you are worried about future cheap fares? laugh.gif

thing I am very worried is....
one day in the future....
when AirAsia loans go over..... say 30 or 40 billion..... and AirAsia gets into trouble....
will the rakyat faced with a massive, massive .....rescue bill?  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

Why would the government help AirAsia? Seems like the government hates AirAsia, based on all the arguments over KLIA2.

Not necessarily saying that one should buy or sell. It's just that market may be flat and unexciting because no one is paying much attention to it. cksoon could try to prove it by comparing market transaction volumes with past incidences of major sporting events.

I know that you always post lots of charts and data to accompany your statements. This is why the forum treats you like a god. Like everyone else, I am of course in awe as well of how much work you put into research and how well reasoned your arguments are.

But sometimes people just like to post to talk cock. Otherwise the thread is dull and quiet, like the market is right now. And anyway not all posts must necessarily be advice. It may just be random observations and anecdotes.

Just out of curiosity, do you have to pay for a copy of the ChartNexus software to create those charts? Does it come with full historical data?

Some of you may be interested in this new paper which supports momentum investing:

Do you believe in momentum investing? smile.gif

I can't respond because I don't really know much about it. I am probably closest to being a value investor, with a strong emphasis on dividends. Judging from your own comments, you do subscribe to momentum investing ideas. Note that while the paper I linked talks about momentum investing only, the authors personally advocate a combination of value investing and momentum investing. It seems to me that this is very close to what you yourself do in this thread.

hehe.... tongue.gif

can I ask you one more thing?

value vs growth investing, what do you prefer?

biggrin.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're almost the same thing, especially compared to something that is purely technical like momentum investing which ignores financial reports. The difference is that value investing is based on current known value (as far as can be known from current reports anyway) while growth investing is based on future expected value. Growth investing should therefore be higher risk - higher return because there are more unknown factors at play and expected growth may not realize.

Strange why the reporter chose to do a story on it right now since there doesn't exactly seem to be any new information to justify a story. Is it possible for the couple to have lobbied for a story from The Star to kindle interest in their company?

FT blog arguing that a property crash in China is imminent. I know that China bears have been sounding this alarm for years, but there is a lot of data in this particular post.

Just that gark isn't around to keep asking boon questions and people are now smart enough not to post stupid suggestions which leads boon to posting lots of charts to show why those suggestions are dumb.

Half a day gone and no posts in this thread yet. Anyway, looks like another red day. But my IJMLAND was up so I decided to dispose of it.

I think boon looks at fundamentals first to decide when to buy and at charts to decide when to buy. Charts are mostly used to see if the stock is on an uptrend. Don't buy stocks when they are on a downtrend. Wait for the downtrend to break first.

At least this is my interpretation of his strategy.
