Rm1349 so cheap! Its no brainer for those still contemplating to buy this phone. Compared to other flagship, this is the cheapest and yet it is among the best spec for 2013 till Q1 2014!!

I was a samsung user since the galaxy 1 time. I bought LG G2 last week and it was the most right decision ive made so far. Really love this phone.

I just checked with 1Gadget it is going for RM1349 too.
Will get one in a day or two as my Note2 motherboard died on me.

Do you root the phone using the link on the LG G2 first post while in Jellybean or root if after updating it to KitKat?

Depends on your needs some of us change phones just for fun. While if u see our older generation they are quite happy with a simple Nokia 3310 which can call and SMS.

Congrats on V3!
Just bought white color from 7mobile for 1349!
Went to directd first but only gold color left 😞

I bought a case with small window at directd. But it seems not responding.. maybe bcos i installed tempered glass screen protector? I might cut out the window for easy access.. or is it i should use original casing to make it work?

so far the g2 is the phone that makes it very hard for me to sell.. because I don't know what else to get after this lol..most of the newer phones are only marginally better eg htc one m8 but cost twice as much. Maybe will consider Oppo Find 7a or 7.

I have the same feeling. Unless there is some drastic improvement to new phones, i find the new phones so far do not offer much difference.

just bought spigen sgp slim armour soul black colour, it is very nice design, and nice to hold. One thing I dont like is, easily to get fingerprints.

Diztronic hands down ! as it is slimmer and offers great protection. In my opinion it is the best TPU case for G2.

This is absolutely a great phone. No regret switching from S4. This phone takes great pictures with optical image stabilizer. My whole Japan trip only use this phone as primary camera. Nothing to complain.

not sure because I never consider cases that are so extremely thick and ugly. To me a case should fit onto a phone the same as a perfectly fitted evening dress on a lady, not like body armor and kevlar bulletproof vest on a soldier.

Are you using ioroot? Older version won't work anymore, I also had some difficulties when I want to flash Cyanogenmod 11 on my G2 (had to root and then install TWRP recovery). Already asked about this on V2 2 days ago sadly no one replied. So I did my own research for 4-5 hours, managed to root, installed TWRP and flash CM11.

I'm using Spigen Slim Armor Blue color. Is a bit bulky but it protects my G2 perfectly. The quality good. No regrets.

Finger prints at rear of case,no problem. Once a while,just wipe it.

Check what apps are giving you wakelocks.

My G2 drops barely few percent overnight. Very efficient. And I have active push notifications for:-
- 2 Gmail accounts
- Facebook
- Whatsapp
- Telegram
- WeChat
- Etc.

This is mine, although I'm using Cyanogenmod 11. Like shockk said, check for apps that have wakelock, this thing prevents your phone from going into sleep mode.

I'm not entirely sure how to disable except maybe trying to force stop that app in settings, I've never had this wakelock problem so far so that's why. You could try use this app:

I think you need to install TWRP 2.7.0.0 first before flashing custom rom, atleast that's what I did when I want to flash Cyanogenmod 11.

anyone can tell me why my g2 is always stuck at HSDPA instead of 3G? When I change my simcard to other phone, it can detect 3G.

my gf bought yesterday at seven too ...the travel adapter is normal 2 pin plug it is usable in malaysia ...anyone notice the charger by LG is 1.7A ? larger than normal charger thats why it is slow charging with powerbank i guess

I also bought from seven mobile and there is no manual inside the phone box. I though the Sim card need to open the back cover to put it in. Lucky I Google the way to insert the Sim card. Haha.

I'm still on stock rom with root only. Haven't flash any custom recovery .. I'm very satisfied with my battery life now. Wanna ask some experience user here.. What custom rom offer the best optimize for battery life and smoothness? I'm interested with the 4k recording mod though.. Any custom rom already built in the 4k mod?

Guys i just sold my Nexus 5 to get G2

Bought from 7 Mobile Red Colour

Have to admit the display of the G2 is amazingly bright and clear compared to my Nexus 5

But takes some time to get used to the back lock keys/volume keys

But I don't like the LG user interface for smartphones looks very cartoon-ish

Now just installed Nova Launcher so can remove the LG UI

So far very satisified with the phone

Just want to share my experience with Cyanogenmod 11, really lovin' it. Simply faster and smoother than stock LG, and more importantly it's beautiful. Hate the LG stock ugly skin. Some people said NIGHTLY is unstable, but I read some reviews and they said there's nothing buggy worth mentioning. I've been using CM11 for 5 days so far and still kicking, no problem at all.

Rooting will void warranty. I once did flash back to stock rom but the status rooted in recovery I think, is still there so I guess yeah.

There's a problem with LG. Even if you update to KK via OTA or by flashing KDZ, it will show rooted. Mine does & I'm not rooted.

