Who loves our southern neighbour?

Singapore: What Will It Take To Reach 3,900?

CONCLUSION

At this juncture, we think valuations for some of the more troubled sectors already factor in a considerable level of investor pessimism (as we have discussed above), while valuations for the Singapore market on the whole are still modest, with the market’s 2014 forecasted PE at 14.6X (as of 18 August 2014), below our 16X fair value estimate. Despite lacklustre expectations for certain sectors, earnings are still forecasted to grow by a further 8.7% and 10.1% in 2015 and 2016 respectively after stalling somewhat in 2013 (see Chart 7), which will bring valuations lower to 13.5X and 12.2X based on the two respective years. As shown in Table 3, applying a 16X fair PE estimate to next year’s earnings could see the FTSE STI attain new all-time highs by end-2015. This also suggests upside potential in excess of 30% by end-2016 for Singapore equities, while the inclusion of dividends should see the Singapore equity market deliver a 15.9% annualised return over this period, warranting us maintaining a 3.5 star “attractive” rating on the market.

European Stocks Climb After Draghi Signals More Stimulus

And for Europe lovers:

What's Next For Europe & Its Assets?

CONCLUSION

With equity valuations remaining close to our estimated fair value coupled with negative revisions to earnings estimates amidst a thus far sluggish recovery in the Eurozone, we maintain our 2.5 Star – Neutral rating on the region. While investors might find more attractive investment opportunities in higher rated regions such as Asia ex Japan and the Emerging Markets (both sport 5.0 Star – Very Attractive ratings), retaining some equity exposure to the European equity market is necessary for portfolio diversification purposes.

As for investors seeking European fixed income exposure, given that yields and spreads for European fixed income assets are hard to be seen as attractively valued, particularly for European high yield bonds when compared to their US high yield peers which we have already turned cautious on, we would suggest investors avoid European high yield and fixed income exposure. As mentioned in Value In Asian High Yield And Emerging Markets Debt, we currently favour the Asian High Yield and Emerging Market debt sectors amongst the riskier segments of fixed income, whilst maintaining a preference for short duration bond funds within the safer segments of fixed income.

I don't feel good with "our BIGGEST online sale ever". As I remember, this look similar with the implementation of "0% sc for bond fund + platform fee". So this round may be "0% sc for equity fund + platform fee".

U.S. Stocks Rally as S&P 500 Touches 2,000 for First Time

The S&P 500 rose 0.6 percent to 1,999.69 at 10:13 a.m. in New York. It climbed as high as 2,000.24, an all-time high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 97.74 points, or 0.6 percent, to 17,098.96.

“There are a lot of positive fundamentals which support further momentum in the housing market,” Peter Garnry, head of equity strategy at Saxo Bank A/S in Hellerup, Denmark, said in a phone interview. “Good housing data would support the view that the U.S. economy is growing quite well.”
