seems like RHB has improved their 15 months promo;

http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U7pHrZSSzyQ

((3.48/1.05) + 3.68 + 3.88 + 4.08 + 5.38))/5 = 4.067%

First FD promo to breach 4% mark but 5% have to maintain in CASA for 90 days biggrin.gif
*
Thanks for calculating the effective rate ! nod.gif notworthy.gif

Wow, RHB FD is even better than BR's 15 month's 3.95%. Some more with PIDM. rclxms.gif BR cannot cliaim to have the highest FD rate. shakehead.gif

Why not some of you visit BR & tell them about tis RHB offer. Confirm they would do "something" about it  biggrin.gif
*
Ha ha, 1 or 2 months ago they still advertise having the highest FD rate in Star. Did not see the ad recently.

My BR regulars have left and replaced with new BM and ABM. Have not even met them yet. Wait till my FD mature and go to the branch. Ha ha. tongue.gif

from this article = http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/busines...debt-risk-grows , looks like there'll be 2 increases = "Most economists expect a 0.25% hike when the central bank meets on Thursday, followed by another as early as September."

RHB effective rate of 4.07% rather enticing. May be my next "new" bank account over there. But still wait for July 10 and my FD to mature. rclxms.gif

Saw from newspaper that if BNM did not increase OPR in July, may cause stock market some problem and also exchange rate problem. So, tough call for BNM.

Bank Negara Malaysia may not decide to hike interest rates on Thursday as there may not be a 'compelling enough' reason to do so, said Kenanga's economist Wan Suhaimie on Wednesday.
"There is not much froth in the market yet and an increase may be premature at this time. An increase of about 25 basis points the market is expecting may not be very impactful as well," he said.

Expectations of a rate hike have been building up since May after Bank Negara said in a statement that financial imbalances remained a concern.

Of the 19 economists polled by Bloomberg, 14 expect the central bank to raise the OPR by 25 bps to 3.25% on Thursday.

Well, sit & wait. Either way is OK with me, of course would be happy with the increase.

After the increase would have to wait and see banks response. FD still have not matured yet. smile.gif

Read from the other thread that MBSB, CIMB n RHB may merged. I wonder whether the RHB promo (and CC benefits) will be affected too.

I just check the maybank2u on the funds transfer, again the limit for transactoin per day over internet banking is stil RM 10k.

how to execute RENTAS ?
*
RENTAS at bank counter. But CIMB offers a RM2 charge for immediate transfer, if you have CIMB online account. smile.gif But never use it before, normal IBG 10 cents.

I read an article somewhere and the FD rate increase will take time. The loans however, will take effect immediately. Anyone can confirm?

From my experience loan interest will increase very soon. While FD rate will takes time to go up. Other people's experience ?? hmm.gif
