very nice.
i think first thread should change abit, like ntw said, put some comparisons in terms of mouse size, sensor and current pricing. like that its easier for people to refer.
*
It is very hard to find and compare each and every mice out there, despite the hard work over time, there will be countless new mice every few months, time taken to research those mice is not easy.

Anyway, I did suggest to put up this link on last thread, a very good guide, for hardcore that searching for accuracy mice.
CODE

Very good read up!!

Can anyone do such research based on that link? If they do, well, I think that will benefit this thread, but I don't think I can.

The newer DA13 doesn't have that sticky issue on the surface but the side rubber will turn sticky/slippery abit if you sweat.
Would love to see mionix mice here.
*
Heavyarm does carry Mionix mouse, but only the latest model and not the Naos 7000 which IMO is a better option than the Naos 8200.
Shipping from Amazon will cost higher than buying the Naos 8200 so it's not worth it... cry.gif

looks like razer da got many good reviews so i think maybe i will buy it, thanks
*
Tested the DA before and my opinion is the main buttons feels flimsy, not sure if that's the mice problem or Razer quality, the main button feels rattling and not solid feels like the G400/G400s.
I have yet to test the Rival, don't have any demo unit in my local shops, feels quite disappointed, and only handful of dealer can order and yet I can't demo. sweat.gif Going to wait until PIKOM (June) and see if I can actually get my hands on a demo unit.

I dunno la, so far no regrets after upgrading from my old trusty mx518. I've been holding back for quite some time as I was too comfortable with my mx518. The only gripe i've had with this mouse is the infinite scrolling. I prefer not to have it as an option as it is not as good.

Otherwise tracking is excellent! and the feel in my hand is familiar.

Saw some serious online review gives it a great point as well for the sensor, seems like a breakthrough of optical sensor so far.
But the design is kind of awkward, although if the feels is similar to MX518 I might... consider it in my list next to SS Rival... brows.gif
Logitech trying to drag me back from jump ship to SS... sweat.gif

Logitech G502 Proteus Core Review

user posted image

Introduction:
I will be comparing this mouse mostly to Roccat Kone[+] as it is the only gaming mouse I have ever used. Prior to getting this I have considered Corsair M65 and M95 but settled on the G502 due to price, design (button layout, size) and finishing used.

Price ★★★★★ RM189 :
I rate it 5 star because I got it for RM189 and I came from Roccat Kone[+] which costed me over RM300.

guys im an old user of mx518, recently changed to zowie fk, but the mouse is kinda hard to grip for me, very slippery. (maybe my hand is too big, not sure)

do u guys have any recommendation for a mouse with good rubber grip?

i actually thought of getting g400s.

but i wana hear more from u guys first.
*
Go and try out the latest G402s, seems to be on sale right now but probably only few shops due to the just release announcement, RRP is RM149, same as G400s. For me I would rather go for the latest one since the sensor is already proven by G502, but of course needs more white mouse or reviews to make the purchase much solid. wink.gif

Just got a Mionix Naos 7000 for review. 1 day of usage in, so far I'm willing to say this is one of the best palm-grip mouse on the market today. That 3310 sensor is just stunning, accelaration is almost non-existnat and it is very consistent.
*
Looking at that mouse as well but local retail shop does not carry such "niche" product and they only sells the latest and probably greatest?
Can you compare this with G402 or possibly G502 for the sensor? hmm.gif

Comfort wise I think Naos wins hands down, without even needs to test it myself, I can feels the size and the design is prioritizing comfort. brows.gif

*
Laser mice, if you're fan of laser then go ahead, but I would rather takes accuracy if you're FPS gamer, G502 seems to be on the same price range?
Take a look at the website and can't find the G500s anymore. hmm.gif
Take a look at the lelong (that you posted), quite a good deal but I won't count on the warranty anymore since Logitech already phased out this model, so it's entirely up to you.

i already got my own G502. at first, i find it's a little bit awkward to use especially i always accidentally press the DPI shift(sniping button) during game. DPI level changer was really useful, and i really love the free scrolling mode alot and it's fit my hand perfectly! i think this is 2nd best mouse i used so far after SS Sensei Pro. 9/10 for this mouse! biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

it's been a long long time since the last time i used my Sensei. so, i din't notice the weight difference between G502 and Sensei. but i do notice alot of weight changes since the last time i used Demeter  sweat.gif
*
Just ordered my G502, hopefully arrive tomorrow, retiring my old trusty MX518 v1, since 2005 (if I'm not mistaken, asked my friend to buy it from Lowyat since not available locally)
I really like heavier mouse, feels solid when moving it around, I even add some steel nuts into my MX518 to makes it heavier (with some tape wrapping so it won't touches the electric circuit). sweat.gif

Just got my G502 and regretted.. LMAO.. nah just kidding.

First impression, yes, it's quite a heavy mouse, much heavier than my MX518 with added weight, but darn I like it, I just plugged it right now and use the 2nd step on the DPI switch, speed is good and precise, just as advertised.

