Anyone heard about EKVE? The expressway connecting Sg Long to Gombak. If this comes true, it will add connectivity to Kajang.

MKH launches eight projects worth RM1.6b this year.....out of the 8 projects 4 are in Kajang, one in Semenyih...looks like they hv great confidence in this region...also claimed that their sales has been strong with 60% to 100% of units sold within weeks of launch...

The Eastern Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) is a new expressway under planning in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The 39.5-kilometre-long (24.5 mi) expressway will connect Sungai Pusu in Gombak and Bandar Sungai Long in Kajang. This expressway is part of the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR). The construction of the expressway will start in 2015.

The expressway will connect Sungai Pusu in Gombak and Bandar Sungai Long in Kajang, has interchanges also at Ukay Perdana in Ulu Klang and Lembah Jaya in Ampang.

Length extended to 39.5 km to avoid sensitive areas due to public protests.

New alignment avoids the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge at Melawati
Including a 200 m tunnel.

Costs RM 2.2 billion and has six toll plazas
Currently at land acquisition stage.

............. cited from wikipedia.

Currently, the completed sections of KLORR include part of the Kuala Lumpur – Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR Expressway, E25) beginning from Templer’s Park Interchange along Federal Route 1 (KL-Rawang) to the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE, E35) linking to Elite Expressway (E6) from Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam to Saujana Putra, and the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE, E26) from Saujana Putra to Kajang.

EKVE shall be built and will have interchange at Bandar Mahkota Cheras and connected to Silk.. Currently to Ukay Perdana, perhaps will be extended to UIA in future.

Next time, SEHrians can use this road to Ampang and bypass Cheras Center.

If really extended to UIA, can shorten the travel time to Genting too...

kajang is a low end area but now they want to build high ends properties. the infrastructure may not be able to accomodate - not just the trafic jam roads but also the main water piping needs complete overhaul since frequent water disruption already happening in certain areas before the water rationing implementation.

The problem is not with the pipes, but pumping station. They need to be upgraded or add some more coz the current pumps are already working over its optimal capacity.

Kajang low end??? You are referring to Jade Hills or Country Height? Then Tikaram will getting angry oo. Spent million ringgit for the house still consider low end.

Kajang is big, when talk about jam, water problem or flood, it is very subjective on which area you refer to. So far touch wood, I am staying in Kajang for 14 years (Bkt Mewah Phase 9) and never have any issue on those 3 problem.Even now with water rationing, not affected also. Every day have water. For example if Tropicana Height get flood, i think whole Malaysia will be flooded.
