New user reporting in, early. I will be getting it by next week, it will be a Mid 2013 model(Latest, I think?) I believe. So, I've been a Windows PC user for my whole life. I'm not an Apple/Mac fan. I don't like Apple/Mac/iOS and I don't hate it too, I'm just kinda neutral. Lastly, I need an introduction. Anyone mind explaining everything to me? From a Windows user switching to Mac perspective. But it's not like I will be 100% totally dumping Windows, though.
Edit: OH WOW! Am I a little too late or something? LOL! [http://www.macrumors.com/2014/04/24/update...airs-next-week/] This post has been edited by JkzsBlog: Apr 25 2014, 04:06 AM |

MacBook Air claims that battery life can last for 12hrs.., it is if only it's running mavericks? If I run on window will it last that long also?

Do you think it'll be recommended if I wait for the new 13" Macbook Air? College will start in July this year, and I'm looking for a good and reliable laptop, hopefully around the RM3k range. Or do I wait?
Thanks. |

Hi I think waiting for the new MBA a good idea. Let hope they upgrade the graphic too but if they decide to go with retina then im afraid price will go up and pray USD dont go up too.

If you can wait then you should as the latest model always has the latest hardware and better specs.Thanks. However, if they decided to go with Retina display on the latest MBA, then the price will most likely go up. But at least the price of the old model will go down by a little bit. |

guys.. i dont know if this is the correct place.
My macbook air recently keeps auto shutdown. its like overheat problem. on awhile, then it will auto shutdown. then have to wait awhile and on back. but im wondering is there any way i can take all the document inside? because i dont think i will have enough time to copy out all the document before it shutdown. Macbook Air 13" bought on early 2013. |

I'm not a gamer or anything, just want a reliable laptop that would not break down after a year or two of usage. My previous laptops ( Acer, HP ) had been laggy, problem causing ( fan broke down, overheating problems, display problems, batter problem If you really need it right now, den go ahead, jz max the ram and considering upgrade the ssd. If you can wait , den perhaps wait until after WWDC? The rumour about a new revolutionary Macbook Air later this year is confusing me, I hope I won't cringe if I get the Macbook Air now. |

Windows itself is a very good OS. Judging from your previous encounter, those are just some hardware problems after long term usage. You should have just look for some other better manufacturer that can do a better job at that. Take DELL, for an example. They also provide you good warranty services if there's any hardware breakdown or what so ever. Not to say Apple/Mac OS is not good, it will also face the same problem after long term/excessive usage. I just wanna let you know how to look at this matter with a correct way, no offense though. The rumour about a new revolutionary Macbook Air later this year is confusing me, I hope I won't cringe if I get the Macbook Air now. |

Agree with you. Being a user of Mac for the past 4 years and Windows for my desktop, the long old argument about Windows being an inferior operating system compared to Mac OS is no longer valid these days. I am more willing to pay for a Windows machine as much as I'm willing to pay for a Macbook Air/Pro. |

Hi. I have a question, what would a bump in RAM do to a laptop? Is it worth upgrading to 8GB memory ( MacBook Air ) before purchasing? Would it be faster?
And what is the difference between RAM memory, processor speed and 128GB ( which is advertised on MacBook Air )? I'm clueless when it comes to these things. |

QUOTE(maximR @ May 1 2014, 02:42 PM) Hi. I have a question, what would a bump in RAM do to a laptop? Is it worth upgrading to 8GB memory ( MacBook Air ) before purchasing? Would it be faster? If you use heavy apps, having more RAM is definitely better. The difference is barely noticeable with light usage though. And what is the difference between RAM memory, processor speed and 128GB ( which is advertised on MacBook Air )? I'm clueless when it comes to these things. So, is more RAM worth it ? I would say yes, if you can afford it. Bear in mind, you will not be able to upgrade the RAM anymore in the future. If you go with 4GB, then you are stuck with 4GB forever. QUOTE(maximR @ May 1 2014, 02:42 PM) And what is the difference between RAM memory, processor speed and 128GB ( which is advertised on MacBook Air )? RAM = Random Access Memory. RAM is like a table, the more tables you have, the more things that you can do at once.I'm clueless when it comes to these things. Processor Speed = Usually the higher, the better, however, other things will also affect the performance, such as the number of cores, etc. 128GB = Refers to the SSD storage capacity that the MBA has. You can store more files if the capacity is larger. This post has been edited by Townshend: May 2 2014, 08:42 PM |

I don't see why they should separate the development of between Windows and Mac versions of Microsoft office. As far as I know they are pushing for office 365, accessible via any platform as long as you have supported browsers.http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/mac-softwar...images-3456798/ http://www.macrumors.com/2014/03/11/office-for-mac-2014/ |

Maybe that is a common issue with the heat, all laptop/mac producing heat while operating right? My iPad Air also feel some heat at the back if I surf at maximum brightness. |

Guys, I'm just asking. I'm getting a Ducky Zero DK2108 mechanical keyboard by next week. It is not obviously not a Mac keyboard, but will it still be compatible with MBA? Maybe at least just for typing?