I have yet to test on my gaming rig's mat, now only using cheapo RM5 mouse mat at office, which is already feels quite good, due to the small surface, I can't move really much.

Default scroll wheel is free-spin, smooth spin, and no friction at all, so a little tap and it'll spin for few seconds before it stop, if I go full swing, it'll spin more than 15 seconds, not going to use that much. sweat.gif But once you turn to stepped scroll mode, instantly you'll feel the weight, of which require much more force than normal scroll wheel on my both MX518, M305 and the cheap-o M100r, by far the most resistant scroll wheel that I ever used but the stepping noise is not very obvious in office environment, will test it at my desk at night to see if the noise is louder than normal scroll wheel.
So, I did talk a bit much on the scroll wheel sweat.gif , the scroll wheel is well, my first feel on a heavy scroll wheel, a nice touch to normal rubberized scroll wheel.

Next is the extra buttons, as a mostly claw grip (while gaming) user, I'm very comfortable with the position of the "sniper" button, also the DPI switch buttons as well, though I have to test it on my fast pace FPS title yet. Palm grip for web surfing is a breeze, forward and back button is easy to reach, and only needs little bit of force to actuate it. Most buttons followed the same old for its flagship, I guess I have already got used to the position.

Overall mouse feel is great, the rubber side grip is a nice touch, not too annoying. Added all the weight makes the mouse feels a bit dodgy but it's probably I'm not used to the weight yet, will switch back to its original weight, feels much natural... sweat.gif

Will update again (probably not tonight) for in-depth impression (not review sorry). sweat.gif

More impression update:
Now at home, connected to my KVM mice console port, 1 word... "failed", aww that's sucks, but luckily I have 2 extra USB 1.1 hub ports that can works with my mice, so for those who're using KVM, keep this in mind that it may not work on your KVM console port, so you have to get KVM which has USB hub and it works wonderfully after connect to the USB hub. wink.gif

When I do a bit swing test, notice the mice's front part is much heavier than the back, thought this may be the mechanical parts that make out the scroll wheel, also the scroll wheel's weight (aluminium?) itself. I added 2 extra 3.6g little weight at the back of the mice and now swinging the mice feels slightly better and balanced.

At a darker room now I feel the eye piercing blue G, which is not quite needed IMO, it may annoy someone whom use it at night when hands is not on the mice, fancy looking but not a good feature, should have a switch to turn it off physically. shakehead.gif

Now with my bigger mice mat, testing the full swing of the mice across the mat is very pleasant, not only the wire does not interfere much, the feet also feels solid, I can actually feels the mat's surface through the mice itself. With such weight (mice) and soft wire, making the mice steady when there's no movement, unlike my old MX518 may sometimes got pulled by the wire, stiff wire to be blame.

I think that's all for today's impression, will give more impression when I dive into few games.

any basic gaming mouse(left and right click and maybe dpi button) with good build quality? medium to large size...dunwan small size mouse...

G502, I would consider this medium size, best if you can try this out at the store yourself though.
Large would be the MMO size mouse, probably not suitable for FPS as the side buttons is way too "much"? sweat.gif
Otherwise Mionix Naos 7000, which I think the comfort tops all current mouse. thumbup.gif

where to find demo model for mionix naos......i heard is quite a premium brand~
*
Price wise only slightly higher than G502 and I think currently no one in Malaysia import that model (Naos 7000) but his newer brother 8200 which I can't comment on its sensor. Naos 7000 has been regards for its sensor accuracy and quality. wink.gif
I believe one of the forumer here reviewed a unit of Naos 7000 before, wonder where he got himself that unit, I can only found on Amazon and hella expensive to ship to Malaysia.

Could I just drip some lubricant inside without disassemble?
*
Actually the wire itself already has grease if you look at the picture carefully, while I'm not too sure if your mouse is still uses the same technique to provide feedback and "click" noise for the scroll wheel though.
I do took out many new mice that I bought (just like your case) to loosen the scroll wheel and at the same time lower the feedback feel.
But I've yet to disassemble my G502, one hell of a (expensive) mice that I won't want to void the warranty for experimenting... sweat.gif

Note: just notice you're applying lubricant, it may just clean away the grease than adding which in your case may increase even more feedback than lower it, the position to drip the lubricant can also be too small to aim, will also dirty the innards (oily) so not really recommended unless you know what you're doing. wink.gif

any can explain me the different of G402 and G502?
i mostly play dota n some shooting game only

I only have G502, the best optical sensor so far, very accurate.
I have see G402 review, the accelerator seems to be working pretty well despite the inferior optical sensor, the accelerator keep it up quite smoothly, so I think both are great mouse.

The only complaints for my G502 is the mouse feet at the middle which tend to peel off after some light use, I don't use it heavily like some FPS hardcore, mostly light games and little less intensive FPS, it's being reported many times on many forums.
I'm not too sure about G402 but you may google a bit with keywords such as "G402 problem", "G402 issue", etc.
