wonder what will be the difference between the Y510P GT755M and the new A10 Kaveri APU with R9M290X

so currently the Y510P is the best bang for buck ?

hi,

i thought of buying
Satelite L40-AS125XG/B/W, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2299[Onkyo], 2GB, 750GB, 3 years local warranty, W8;

how easy is to add in another 2GB to make it 4GB by myself?, do I need to reformat?

You can refer here :http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

Depending on your budget, and which variant you are purchasing:
15.6"
Y510p, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT755M(GDDR5) + (1920x1080)@RM3399[2.7kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8.1, red backlit, swappable ODD, 120w psu, 2 yrs
Y510p, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT755M(GDDR5) + (1920x1080)@RM3999[2.7kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, exGPU GT755M & ODD, 120w+170w psu, 2 yrs

*Asusming you are getting the RM3999 variant.

The R9M290X and the GT755M SLI is more or less on par, even though the former is placed way above in ranking. You'll notice that one is sometimes better than other, depending on games and probably optimization nod.gif
My vote goes to the Y510p here, since its more powerful, and Nvidia is known for faster and more frequent updates

Just need to open up the casing and slot the RAM in, not hard... No reformatting needed..
Best that you ask shop people to do it for you if you are inexperienced icon_rolleyes.gif

i just recommend to those which maybe can consider macbook based on their usage and requirement only... others people have different requirement or looking for windows only i would not recommend anything to them

suitable or not is for them to decide, not us... and we should not to decide for them to choose any of the laptop... more choices to consider is better... if the laptop we ask them to buy spoil very fast, then how?

while other sifu recommend the laptops, i wonder they recommend just based on spec and online review or they are actually using it. if is the earlier, then it is doh.gif

Yeaaahhh, right... even those who wants a gaming notebook also you recommend an Apple yo thumbup.gif

So we have to use every single laptop in the market to be able to recommend? Maybe you should try that since you are rich, then you can be the sifu here laugh.gif
[You've probably missed out the 1st few post of these thread too, might want to read them]

Anyways, jokes aside, I think you should leave the real recommendation to us. Unlike you, we do recommend Apple when its within requirements; whereas you ONLY recommend Apple, even when Windows ones are qualified, tell me again how that is unbiased? notworthy.gif

Apple Byte will be a heaven for people like you, so you should spend more time there laugh.gif

Lazada is a big company, so should be okay one nod.gif
After all, if anything goes wrong, you are dealing with the brand's SC instead of Lazada (perhaps apart from the 1st 7-days, have to read the T&C carefully before buying ya icon_rolleyes.gif)
But they do postage one right? No COD? hmm.gif

i dont know if you missed out the point that we always encourage the buyers to test the laptop before purchase. like TJ, other sifus and I always said, what we used and tried before, its our personal experience and that cant even help to determine the right laptop for them.

and NO, i dont recommend based on reviews or personal usage. i recommend based on what i tried before.