QUOTE(JkzsBlog @ May 15 2014, 09:41 AM) huh? Of course can. By default for each keyboard, modifiers are arranged left to right: Ctrl Win Alt Space Alt Win Fn Ctrl. For example, Ctrl Option Command ... So, mechanical keyboards by default is compatible with Mac. |

Boot camp = once partition set, cant change except starting all over again. Need to restart to change between Mac / Win.Parallel = space occupied not fix. Mac running, Windows can run in another window. |

hi. I''m 13" MBA user, to make a battery last longer, I set the brightness to 12 click, use safari to surf internet, I'm rare use chrome unless the website that I want to surf contain a lot of moving graphic or video. chrome has built in flash player, so it will consume much more battery. only open the apps that you want to use, close the apps you never use at the moment.
apple magic mouse? |

Currently studying computer studies and install windows is a must for .net development, last question is do the temperature goes higher when running windows through parallel or bootcamp? Well, I'm doing coding and system admin stuffs in my 2013 MBA, but its not .Net, I'm doing JAVA using eclipse. For me while coding, your battery life will not be harmed, but while you are compiling it or running it (on Tomcat, as for me), it will drain your battery quite a lot. That is me using a native Eclipse IDE on mac. But my system admin stuffs, I need to do it on Windows which, in this case I use a lot of parallel desktop. In this case, its quite similar, like the situation before, if your windows doesnt do anything (idle) your battery life still good, but not as good as while u r running only MacOS, however it is tolerable. When I do a lot of remote desktop or MS SQL stuffs, yea ofcos battery life will shorten, just like when I'm code and compile in my Native MacOS eclipse. The battery life that I ever observed when I'm doing a lot of stuffs with coding and/or Parallel desktop is roughly around 5 - 7 hours until the battery left only 5% I guess. Then 5 - 7 hours is a LOT if you compare to any other Acer or Asus ultrabook I guess. As for temperature, it WILL be hot, but not all the time. What I mean is, it is only hot when your parallel desktop is busy, when idle it is normal temp. From what I observe, MBA fan's rpm will not increase automatically unless you are running a very heavy task (like games), it will stay aroung 2000rpm which is very quiet. However, if you want a better temp, you can install a software called iStat. It can control your exhaust fan, up to 6500rpm, but beware of battery life |

After u use the trackpad for quite sometime and get comfortable with it, you will not feel comfortable to use even the most expensive Logitech or Microsoft mouse, you feel something is missing thats for sure. But different with magic mouse, there is still apple trackpad feel there, if you need more touch gestures on your magic mouse you can install BetterTouchTool and your magic mouse can be used for up to 4 fingers gestures, that I call it awesome This post has been edited by g9000z: May 22 2014, 10:12 AM |

Share something like what are the bloatwares/apps that I should remove from it and how do I make the battery life last longer. You can remove Garage Band if you don't use this app (you can always download it in App Store later). Use apps such as Disk Diag to help clean unneeded files and free up disk space on your Mac. Don't forget to learn about gestures (you can do that in System Preferences > Trackpad). You can integrate your social accounts (such as Facebook) in System Preferences so you can post directly on your Mac without having to open web browser. You will have "Via OS X" under your Facebook status if you do this. Lastly, don't forget to turn on Find My Mac in iCloud so you can locate your Mac in case it is missing. There are more tips, but I think that's all for now. QUOTE(fuelsave @ May 22 2014, 04:41 PM) is chrome really bad? i was using mozilla and my processor usage always very high... I am thinking to purchase the 1.3GHz model instead of the 1.4GHz. Figured that just point one speed bump will not make any difference.

hey i wonder, is the Macbook Air hardware specs good enough for professional applications like, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and productivity apps? I worry the Intel HD 5000, is not powerful enough to handle the graphics.. And what about Intel Broadwell chips? They may feature in next year's Macbook Air. Should i wait for that instead?

