Btw... Anyone here familiar with PEB (Professional Engineer Board) in SG? Any idea whether they accept M'sian Degree or not. From their website, I read that any degree under their own region/country accredited by their own board is recognised. For M'sia, it's BEM. I'm sure my degree is recognised by BEM but is it recognised by PEB? hmm.gif
*
From what I heard from friends from Malaysia, only UM can direct go for PEB exams. For others like UTM etc, they have to take a post grad in NUS or NTU. 4 years, 2 exams, 1 interview. Malaysia one now how? I read BEM website got exam then stop reading already rclxub.gif . The washington accord not sure how its work. That is few years ago, now I not sure.

Oh... Nvm... Time not there yet.

But from what I read...

http://app.peb.gov.sg/Html/pe_approved.html
Maybe it takes a lawyer to understand these. Can't they put it in layman's term?  doh.gif
Hmm...
Qualifications specified in Schedule - if refer to Part IV Division I,
and
then supposed we should be able to register as PE with our degree awarded after 1st January 2009.
I think that's why your friends need to take post grad. Since you all probably graduated much earlier than that date biggrin.gif
My interpretation of their content should be correct right? biggrin.gif
*
Ooo should be correct. Ya I think he graduated before 2009 so need to take some post grad. Better start taking the 1st exam since still fresh out of school, after a while forgot all the things.

People would look at you like how you look at fitters and grinders. Fitters and grinders may think they are professional too in their own aspect.

Even my hubby who has this professional engineer license I still think he is a laborer same class with the mangala workers. My company provide funds for projects, during meetings with those professionals, developer, architect, engineer, contractor, bla bla bla, they look all same to me, people who get the job done, same like the carpenter who do my closet, no people at my side really care what certification they have and how hard to get it.
*
He got his chartered already? New company got opening or not?

QUOTE(razo2 @ Sep 16 2014, 04:13 PM)
Typical in every engineering work. No matter what color, position and skills still have to bend over to let the client bang us.

Then bring you out at site to cook and work a little more then bring back to office to bang again.

<repeat from monday to sunday>

See whose back mountain stronger one. If your background mt. everest client also stand aside.

Guys. How is the traffic condition from Singapore to JB in the morning? And JB to Singapore in the afternoon?

My wife will be coming to stay with me in Singapore and she would like to travel to JB for work from 8am to 5pm. Wondering the traffic condition at these times.

Ya the safety course. Taught by who? I forgot the name d. Indian trainer. Tips give kaw kaw but not by the Indian trainer, by another chinese trainer that take over the last lesson, then group evaluation, just part with some pro. I just copy during the evaluation. Although I did study for it and will also pass on my own la but since there's free meal, take it lo tongue.gif

Er... 4 days course from 8 to 6 (but normally around 8.30~9 only start, 4.30~5+ leave d) so yeah 30++ hours.

100 plus? Which centre offer that price? The one I attended is 260SGD after don't know how many % discount. Company pay I don't care tongue.gif
Name, FIN/IC number come I go report MOM!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

tongue.gif maybe I should lead MOM to read this thread here.

Well what to expect for a guy being paid SGD 1-2 dollar an hour. lol. well at least i could make use of the 250 and split by 10. At least i know the welder have plenty to spare. lol.

I honestly know these guys are way underpaid, so i expected monkey results on my stuff. Those shipyard guys knew i was laughing like hell at those not knowing the difference between 250 mm and 25mm.

Apparently Korean welders are one the bloody best in the world, even Australia knows it. We use to send our pipes there for really expensive welding control valves, just cant afford to f*** it up when we can buy a Ferrari with one valve.

There are always a spread of among a population, normal distribution for most case. Those you met are just a small group, cannot generalise the whole industry. You, for example, are also not the best in your own field I suppose, wonder what the top 5% will comment on your capability hmm.gif

LTA should really ban cyclists going on the road. Scratched my car at Raffles then run away without stopping, point finger some more. Dumb enough to do that wearing his sport tshirt with name and company behind his back. Went to TP, file a report with car camera and whack the guy up and down with option to civil suit or settle until satisfied. Power of free legal service from office.

places like joo chiat road, lavender , thomson and ballistier road, can this place is in the range  2K -3K ? i think 3K is above my budget.
First to get a job then will hunt for a place nearby like you suggested. Life gonna be tough ahead. thanks
*
I stay Lavender, my single room from old contract is 600 but new asking price is 900. Its opposite my office, well worth the money. 2 bedroom below 3k from ads around the bus stop, still available in Lavender, if 3 room a bit hard.

I renting a single room in a 3 bedroom HDB unit. There are new condos around. Don't know the price. If 1 bedroom studio I think less than 3k can get.

Some suggestions. I came here as a student so I did all these to survive on my 3600 per year scholarship allowance. That is 450 per month minus away the 4 months holiday in Malaysia.

Home cook food maybe true but you forget to mention staying alone in a bungalow and drive 7 series to class. Always troll people like you very poor like that.
