Huhhhh..this is my current update...starting happy but ending with sadness...

Friday (6/6/14)

The replacement GPU arrived..Thanks to diaBoliQu3





So the final assembly... I change all the thermal paste from the GPU..(sorry no picture)

The installation is done and the loop refilled...



The leak test...huhu using molex adapter..no jump start through ATX pin..easier..



I left the system to run 24 hours..nothing leak..

Saturday (7/6/14)..the moment of truth..

Unhook the molex adapter and starting the windows..

Yeah the system start and the GPU is detected..so the PCI-e is working fine..

the temp of the CPU and GPU is also slidely reduced from (45C idle) to (36C idle)...sorry no picture ..

I left the system to run and download some stuff while I go out with my family..

Then when I return..I found the PC is dead... my room full of smoke..damn...

The PSU burn..for what ever reason I don't know..





Notice that there are a fluid (oily) came out through the bottom cooling fan..

It spill onto the motherboard badly..Arrrghhh

So, the paste should be still sticky right? That's the power of Arctic MX4. BTW, I don't know if you know this but you can use brasso to polish the waterblock for mirror finish including the fittings etc.

But, how in the hell that PSU got smokin?! Luckily smokin, not firin'.

Yeah..it still sticky..I already clean the surface using arctic clean solution..hmm yes you're right brasso also can be used to polish it..

I'm seaching online..some said it came from the fluid bearing of the fan..some said leak capacitor..don't know what's wrong with it..although a bit lucky because the is no fire..but the PSU is totaled..

p/s : if you ever planned on dissambling the PSU to check what happen,please be extra careful.some capacitor still holds quite strong electricity charge.enough to shock you by the way

Yup..ada hikmah la kot..

Luckily the system is still up and running after I clean up the oil spill..currently using my other PSU (for my next build)..pinjam kejap..Please ignore the cables..



Already buy another Silverstone Strider Gold (SST-ST65F-G) but this time I wont do the wiring again..I bought Silverstone Short Cable Set (SST-PP05) for safety..

I suspected my wiring have shorting somewhere..noob wiring..

I need to practice more..

But when I dissemble the PSU..nothing seem leaked..all the capacitor still intact and look good..

Maybe it really came from the fan fluid bearing..

any chance of sending it for rma o bro? sorry to hear about ur sad story

I don't think I can send it for RMA..because I already dismantle the PSU..automatically that will void the warranty right?..Huhh..I purposely build this PC for my wife..but too many things happen..hopefully after I replace the PSU and use the prewired cable, everything will go fine and working..

Too much has been spent for this build..the budget should go to my build..

Bro,where you get PP05 short cable?

The custom reservoir couldn't contain the fluid..it leak bro..




I bought it on lelong.com..but yesterday the seller offer me to upgrade for PP05E..I bought the PP05 for RM75 and need to add RM25 for the PP05E..

First I also plan to get those reservoir..but always don't get the chance to grab one..huhu but now I'm perfectly fine with the Swiftech MCRES Micro Rev2 Reservoir..

Thanks bro..it really do contribute a lot for this build..hahaha..I'm currently waiting for the PSU and the cables..hope by this week I could complete it.. will focus more on my own PC..

Hi guys..

Little update and I think the finish project..haha

The replacement PSU received on 16/6/14..together with the PP05-E short cable for Strider Gold Class PSU..





So I install the new PSU and the system is running fine now.. Temp CPU 37C and GPU 36C..Maybe later I'll plan to use Potted Peltier





Notice that I try to change the coolant color to red using Mayhems Deep Red Dye but it is a failure..

May I'll change the side panel acrylic window because the current one is quite full of scratch..


My finding regarding the previous PSU failure is that... I think I have put too much load on a single molex connector..all the fan controller, pump and the CCFL using a single molex..Don't know..just my thought only..

no wonder.. But glad to see this pretty thing running! Btw bro got any extra 6pin to molex wanna sell? xD using the same psu i tak cukup pakai haha
