripod around. Everyone will be staring at me if I use one. I don't like the stares.
Oh ya, can someone try capturing a long shutter photo with lens cap on? Look at this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=12720266 I'm having lots of blue/red/white pixels everywhere. I'm going to bug Canon if my unit is the only one that is so severe. |

Well, I think I adapt that from the manual (I mean the write up which comes with the camera).. I read a lot bout manual settings and then seldom use Auto... Sometimes the Auto White Balance cannot be depended.. Maybe it's just me.. Must learn how to use more Aperture Priority now..QUOTE(mengsuan) Oh ya, can someone try capturing a long shutter photo with lens cap on? Ah!! Does that means that I got a defective unit?
I'm going to write to Canon and demand for a new S5 IS. |

How did you make the ants (insects) so large? Did you use close-up lens?

I'm afraid of squashing the ants on my lens. Lol.. And the surface is rough; it can scratch the camera.
I've tried capturing ants in my kitchen but it turned out too small. When I get near it, it's too dark. I've tried capturing dragonflies, but it ran away before I press the shutter down. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Aug 7 2007, 04:49 PM |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Aug 7 2007, 06:13 PM) I didn't know that you can use zoom on super macro. What mode are you in? You can't use optical zoom under Super Macro. Even under macro, it's very limited only. I've never tried digital zoom though.Ah, all of your pics is so cool. I need to find some insects too. |

And nah, I didn't use zoom in super macro.Ah, all of your pics is so cool. I need to find some insects too. I just sat about 1 1/2 feet away from the dragonfly and zoomed in. And maybe used digital zoom until about 16x or so. The picture isn't cropped, in case you're wondering. It is full reso. |

These ant's are really big.. I doubt you can find this kinda ants in your kitchen, or else you're in big trouble.. And I think the reason why your pix are dark is because u'r indoor.. The pix I taken were outdoor. ISO about 80 if I'm not mistaken.. And no, I didn't scratch my lens, instead I scratched the bottom part of the camera...I think I need the Lens Adapter with some UV filters to protect the camera..I've tried capturing ants in my kitchen but it turned out too small. When I get near it, it's too dark. I've tried capturing dragonflies, but it ran away before I press the shutter down. |

Ofcourse they were taken from S3.. All my pictures were at ISO 80... Not all pictures were with macro.. Alot of zooming and focus.. And the ants were really big.. As big as our fingernails, maybe bigger..
And then some flowers.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Still learning.. And "My Colours" were set to Vivid.. but the last one.. With or without Vivid the flower i still DAMNNN bright.. This post has been edited by kinz_11: Aug 9 2007, 12:45 PM |
