the chinook is much smaller than i imagined... especially when compared to an attack helicopter such as the apache! but thanks, strikermac for the comparison chart. it sure does put things into perspective (and give me a massive headache as to where to display my future models!) rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

i think can go there sapu all 9. no need subscription. allscript has this strange policy of prioritising walk-in customers over subscribers and retailers....

Yellow Augusta is out of stock, so they replace mine with apache
kiowa and super cobra/viper her i come! wah, pokdell... you went there and didn't get poisoned? how come your haul only your subscription models? no interest in the viper? hmm.gif

missing radome gave it away, huh? then again... it could just have been that the radome got detached. due credit to strikermac! very sharp eyes indeed! you'll be an asset to any recon team...

although blue sidewinders are for training purposes only, they sure make an awesome contrast on the viper! and the us coast guard colour scheme on the dauphin is equally impressive!

I see, I dun know about that blue sidewinders is for training purposes. tongue.gif
Thanks for the knowledge, mate. notworthy.gif

i think the modellers will be able to shed more light on this but if i'm not mistaken, the ring colors around the sidewinders are as follows: blue are inert and brown/yellow is for live (propulsion/warhead). needless to say, an all red sidewinder is universal... it means RUN FAR FAR.

Wingnut, did you go today at around 11am? Saw someone who sapu-ed alot of mags today when i went biggrin.gif

i was there around 3... and by murphy's law, it had to happen! of all the choppers, my viper rotor had to have a defective rotor pin!

Wait, is it too much of a coincidence that mine had the same defect??

Supposedly:
2 Rotors with short rotor pin; 2 Rotors with 'long' rotor pin

My package:
3 rotors with short pin, 1 with long pin.

I solved mine by sanding, with a fine sanding paper, the rotor pin at the hub really gently until the rotor fits in. Remember to mask of the other sections while sanding to prevent any unwanted scratches or paint damages smile.gif
*
yttuck... you're right! i didn't even realised there were two different pin types until you pointed it out! i've got the same combo... 3 short and 1 long. considering to have it replaced rather than going through the trouble of sanding the pins. anyway, anyone has any advice as to how the **** do you fix the rotors on the aloutte iii without snapping the pins???

I lucky get my Viper without problem and correct rotor pin.
But the... my other collection (tank) they send me was damaged and miss part model without checking. sad.gif
Waiting for replacement... don't know if AllScript will do the rite on this one. sad.gif
Afraid their "service"... sad.gif
*
i guess those who got 3 long sockets and 1 short one wouldn't have any problems... it's those with 3 short socket ones that will face assembly issues.

i dunno about you guys but their counter service is excellent. they will tell you to look out for the common defects (if they're not too busy, that is). so i always prefer going over to their office instead of them sending the items over.

Wow! I had the same problem with my set as well! I used sand paper to sand the hubs also, and it was quite an easy fix. Bro WingNut, trust me, it's really an easy fix, you just have to be gentle biggrin.gif
You are right about the counter staff, they are indeed very courteous and soft-spoken. Dealt with a very nice Malay lady whom i failed to get her name tho.

no la... wasn't going to make the trip to allscript just to change the viper. i've got issues with my jetranger, dauphin and aloutte too. sweat.gif