It depends on your workloads. I wouldn't recommend this if you are gonna do high end production. If you are gonna just do some light stuff like me, then go ahead. My usual workloads on this are just web surfing with Chrome and simple/light editing in Photoshop. |

I had such bad Apple. Got a 1.3GHz 13.3" MBA, the notebook had a clicking issue on the bottom case. Tomorrow need to go to service center for further check.
Is it possible to get an exchange unit? |

I am not much of a professional in the hardware specifications department, but if you are gonna maintain the same workloads as mine for the next 5 years, then 4GB of RAM should be totally fine. Just to be on the safe side, go with 8GB of RAM. Because you are going to use it for the next 5 years, and it is a very long time. Plus, like one of my friends. He likes to keep tabs open on Chrome, a very large amount of tabs. Even until the tabs section can only display each icon for the websites of every single tab, that's when 8GB of RAM comes in handy. |

But, the price will probably be higher than the 13 inch MBA. And with the 13 inch rMBP getting a lower cost option already, the 13inch MBA may be removed permanently to make space for the 12 inch retina MBA. i really like the 13inch MBA, 11 inch i feel is too small. and the side bezels are too big.. So thats why i'm really considering a 13 inch MBA since i think it fulfills almost all my needs, just i worry is 4gb of ram for multitasking might be not enough... |

I would say, something like this. A few documents in Microsoft Word, editing 2 or 3 photos in Photoshop, 10 tabs and above opened in one window of Chrome, that's it. You MBA might be experiencing stuttering or slowing down if you proceed with heavier workload than that, if you are going with 4GB of RAM. You would probably want to go with 8GB of RAM, because you are gonna use it for at least 5 years like you said. You might increasing your work in the time duration, which why you should get better RAM. |

This is my personal experience sharing.I've done a lot of times transaction from Apple Online store before, be it huge or small amount, all my parcels arrived safely and in superb packaging (protective carton box outside). When my parcel did not arrive on time as per Apple's shown schedule, i raised complaints. All my Apple products are bought from Apple Online Store. One 'hassle', the warranty always start from the date they ship out the product, so i will always need to send them emails with proof of receiving(screenshot of DHL delivery status), and they will adjust accordingly. |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 24 2014, 03:29 PM) But. if i get from retailer. so i wont be able to get 8gb ram. thats the problem. if i get retailer , i need to know if 4gb ram is enough or not.. If i get online, i dont know if i'll get the package delivery safely or not. stresss Buyers can't get 8GB model from retailers? Retailers only sell 4GB models? Sorry, I don't know much about retailers for Macbook Air, because I got mine for free, my cousin gave it to me. |

QUOTE(eikozai @ May 24 2014, 03:31 PM) This is my personal experience sharing. i see... so when its late, do you call Apple? or DHL? and u mean ,you can start your warranty on date of receving package instead of date of purchase?I've done a lot of times transaction from Apple Online store before, be it huge or small amount, all my parcels arrived safely and in superb packaging (protective carton box outside). |

We buy from Apple, we call Apple. Whatever in between will be responsible by Apple. YOu didn't sign the receiving package means you haven't start bear the responsibility & liability.Warranty should start from the date of receive, not purchase. My MBA, i placed order 15 minutes after launched, but it took 4 weeks for Malaysian market to receive the product. SO you think its wise to waste 1 month of warranty without the product? Hehe, definitely no. And the shipment took 5 days to arrive, due to parcel shipped out on Thursday, and DHL not delivering on Saturday & Sunday. Apple initial warranty start from Thursday(the date they start shipping out), but i raise complaint for an amendment to start on the day i received. Hehe.. and Apple response positively in just 2-3 days. Benefit of purchasing online is, hope their system is bugged and you might get some discount, handsomely. I remember when they refreshed their MBA line back in few weeks ago, some of the people get 'FREE' upgrades, where Apple charge them on basic spec price only. Hehehe.. I get my Time Capsule discounted 25% (RM250) off during the Red Friday Sales early this year, when its suppose to give only 10%(RM100). |

Yes, DHL need IC of receiver. Means you need update your Apple ID info before you do the transaction. There are 2 name and address, one is for billing (which is definitely your info) while another one is shipping info, where the name can be anyone who will receive on your behalf and the address of your purchase to be ship to. |

wanna ask, does any macbook air user here, use the SD card slot to make as a permanent memory expansion using SD card..? Is it a good idea to do that..? I read online news, there are some SD cards designed to fit flush on macbook air SD slot and make as extra storage. Are there any of those available in Malaysia..?