I revert back to stock 4.2.2, checked and it says I'm still rooted, and then upgrade KK via OTA. I thought you couldn't get rid of the root status even after flashing stock rom. Sad.

My timeline:

Bought G2 with 4.2.2 stock -> root -> KK update available, couldn't update with rooted, so flash back to stock 4.2.2 -> upgraded KK via OTA -> Getting bored, read some stuff about Cyanogenmod --> Decided to flash Cyanogenmod 11

It's not much of a problem though. CM roms are awesome selection if you want some side project kinda. There will always be updates.

Battery life is extremely good for a smartphone. It depends on your usage too. Roughly can last a day without charge.

Spigen Slim Armor? Better go for other casing, coz the 'slim' is only in the name. It's very bulky.

Hi i want to update my case which my device had a crack faulty on lcd n digitizer. I managed to replace them by myself by watching youtube and working superb.
Thank god i received my lcd+digitizer+tool kit+scrn protector replacement in 2week after made ordered from ebay, cost me about rm300 only. Save my $$$$ 😃

Yes mine after upgrade to kitkat my device batt draining very fast. Many apps running on background.
I followed guide from one of a blog which i reset factory and don`t download LG app updates. Then I rooted my device install root uninstaller & quarantine app. I uninstalled specified app & block/freeze LG software and other unnecessary app.
Lastly install 2x battery to preserve more batt. Now my G2 can run longer than 1 day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

just bought the black LG G2 D802 from 7 Mobile last nite. count me in. thumbup.gif

So far pretty satisfied with the phone. any additional advice from the experience user for casing. so far i only see the slim armor available in malaysian market.

I always get more than a day of battery life, no mobile data but WiFi always turned on, and GPS. Usual usage on Facebok, 9GAG, Youtube streaming, music playback, Whatsapp and standard SMS/Calls.

I got a white G2, bought the red spiegen armor, looks really well with it icon_rolleyes.gif

Im very surprised to get this result. Wifi on, data on, surfing the net, play some temple run. And up til today still left 43%. This started when i reduce my brightness to 60% instead of 95%. Niceeeee

Other cases can't b used wif glass sp? I used the nuglass tempered glass sp (side unstick) wif iface first class. If the glass sp fully stick the casing does not disturb the side.

I never had any problem claim for warranty for AP. Infact, i prefer AP than ori. At directd, Just walk in and pass the phone, no question ask whether ur phone rooted or not. Fast service also

Just updated to CloudyStock 2.1. Notice there is a feature added called On-Screen Phone. What a sweet feature drool.gif Can fully control phone from pc. Quite useful for a guy like me, since everyday looking at multiple screens at work. So now, no longer need to reach my phone to reply those whatsapp msg @work tongue.gif

Double tap to wake is there, but the knock off is not. You have to knock on the status bar to lock. But yeah it would be great if they include knock off in future.

Well I just found out you can set double tap empty space to lock screen with combination of Apex Launcher + Gravity Box.

To install custom recovery, older method won't work on 4.4.2. You need to get AutoRec apps, get it here:
http://www.droidviews.com/install-twrp-rec...d-4-4-2-kitkat/

It should also work on F320K since it says it supports all model.

After you get custom recovery I guess you can flash custom rom like usual, atleast that's what I did to flash CM11.
EDIT: Just read it and at the end there's a download section, just download apk for F320K

If only I knew about CLoudyStock earlier I would have used it too. I only use the KnockOff feature though I have to use Apex Launcher if I want something similar to that on CM11.

You can knock off on CM 11 by hitting twice on status bar at top. smile.gif It turns of like that on CM11.

I've got TWRP on my phone. I am on stock rom though and I updated to 20B OTA and installed it when I restarted my phone it goes to TWRP directly. And when I go to system on TWRP it still goes to TWRP. Any idea wht's wrong?

U updated official update via TWRP? that's the reason . you should never perform official update via custom recoveries .

Full wipe might help as it will remove the update files. Or just follow the bootloop thread instruction in XDA for official update with custom recoveries .

As long as u have custom recovery, don't perform OTA if not most of the time u will face Boot loop.

Try to read properly and make sure u understand what you are doing and be careful not to have typo. These commands removes the OTA files so if u have typo, it might remove other files instead.

You can type those commands in TWRP under the option advance --> terminal commands

As long as you still have custom recovery, u can't . u can either flash a kdz to restore the stock recovery or just go stock based custom ROM like cloudy Roms which have even more feature than this OTA update

i just updated... and now i can proceed to root... and install xpose..
but i notice not much to tweak as you need to pay.. and i don't see any attractive tweak... just leave it as it is and most importantly its root and i can install adaway to remove those annoying ads...

Night mode now takes night pics brilliantly, even exceed HTC M8 in low light conditions. Also can take 4k videos which makes the camera and video on par with the latest models.

