The Taihao Olevetti keycaps to show off the blink blink, though I don't think it's that nice...  sweat.gif Some may otherwise.
Anyway also some inspiration for someone needs a cheap yet comfortable wrist rest for their MKB, soft styrofoam and small zip bag but of course it won't stay in place like those great looking Cherry Wood. sweat.gif

Nice set, without backlight looks nicer imo nod.gif .
Else the shine effect isn't look that well for keycaps that doesn't allow light to pass thru.

dadudeneverabides I found CAD design compilation on geekhack, it includes design for plate that support swappable switch cover. Dont know how I missed the compilation when searching for it last time, or else would have easier time with my CAD.

I've uploaded the CAD into my gdrive, plate_components.dwg, and also stole it for my own starter kit use whistling.gif whistling.gif

Ergonomic? Definitely.
Comfort? Massively compared to my TKL.
Faster? Arguable, since I'm still learning how to use it fully. I'm still adjusting to the columnar layout instead of the stepped layout, and might be making another layout change tonight to make it similar to a ANSI shape.
Worth buying? Definitely.
Would I recommend it? Only if you're into customs.

Hmm. Thanks for your input. Might order one from Massdrop in a couple of months if I have the budget to burn. Hahaha.

Btw, just did a double o-ring mod on my blue switches.

It's not really apparent in the video but the bottoming-out sound is almost gone when typing. All that's left is the clicky Cherry MX Blue sound. thumbup.gif

Is this a metal or acrylic case, kinda digging the naked switch look. Why not just mod the hell of it, rather than add in LED now, changing cases another day.

[url=http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013.1.0.0.Weymp8&scm=1007.10011.531.0&id=36427341355&pvid=a32875ad-7dd0-491c-ac05-45b90c0ba678[/url]

And is this a good soldering iron for a beginner?

P.S: Sorry for the many questions, its just that I'm excited to actually starting to mod and stuff. biggrin.gif

Just go to any hardware shop and get cheap soldering iron around RM15. If you're in for a long run, get solder stand and solder flux for cleaning.

Thats why lah, my budget is around rm50-100, not that much, and I want to learn to extend my skill set. So better go with something with quality, but not breaking the bank.

laugh.gif laugh.gif im cheapskate like that. Anyhow if spending on a quality soldering iron, you need to take care of it properly, I had 2 iron tip broke before due to rust and flux residue. Cleaning kit is important too.

True that. Cheapskate also, just trying to get the most of my very little funds. Thanks for the advice also, not my first time soldering, just finally trying to actually get a kit of my own.

I followed these instructions from geekhack. As you can probably see, it's a huge step simpler than hasu's work:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=59068....3525#msg1353525

In the end, I have an excel worksheet to help me visualize the key locations and how I wanna deal with WYSIWYG issues.

Pretty neat stuff.