hey guys, I wish to get the spec of 256gb & 8gb ram..
It will cost around RM4k.. and shall I buy the Apple Care Plan? The Care Plan cost 800+? It will be quite hard for me to afford this amount. |

If that was the case, it was so expensive for me to afford a 4.8k mba.. For example, if you buy MBA on May, you can still buy ACPP one month before the standard warranty ends. http://www.apple.com/my/support/products/faqs.html |

QUOTE(Lynixx @ Jun 3 2014, 04:24 PM) Depends on your programming platform. I have recently just started my college(ICT related course), my lecturer told me that Mac is kinda useless for me right now. Because most of our coursework/assignment will be done through Windows. Only if you're developing apps for iOS, then go ahead. |

QUOTE(Lynixx @ Jun 3 2014, 04:24 PM) those 2 don't really use much resource if it's strictly template css/jquery etc coding only. but if you have a local server(apache, oracle, mysql etc) within the pc itself for testing then you might need to choose the one with more ram. personally i run windows xp within virtualbox with all the environment pre-setup. Each project = 1vm ... easy for deployment and fixing. |

QUOTE(maximR @ Jun 5 2014, 09:58 PM) Yeah, not sure if it's the size of the screen that I'm not used to, the resolution, the refresh rate, or the brightness. If this persists I might have to try out MBP. The Retina MBP is great but however it feels too sore for the eyes to adjust. If not mistaken you can, as in Mavericks, u extend yr display via appletv to yr external display, instead of mirroring display, but then u can confirm it again by testing on an apple tv and cif can't, anything i can do with it to achieve both simultaneously function. airplay movie while i can continue work with worksheet? |

Plus, you can safely move Mac apps that use drag-and-drop installation to the external drive too. However it is not recommended with Mac apps that use installer.Just drag and drop the app inside the application folder to your external drive. Bear in mind, the performance might be slower and you need carry around your external drive with you almost all the time. |

may i ask here, is it any danger for swap to be consistently used on the macbook air? Cause, i got my machine just a few days ago, and i've seen swap of about 78mb already despite just doing itunes and app store only. I thought mavericks was supposed to compress memory making it less likely to swap first, but i've read that swap can actually damage the flash storage in the long run, is it true?

It's true actually, but memory management system in OS X takes advantage of the compressed inactive memory by writing the compressed data to full length drive segments. It will both increase performance and reduce wear on SSD.BTW, in your case did you check whether your Mac fully utilized the RAM ? Have you shutdown/restart your Mac ? Do you keep launching apps or do you remember using memory intensive apps ? If yes, this results in Mavericks swapping inactive data to the SSD due to your Mac running out of space. |

you must be using a model with 4GB ram to have such high swap.. unfortunately i don't think there's any work around (since you cannot upgrade ram) other than constantly monitoring apps and properly quit them when not using.

I just bought a new MBA last week. I am experiencing some issues with the audio from speaker.... The audio breaks even when the volume is only 40-50%... However, when I listen via earphone, the audio is fine..
Not sure if this is related, but the audio breaks when I'm streaming online videos... |

QUOTE(money_lemonade @ Jun 18 2014, 09:38 PM) Apparently it happens online and offline... When listening music on iTunes also same thing happened... Try the methods below and see if any of them help.Is there something wrong with my MBA? 1) Try updating your OS (Apple logo > Software Update). 2) Go to Finder > Utilities > Audi MIDI Setup > Built-in Output > Output > Set Format to 96000.0 Hz. 3) Try doing PRAM/SMC reset. |

QUOTE(Taesica @ Jun 21 2014, 04:01 PM) I plan to get a case to protect my mba, but I personally don't really like the keyboard protector, and any palm guard can recommend? In my opinion, better get the keyboard protector incase if you ever drop liquid or something on it.. |

Personally im thinking about foofbag. |

I have been using my Mac and even all of my gadgets pretty much naked. As long as you keep the device in a compartment or pocket solely for the device then you should be good. My MacBook is always in my bagpack sleeve when not in use.

