Ya, I kind of still not trusting sending thru' the cloud >100k of my money. Would have preferred a banker's cheque. Kia Su guy vs our Top Flo/Lady.

QUOTE(bearbear @ Jul 7 2014, 03:09 PM) seems like RHB has improved their 15 months promo; Thanks for calculating the effective rate ! http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U7pHrZSSzyQ ((3.48/1.05) + 3.68 + 3.88 + 4.08 + 5.38))/5 = 4.067% First FD promo to breach 4% mark but 5% have to maintain in CASA for 90 days Wow, RHB FD is even better than BR's 15 month's 3.95%. Some more with PIDM. |

Confirm they would do "something" about it Ha ha, 1 or 2 months ago they still advertise having the highest FD rate in Star. Did not see the ad recently. My BR regulars have left and replaced with new BM and ABM. Have not even met them yet. Wait till my FD mature and go to the branch. Ha ha. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Jul 8 2014, 03:56 PM) RHB effective rate of 4.07% rather enticing. May be my next "new" bank account over there. But still wait for July 10 and my FD to mature. QUOTE(byshierly @ Jul 8 2014, 04:05 PM) Issit ? My friend just back from the bank. Saw from newspaper that if BNM did not increase OPR in July, may cause stock market some problem and also exchange rate problem. So, tough call for BNM.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Jul 9 2014, 04:51 PM) Bank Negara Malaysia may not decide to hike interest rates on Thursday as there may not be a 'compelling enough' reason to do so, said Kenanga's economist Wan Suhaimie on Wednesday. Yes, guessing game by all concerned. One more day to go ..................... "There is not much froth in the market yet and an increase may be premature at this time. An increase of about 25 basis points the market is expecting may not be very impactful as well," he said. Expectations of a rate hike have been building up since May after Bank Negara said in a statement that financial imbalances remained a concern. Of the 19 economists polled by Bloomberg, 14 expect the central bank to raise the OPR by 25 bps to 3.25% on Thursday. |

QUOTE(sonicbull @ Jul 10 2014, 08:34 PM) I read an article somewhere and the FD rate increase will take time. The loans however, will take effect immediately. Anyone can confirm? From my experience loan interest will increase very soon. While FD rate will takes time to go up. Other people's experience ??
