hmmm.. i'm planning 2 customade the extractor edi.. i heard that they can do wat u want.. and it is at a reasonable price too.. i supposed this would be better from buying something designed for 1.6.. smile.gif

btw, all bros.. do u service ur car every 10k o 5k? as i know, car should haf service @ every 5k but the service attendance in mutiara damansara that it should b service @ every 10k (excluding the 1st 2 service) and @ my 1st 5k service, he wanted me to add the additive.. so is it true o waT? he told me that stock engine oil onli can last u to 5k but after this additive it gives u another 5k.. this additive is almost like the price of engine oil if i'm not wrong.. i think it is called X1R o something something like that..  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

nope. dun add any addititives... ain't the need to do so.

Some full syn can last u abt 10k-12k km without the need of additive. If possible, dun use additive, it harms our engine with some of the substances in the formula.

cheers.

yup... its true, dont need to add those stuff.
unless u want to try them out la.. hehe

personally i have tried X1R (before flame me, i got it free), the engine is smoother and less noisy when u rev it high, more free revving too, but i dont think i will add anymore in it.

another thing if u want to add additives, always know what is in them, make sure they are not silicon based of molydynum based, they will clogg up ur oil filter. so do some research first.

like shackks said,
fully syn can last abt 10K without any problems,

but i have not tried because, my engine oil goes down a quarter or someties to half (from the dipstick markings) every 5000km. cheked using the compression test and there was no leakage in the combustion chamber so must be from the breather and pcv valve. anybody got this problem. i am using 0W40, and some mechs tell me to change to thicker engine oil such as 10W50 so that the oil will be more stable at high temperatures ( i am high revving driver smile.gif)

anyone got an idea on this???

mine is manual... but the boiling point of engine oil is not classified by the viscosity rite? thats why i am asking. i did ask the mechanic if the boiling point is higher... he scrach head... vmad.gif

yes... the higher the viscosity the better it is.. hmmm.. those turbo cars r using those high viscosity engine oil but seriously i don think ours need those even how hard u rev the engine cz ours ain't any turbos.. he! he! unless our engine got CPS (vvti+vtec)

yes... the viscosity actually translate the fluidity the lube in certain temperature.

read this site for more info. smile.gif

till now, my car has been serviced for every 5k km... As for ur oil filter, itz more recommended to change it every 5k as u do not know how is the filteration of the filter. Better be safe than sorry mar.

I found that prices are more or less the same. I just go with whatever tickles my fancy because after the first few hundred km everything feels exactly alike.