QUOTE(Townshend @ Jun 18 2014, 10:02 PM) Try the methods below and see if any of them help. Thanks for the advise given. Tried the 1st 2 methods, but still the audio breaks... 1) Try updating your OS (Apple logo > Software Update). 2) Go to Finder > Utilities > Audi MIDI Setup > Built-in Output > Output > Set Format to 96000.0 Hz. 3) Try doing PRAM/SMC reset. How to do method #3? Just wondering, is it normal for audio to break if volume turned up to 100%? I'm used to max the volume when I was using a Toshiba laptop before this, and the audio was fine. Hence I'm not sure if I'm not supposed to do this with my MBA.. |

Was having second thoughts about selling it..But finally decided to do so.. Since its lying there on the sofa doing nothing. Except playing youtubes for kids.

QUOTE(iamkent @ Jun 26 2014, 08:11 PM) You mean MacBook Pro right because Mac Pro has 9699 price tag.13" MacBook Pro Retina price is 4199 for the base model. It comes with 4GB RAM too and plus another 340 to get 8GB (or 680 for 16GB). Base 13" MBA with 8GB RAM = MYR 3539 Base 13" rMBP with 8GB RAM = MYR 4539 If you ask me , it is definitely worth it to get the 8GB RAM because you can't upgrade the RAM after purchase. i'm very happy with how the Macbook air performs on Windows 7 through bootcamp. Boot up is so fast, shut down is also wicked fast. the only annoyance is the battery life. its far shorter than on OS X. OS X i can get up to 17 hours on one charge, but on Windows 7, it ran down to 5% in about 8 hours. I use professional 3D graphics drawing softwares like CREO Parametric and SolidWorks and they work very well with no lags since there's no Mac version of these softwares.

QUOTE(yuka @ Jun 28 2014, 01:17 PM) not noticeable. When heavy tasking on Bootcamp, then it gets warm if you touch the back where the fan is. other than that, its all fine. But one thing i noticed, in Windows properties, it shows that the Core i5, only turbo boosts up to 1.9Ghz instead of the 2.6Ghz advertsed by Apple. Is this a bootcamp configuration? |

Safari, photoshop, iTunes, app store, and preview open, with 4 desktop windows running, it manages those 4gb just fine. And when compressed memory kicks in, makes it look even better. No slow down whatsoever. i'm fine with my MBA in 4GB RAM too. Don't worry on that |

Guys, I know MBA we cannot upgrade memory/RAM as it is soldered on the main board. But what about the SSD? Can we replace/upgrade the SSD ?

Not sure since 2013 MBA uses PCIe-based SSD, you can do that on older MBA models though. This post has been edited by Townshend: Jul 4 2014, 06:46 PM |

I photoshop, web browse, do CREO, use MATLAB, and of course iTunes on, it uses up nearly all of the RAM, 3.96GB , but should you want more stuff open, its no problem cause, thats when compressed memory kicks in. In my usage trends i technically have no need to worry a slow running macbook at all. It does everything i throw at it just fine~ |

Hi guys, i need some opinions.
I found an offer of macbook retina 13inch end 2013, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd for rm4.2k and a macbook air 13inch 8gb ram and 256gb ssd for 4k (in apple store after student discount). what i wanna ask is, is the retina display & iris graphic (+extra 200g of weight) worth it? since i really favour the lightness MBA and i do some photoshop. AI and indesign and so far i havent seen any great comparisons that show iris graphic is far better than hd5000. so if u guys are in my shoes, which will u guys choose? thanks! Ordered a 2014 MBA i7, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can finally rekindle my hobby of effing around making silly games. If iOS didn't require an Apple product to port to I probably would've spent the money on a proper gaming laptop but hey that's Apple for you.
Hope the 128GB won't bite me in the behind in the future if I need to dual boot OSes or something. |

Lo and behold, not an hour after I posted that my MBA arrived in the mail. Ordered it Friday last week, for what it's worth. This is my first Mac product (technically I played around with my father's Apple II a lot but that doesn't count) so hopefully the learning curve won't be too big so I can get going quickly.
QUOTE(pmsoo @ Jul 17 2014, 12:36 PM) That won't happen especially when you have sufficient RAM built in. Yeah I never skimp on the RAM so that's good to know. I might get a Thunderbolt drive down the road and install the Mac OS there, and put Windows on the internal drive. We'll see how I do with just the Mac OS for now. I'm not even sure if that's the right terminology, Mac OS? Apple OS?The real beauty of Thunderbolt (and even for USB3.0 for that matter) is that you can really boot seamlessly with external drives. |