Yes. CM11 can KnockOff on status bar only. What I'm looking for is KnockOff like stock G2 where you can double tap on empty space to lock. There's a way: get Apex Launcher and Graviti Box but I like my Google Launcher. Dilemma..

If you're talking about the audio hiss/distortion, V20B firmware fixed this.

What Kit Kat baseband version (modem) are you guys on ?

Check in Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Baseband version

If you have installed custom firmware before, most probably you are on M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190034 ?

I made a new flashable modem from D80220B Malaysian firmware, the version of the baseband is M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190084

I am not sure if it will improve voice clarity / better signal / 3G/4G speed. In my area signal is about the same with the previous version I was using (M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190034)

If you guys want to try I can upload it somewhere.

Little comment on SGP, good protection, the only problem I found is the casing will block some of the camera flash

Just got my new g2 today..everything seems nice..but how come i feel that the battery level drop so fast after i update to the latest software?? And it shows the expected time to use is only 8hrs plus when still got 97percent battery..any idea?? sad.gif

glass M SP. Works well. If looking for a cheaper.. see whether nillkin sells glass SP for G2.
In short ONLY glass SP works well with Diztronic TPU cases.

Chill. Let the OS settle. After every update.. batt drains a bit faster. And it says it will die after 8 hours as you must be gaming with 100% brightness or watching a 1080P video with 100 brightness. It then calculates the battery time accordingly.

My G2 firstly i get also like that. Then i kasi drain all the battery to like 8 % after that recharge to full 100 %.

After that i can get 6 hour screen on time with Wi-Fi on from morning till evening and either 60 to 70 % brightness.

I get this Tepshine Glass SP from Seven Mobile yesterday. Quality quite good and impressive. I believe this Glass SP go with your Diztronic will be the best. The case confirm wont kacau your SP. Pics below.

This Glass SP is fully 100 % transparent and its 0.3mm thick. Thus after i use also no fingerprint. It is like Matte in Glass SP. Only got dust due to KL ahem ahem. sweat.gif

RM 40. Nicely fit without bubble and dust. Mine side stick nicely + mine is curved glass. laugh.gif

Actually i ordered from them and waited around 6 days only got. If you want to buy from them remember SMS or call them b4 go to their shop due to their business is too good until very very fast finish stock.

U must check if it is the type that leaves the sides uncovered, otherwise there will be bubbles all around the sides of the phone.

I got buy before glass sp for my friend last time from eBay took around 3 weeks to reach my house. Packaging wise also not bad with those bubble bags so the item is secure.

Remember to tell the seller at eBay to remarks fragile if you buy something like glass or easy break item because you will never know on the way to Malaysia how is your item being treated.

Mine if 50 % only can reach 3 hour 20 minutes. Maybe due to brightness and WiFi.

Actually the SOT can differ greatly depending on many factors . most of the time 5-6 hours usage with 10% or less battery left.

1 major thing that can cause lots of drain that people may not aware is the cell signal. If it fluctuates a lot, battery life gonna be bad even data is not on.

Btw, I'm on Cloudystock 2.1 Korean stock based.

Twrp is working, its just that the new kitkat makes it so damn hard to install recovery.
Anyway, i used this.

And it works, installed twrp. But a note if youre planning on using stock lg, youll get bootloop on updates. Do at own risk.

Correct me if im wrong, im no coder or hacker, but i found out that knock code is kernel based.
So unless you have roms that support knock code, you wont have it.

Actually kinda hard to get any accessories for our phone since its not officially bring by LG Malaysia. I bought all my casing from online retailer. I just received my metal bumper casing from casefanatic.com. It took 1 month to reach me from hong kong fuuuuu whistling.gif Good luck hunting your desired case thumbup.gif

I use glass M and no issues at all with diztronic. You gotta be careful while applying if alignment out you cant take it out back and try again. Therefore if allignment is perfect. You won't get any bubbles or anything on side. Mind you that the screen is curved on borders so the glass M only covers the non curved part.

Your SIM card originally is Micro Sim or Cut SIM ?

If you are using Cut SIM then i recommend you to go apply for a Micro SIM then you put in your new SIM and your prob will solve.

If you are using Micro SIM then take out your SIM card and gently blow the SIM slot because sometimes might have dust or the SIM rust stain.

If both thing above still don`t work then i doubt your phone SIM Connector / Reader got problem and you have to send to warranty.

direct d is one of reputable shop. you can buy from them. if you buy g2 now you will buy flagship phone at low price compare to if you buy g3 that will absolutely sold at high price. there is only small upgrade from snapdragon 800 to 801.it you targeting real big upgrading then better wait end of this year for 64 bit soc.

i bought mine at direct also phone no problem..but pay higher then what they posted in mudah and lelong..
make sure buyer take a screen shot to show their post. dont dont expect they give the free gift as they post in their ads..

