I dunno la, so far no regrets after upgrading from my old trusty mx518. I've been holding back for quite some time as I was too comfortable with my mx518. The only gripe i've had with this mouse is the infinite scrolling. I prefer not to have it as an option as it is not as good.
Otherwise tracking is excellent! and the feel in my hand is familiar. ![]() |

Yes the tracking is awesome. Gives me a lot of control. Overall feel is awesome. Went from Kone[+] to G502. So far so good! But the design is kind of awkward, although if the feels is similar to MX518 I might... consider it in my list next to SS Rival... Introduction: I will be comparing this mouse mostly to Roccat Kone[+] as it is the only gaming mouse I have ever used. Prior to getting this I have considered Corsair M65 and M95 but settled on the G502 due to price, design (button layout, size) and finishing used. Price ★★★★★ RM189 : I rate it 5 star because I got it for RM189 and I came from Roccat Kone[+] which costed me over RM300. Ergonomics and button layout ★★★★★ : Again I rate it 5 star because the mouse just suits the size of my hand very well. I would describe my hand to be slightly smaller than average guys but larger than girls with large hands. The Kone[+] was larger on the palm rest area so it actually made long duration of usage uncomfortable. The mouse has a total of n buttons, namely 1 DPI shift, 2 thumb buttons, 2 DPI up/down, left/right click, middle scroll click, left/right scroll click and a middle G9 click (below scroll). The DPI shift and thumb buttons are well located, when pressing them they just give you a satisfying tactile feel that you have pressed them (although I do not know how long to this feel may last). The middle scroll is indeed something new, 2 interchangeable modes. One where the scroll is clicking while another is smooth scrolling. I like smooth scrolling but sadly not all applications we use support smooth scrolling so for now I'm sticking with the clicky scroll. Build quality / Finishing ★★★★☆ : For a mouse which costs me RM189, I would rate it 4 stars out of 5. The cable is braided but not like Corsair or Razer keyboard braided quality. The cable itself is quite jumbled up so it may take a little time to straighten it up out of box. The thumb rest area and pinkie rest area are rather thick rubberised, not a coating (I think). So there is no need to worry about the rubber coating coming off. The main body and left/right click however are of cheaper quality of matte finishing. I would've preferred a more luxurious finishing but RM189 is what RM189 is. The middle scroll is metallic and cold to the touch, scroll it has a rather 'heavy' feel like scrolling the volume rocker on Corsair K70 keyboard. The DPI shift button, DPI up/down button, both thumb buttons and the middle G9 button are all glossy finished. It is a good mix. One of the criteria I look for when getting a peripheral is that I prefer it easy to clean Tracking / Mouse Feet / Sensor ★★★★☆ : I'm using this mouse mainly at 4500DPI, shifting to 3000DPI when required. Tracking is awesome as I feel it gives me much more control than my Kone[+] most probably due to new mouse feet. I've used both mouse on a newly purchased Razor Sphex. As most users know, max DPI do not translate to best accuracy tracking so for the short week of having been using it, I believe the G502 is giving me excellent tracking at 4500DPI on shooting games and others. Games I play includes CS:GO, Diablo 3, Hitman Absolution, Ghost Recon Phantoms. I'm a lazy person so I do not use the weights at all to increase the weight of the mouse. I'm pretty sure it is a perk for some users. Surface tuning is a pretty neat feature but I have yet to test it out thoroughly as I only have Razor Sphex with me. However on the Roccat Kone[+] it has worked effectively on different surfaces. Software ★★★☆☆ : 3 stars because in terms of UI design I find the Roccat software easier to use when using it the first time. However functions do not lack. In terms of software functionality and customisability it is almost equal of that Kone[+]. Kone[+] has the ability to adjust lift-up distance and double click speed (although Windows does that too). Both software provides the ability to switch profile automatically according to the game or application you are running. In terms of bling, Kone[+] wins hand down with all the colour led customisability. The Logitech, G, however is pretty annoying but the software has the ability to switch it off. I guess that concludes my review. If there is anything you would like me to test or try do not hesitate to ask This post has been edited by Silverfire: May 12 2014, 02:25 PM |

Hey all,
I've been reading all these pages in trying to decide and still stuck. Currently I have been using one of the G400 and I love the mouse. I am a claw grip user and thought the heavy weight was fantastic for me to use. And though it only has 7 buttons or so I use them all mapped while I am playing my main games of choice LoL and more importantly WoW. So I have been looking at the following mice; Razers Deathadder or Naga 2014 Or Logitech's lineup of G502 or the G600 So two normalised mice and two MMO designed mice. The only problem I can think of reading all the reviews about MMO is the fact that I am a claw grip user with holding onto the mouse using the lil thumb pad that I have grown so used to on my G400 (which I have used for about 2 years now) and only have to replace it due to the cord fraying which seems to be the most common problem with this mouse. So any advice or input from you guys I'd appreciate I know a few of you got the G502 recently but still figured I would post. Thanks. |