In my opinion, I will certainly order MBA with 8gb RAM and 128GB SSD.
8gb RAM means a lot of headroom for current and near future requirements. RAM is not upgradeable hence, better to take care of this part first. 128GB SSD is PCIe based and it upgradeable. For now, upgrades are either not available yet or is too expensive. But in time, it will be available like just how the SATA based SSD is available to the pre-2012 MBA now. Also, SSD prices drop over time. Also SSD has a lifespan and will fail after a certain time. So best bet, get MBA with 8gb RAM & 128SSD. After a while upgrade the SSD to even 512Gb if you want later on when it is available and is more affordable. |

Well, if you run many apps/heavy apps at the same time, having more RAM would help the system running faster. |

I was agonising for a week over the same thing but decided to order one once I saw the rumour that the Intel Broadwell chips may be delayed to 2015. Now that we know that's not true, you might as well wait until the Sep/Oct Apple event to see if they announce that.Appreciate some opinions. The way I see it, MBAs seem to retain a pretty high resale value so if something new does come along I'll just sell this one and upgrade to whatever newer one that comes out -- if the specs seem worth it to me. If I have to sacrifice too much battery life or the graphics chip upgrade is small, then I'll probably keep my MBA. |

Thanks everyone for all the reply. Guess I will wait for the announcement in Sept/Oct.
I am not sure how good the retina display is going to be and how it will hurt the battery run time. Also 12" dimension of the MBA might be a little bigger than the 11" which I prefer. The smaller the better. Maybe after the rumored refresh of 11", I will get that. |

With my first Apple device being the iPad Air, it takes some time to get past the resolution of the 2014 MBA. But I do now see the appeal of OS X, it seems really simple to use out of the box as long as you have the right expectation. I was initially frustrated because I wanted to get a little more detail out of my stuff like in Windows, but that isn't the right mindset for OS X.
Love the fact that I can actually put this thing on my lap and do my work, it gives you a lot more freedom to use it wherever you need to. Thirteen inches is just the right size for me seeing I already have an iPad. Can't imagine doing my stuff on a tiny 11" screen, though I can understand it suits those who only need it for word processing. |

QUOTE Apple’s upcoming redesigned 12-inch MacBook with a Retina display is expected to ship later than expected and new 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models have gone into production, according to a pair of reports from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News. The first report says that updates to both current MacBook Air sizes have entered production with Apple partner Quanta Computer, and that the new computers will boost Quanta’s 2014 notebook shipment numbers by 15%. The new devices are said to sport new chassis, screens, and chipsets, and volume shipments are due in late-August barring any unforeseen component delays. Check above. |

Lol if that's true it's just amazing that Apple does this to its consumers. Two revisions within 3 months of each other? Having just bought the 2014 model, hopefully there won't be a huge difference in the performance otherwise I might be looking at a swift upgrade.

Which is the best option to preserve battery life? thanks. always on when use... once in a while use it without plugged in. ideal situation is, have it always plug in at home or in the office and then bring it out to school or places like cafe with wifi once in a while without plugging in.whatever you do... don't full charge then full drain all the time. just use it naturally (plug it in whenever you can). |

Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her notebook on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month. Need a reminder? Add an event to Calendar on your desktop. When your battery no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs, you may choose to replace it. If your notebook came with a built-in battery, you should have the battery replaced only by an Apple Authorized Service Provider. |

Just wondering, I have yet to decide on the 128/256 gb. Any tips on that (Apart from the $ factor)? I always bring along a portable hdd but then, some friends told me to get the 256 but some told me not to waste as they got the 128 for the work/travel purposes. Here the list http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macb...acbook-air.html |

I bought 128GB 13inch mba, 128GB is more than enuff for me. I use it for education purpose and I have installed Parallel Desktop with Windows 8.0, and for the Windows side I have installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.For mac side, I have installed Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Intellij Idea, MS Office for mac 2011, xCode and etc. My SSD free space for now still left around 55GB, So I personally think that 128GB is more than enuff. But if you have budget to go for 256GB, then go for it. Maybe in the future you might need more space, who knows? |

Hello guys, 1 of my relative pass me a macbook air year 2008.
later i found out that the battery is death cuz it only can turn on with wall charger plugged in and it state "no charging" on top of the bar. So how much it will cost to replace the battery ? And also i tried to restore the macbook air to factory settings (reformat it) but i cant see the "recovery hd" when i hold option key during restart, only "machintosh" appear. Its kinda old and i planning to restore it and learn to use mac os. How to solve this guys ? Thanks vry much. This post has been edited by wemglucas3: Aug 6 2014, 03:41 PM |

If your programs need a lot of "raw" power, I'd suggest that you take MBP like what I did previously. Boot camp is always available. |
