Leaving them one week should be ok because i've left my betta unattended for 2 long weeks before without any casulties. It's better if you bring them along but if u you hesitate to do so then you can feed them heavily 3-4 meals per day a week ahead. Stop feeding them 1-2 days before you leave so that they can clear of the waste from their body and change 100% water before you leave.

I've always did that when i have to leave home for quite a number of days but so far my record is 2 weeks lah.

Oh ya, for those who know me but didn't know i had shifted house, I'm now working in Teluk Intan, and my company has provided me a bungalow there, so i'm pretty much setting up my new home here now...

AS it is a plantation company, it tends to get kinda lonely here... Hence the great move of my beloved bettas.... biggrin.gif Heheh.... From Sepang to Teluk Intan...

Haha.... I not sure how too... I also surprised that the survival rate was 100%... Thought the 1 month old fellas would surely have some casualties... But none perished in the transporting part.. Lost 2 during the reacclimatizing part though...

All i did was just fill a pail with quarter volume of clean treated water, leave it alone for a day, transferred the fishes the morning i was to leave, and put them in the front seat base there. Then i start car go lo....  biggrin.gif I even moved my tanks with me....  rclxms.gif

Oh yes they would.... But it was either that or placing them in individual cookie jars, also with just quarter volume water, in an empty basin... But, 300 fish, cannot lar...

Oh ya, forgot to add, about 250 like that were from the community and fry tank, so they are ok if together.. Of course community tank one pail, and the fry tank ones another pail la... biggrin.gif So only the 50 odd jarred ones were more of a worry.... tongue.gif

Lol, bettas don't need special air bubbles. They have an organ called a labyrinth organ that is used for extracting oxygen from normal air.

OK, special thanks to jaswwp and yuekuan (and your friend, mr.anonymous) for stopping by today.
It was nice meeting with forum members after such a long time. smile.gif
Hope the fishies you got are healthier than the ones from the petshops. smile.gif
If they still fall sick after 2 weeks then I think its time for a short class on betta 101. biggrin.gif
