Let's not get carried away. S$130k household income is NOT all sunshine and flowers. 3 bedoom condo (~1000 sqft) you need 20% d/p + 18% stamp duty = S$608k cash up front. That Lexus, let's say S$250k, is S$125k downpayment. Even with zero expenditure you'd need 5 and a half years to pony up that kind of cash.

S$130k is the "sandwich class" in Singapore. Paid too much for BTO and EC, but not paid enough to comfortably own private properties and private transport nowadays.
