QUOTE(mars2005 @ Jun 19 2007, 07:36 PM) Hi, anyone know what's the current price for this cam now? AP, Original, japan, china, or malaysia set?? If you were aware of my post, I bought it at 1600(actually 1580). Warranty by Canon Malaysia. After buying all necessary stuff like tripod, case, screen protector, high speed 2GB memory card and rechargeable batteries & charger, it adds up to be about 1.7K. If you want Japan sets, I know someone who sells it for 1160. |

Normally in general, even new, somehow the Japanese sets would be cheaper to bring in without any tax on it, the only downfall is warranty...NIL! Hence retailers able to sell at cheaper price.....

QUOTE(mars2005 @ Jun 19 2007, 10:22 PM) Even the one I got is made in Japan. The difference is the warranty. If it goes through Canon Malaysia, it's expensive(15xx). If directly from Japan, it's 1160. If directly from Japan, need to send back to Japan for warranty as Canon has no international warranty. |

Nowadays people pay for warranty, you definitely don't want to take any risk for the sake of saving RM200~RM300. Check back the previous post, there are available as low as RM1400, if you can still find it though. |

I got myself extended warranty some more. When it comes to gadgets, I try not to save on things like warranty.

I'm using this technique now for my S3, but one thing i'm worry is the flash being deflected directly back to the built in flash, i wonder will it FRY our build in flash?
please advise. p/s: i notice there's burning smell when i use the strongest flash ![]() source : http://www.instructables.com/id/EFWF47HEFPEV2Z6BX8/ This post has been edited by morph: Jun 23 2007, 12:29 PM |

Out of stupidity I actually tried touching the flash when it was at maximum.. You'll feel a slight shock on ur hands.. And a *zap* sound.. Scary though.. Never wanna do that again..

It's another NBTD day. Simply snapped some nonsense using RAW.
This is the jpeg created by the camera itself: This is converted using UFRaw. I simply selected a spot and let it decide on the white balance. I think the contrast is too high. This is converted using DNG for Powershot and then Adobe Lightroom. I just selected one of the preset white balance. All these conversion takes less than a minute. I believe it can be much better if I spend more time fine-tuning the settings. Aiks.. I realised that 640x480 is a little too small to see its difference in details. I shall upload slightly better resolution in the future. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Jun 23 2007, 08:05 PM |
