QUOTE(spring onion @ May 6 2014, 05:40 PM) Interesting..... http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...c-takeover.html KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): Damansara Realty Bhd (DBHD) rose as much as 13% on speculation that the firm, which has close links with the Johor royalty, will take over KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd from Johor Corporation (JCorp), dealers said today. DBHD officials could not be reached for comment. At 2.57 pm, DBHD jumped 14 sen or 10.6% to RM1.46. The fourth top gainer saw some 9.7 million shares changed hands. It had earlier hit a high of RM1.49. According to a dealer, DBHD might take over the ‘golden egg’ assets held by JCorp, such as KFC. Johor businessman Datuk Daing A Malek Daing A Rahaman, who is well connected to the state royalty, has assumed control of DBHD via Seaview Holdings Sdn Bhd. “We hear market talk that the Sultan of Johor views favourably on DBHD and is willing to inject KFC into the firm,” the dealer told theedgemalaysia.com. On April 30, DBHD announced to Bursa Malaysia that Seaview had completed its acquisition of 51% of equity in DBHD from JCorp via a share sales agreement. Daing A Malek is one the shareholders of Seaview. Meanwhile, another dealer told theedgemalaysia.com that DBHD’s rise among the top gainers today could be due to a technical rebound. “We think it is a technical rebound, although we have heard JCorp may inject assets into DBHD,” said the dealer over the telephone. From a technical perspective, Kenanga Research in a note today said DBHD’s immediate support and resistance levels hover at RM1.32 and RM1.58 respectively. ============= Wayang kulit time.... http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...ara-realty.html KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): Johor Corporation Bhd (JCorp) has denied speculations that Damansara Realty Bhd (DBHD) will take over its subsidiary, KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd. “JCorp is not aware of such proposal and has not solicited any proposal in relation to the mentioned companies,” said the state corporation in an email statement to theedgemalaysia.com. Earlier today, theedgemalaysia.com reported that DBHD, which has close links with the Johor royalty, rose 13% after the firm was rumoured to take over KFC. DBHD official could not be reached for comment. DBHD attracted market attention after Johor businessman Datuk Daing A Malek Daing A Rahaman, who is well connected to the state royalty, assumed control of DBHD via Seaview Holdings Sdn Bhd. |

QUOTE(hehe86 @ May 6 2014, 10:45 AM) current 'downtrend'..... ![]() sometimes they say patterns exist.... do they? this current downtrend happened AFTER Homeriz announced their profits results on 28/4/14 Previous profits was announced on 24/1/14 ![]() .... and yes, a similar downtrend was also noticeable. Only difference, I would say for the current downtrend, there was already a slight weakness of the stock before the profits were announced. But betting on patterns is not a sure win strategy. Sometimes patterns do happen, sometimes they don't. This is the much bigger picture. the previous profits were announced on end Oct 2013. Homeriz went gap up instead. ![]() So where's my tip? |

Not necessarily saying that one should buy or sell. It's just that market may be flat and unexciting because no one is paying much attention to it. cksoon could try to prove it by comparing market transaction volumes with past incidences of major sporting events.