Well usage of my phone battery for the pass 3 days. ( Balace still got 19 % battery if use finish till 1 % i think can get 7 to 8 hour SOT. )

Things that i use pass 3 days. ( WhatsApp / Phone Calls / Messaging / Facebook / Photobucket / Internet Browsing / Camera and Play Store Updates. ) ( Data on while i am out / WiFi on when i am at home ) ( Brightness constant on 70 % )

If youre planning to go custom rom all the way, then yes.
If no, you want to use stock LG rom, you will get boot loop on upgrade firmware processes.

My lg g2 fell into a drain slip from my hand. The physical body is ok but it soak in the drain water. It cannot be on and cannot be charged after I dry it using hair dryer. I bought it from seven mobile. What should I do now? If going for repair where should I send it?

u should not use hair dryer bro...u should first keep it with 'beras' for nite let the water inside the hp to be absorb by the rice..later u can turn it on or charge..u cannot charge it or turn it on immediately after draining in water

Cracking sounds comes from kitkat update. I not sure was it fixed by LG yet. Cozbim using custome stock firmware

I will pass G3 I guess. Snapdragon 801 with 2K screen is a pull down in performance. Waiting for G4 with snapdragon 805 or 810 and 2K screen.

If rumors are accurate, then I think LG has really nailed it. Imagine the M8 sort-of built combined with the potential of the G2 or better. The only problem I find with my G2 is the plastic feel, lackluster camera and sometimes GPS doesn't work well. Other than that, it's better than most Androids out there.

We can't judge too early if the resolution will affect battery, let alone if speakers are placed at the back (not sure where this came from, but sounds pretty ridiculous). Rumors are even going around that the phone will come packed with Snapdragon 805 already.

I also don't know how come my battery so strong. Compare to last time my Sony Xperia Z Ultra this LG G2 strong a lot in battery performance.

To go back to stock, just down load the LG Mobile Support Tool

go to download mode by inserting usb while phone is turned off and insert usb while pressing on the volume up button, then use mobile support tool and update recovery, worked for me.

for updates, i dont have much luck on that, seems like i cant conenct to the lg update servers, kept on showing no update available.

I think it looks brilliant. The speaker, no idea why they put at the back but they say it's louder like G Pro 2. I'm speculating that the black thing at the left of the camera is AF Assist Light.

after one day put in Tupperware with silica gel my phone revive again.
but the camera is bad, all picture become like in a mist.
lucky, it can be use again. very scared.
it look like our phone has circuit protection to prevent it from short circuit. just my thought only.

Lol so many mishaps to g2s everywhere. Got my slim armor..gotta say the downside is its very bulky. However, it looks premium and is very soild in built. Think I'll learn to live with it.

Do you guys LG g2 lag when viewing pdf file? My LG seems lag when viewing it. And browsing certain websites. Cause my screen a bit unresponsive. Other than that it is smooth.

update for my case of phone drop into water.
eeverything is back to normal including camera.
the only problem remains is volume up button will make the volume go down but the volume down button working normally. now I have two volume down button. hahaha

Yeah I also not sure will buy g3 because of the size. Current g2 size is perfect. LG should improve g2 overall performance on g3 but not increasing the size.

it works better in kitkat...the phone was buggy in JB.. issues i could remember when i first had it was irresponsive knock on, screen still blackedout after a call (proximity sensor wasn't responding) and touch screen ghosted itself (lagged and wasn't responding to touches properly until you turn off and on the screen again)

this is my second G2 and i'm loving it every moment.

I think i know why, verizon sets..haha so probably it has something to do with those which came with the telco as their firmware is slightly different from the international versions, plus when it was released vodafone had it first and it was full of the bloatware from the respective telcos...the units you would find here would definitely be either the korean versions or the international (d802) ones..

i don't have a nexus 5 but as far as i read their threads, i read the battery life was one of the major issues..as in if you are looking at a g2, ur looking at a note 3 kinda of battery life rather den a s4....i'm not bragging, its seriously that good..

for hardware wise, i think nexus 5 and lg g2 have very close interiors. you gain a 0.2 inch screen estate as well as a 13 mp vs 8 mp camera but both has OIS. Front camera is 2.1 for the G2 and 1.3 for the N5. Processor and ram is the same. The base G2 is 32gb internal by default vs 16gb units for N5 (yes there are 32gb's but not too sure if the price is way higher) and both do not have microsd slots as well. Last but not least, you have a mammoth battery and capacity size apart, i read somewhere G2 has the same kind of batteries used in tablets which is why it can last longer than average phones with 3000mah...(this is from my personal experience from the xperia z1)


No doubt my most loved phones are the z1 and G2, i think the only thing G2 loses to it is the underwater capabilities and photography abilities. But at least the G2 doesn't overheat and prevent me from using the camera when the phone gets hot, something which i found the z1 doing very often during my 3 weeks of ownership.
