LOL . Is there any point on buying Free DOS laptop ??
*
I remembered running games using DOS during x486 era laugh.gif

FreeDOS notebooks are not that common (usually on budget notebooks or specific brands like Illegear) since you have to be pretty experienced to install an Operating System yourself.
Of course, since it doesn't come with a Windows license, its cheaper tongue.gif

yes there is, especially if you want to get rid of Windows 8 or 'save your budget', if you know what i mean.
like what sifu TJ mentioned, its a laptop without windows license or you can call it, an 'empty' laptop.

Upgrade to 8GB RAM with remaining budget, try not to expect too much if you are doing heavy video editing work: You will need a higher budget for a more powerful machine if that is your priority icon_rolleyes.gif

Im indecisive about getting Inspiron 14 7437, Vostro 5470 or Flex 14 (suggested by Raymond and other sifu before) or the Dell 14R?

I want:

- Aluminium body (look smart and professional in my opinion)
- To be able to bring out all day and show to client my analysis and some simply docx (flex 14 flip screen best fit in this case?)
- Long term investment (I dont want to change laptop in the next 5 years so should be able to add ram, SSD/mSata as long as not only HDD SATA which is slow

Any thoughts sifu sifu. The above all I can get around RM2299

- Notebook design is based on personal preference unfortunately laugh.gif Only you can decide whether you like the notebook or not nod.gif
- The Flex 14's screen doesn't flip completely, only to a V-shape, so not much use there hmm.gif However, it does come with an SSHD as standard, which is good~
- Notebook lasts or not depends on luck and user care. But you can get 3 years warranty (~RM250 for Dell) for peace of mind

Maybe these:

Dell
Inspiron 14R, i3-3217U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768;touch)@RM1888[2.33kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8
Inspiron 14R, i3-4010U + Intel HD4400 + (1366x768;touch)@RM1988 [2.32kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8 , 6 cell
Inspiron 14R, i3-4010U + Intel HD4400 @RM1599 [2.32kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8.1 , 4 cell

* I would suggest going for the Dell (better warranty support: Reducing loss when laptop becomes faulty). I would recommend looking for bro Oscar: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DellAlienwar...1751731?fref=ts

Get the RM1599 14R; then use remaining budget to upgrade SSD and extend warranty to 3 years brows.gif Ask Oscar to do it for you brows.gif brows.gif

I saw the link you gave and I contacted him.
I was asking whether Vostro 5470 or better option he told me Inspiron 14 7000 series.
Never told me the 14R I guess becoz it is more than 2kg.

I guess 5470 and Inspiron 14 thinner and less lumsy to carry around.

Why would you suggest 14R over Inspiron 14 7000 series may I know?

Eh? Thought your budget is RM2.3k? hmm.gif
If budget is not a problem, then definitely the Inspiron 14 7000 laugh.gif Its totally another tier of notebook, quite premium thumbup.gif
14"
Dell
Inspiron 14 7000, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2699[2.02kg], 6GB(soldered), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD
Inspiron 14 7000, i7-4500U + Intel HD4400 + (1920x1080; Touch) @RM3399[2.02kg], 6GB (soldered), 500GB (5400rpm), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

Though its best to extend warranty for a Dell notebook to enjoy the superb warranty support;

5470 suffers from weak WiFi reception, and to be honest, is not very solid (my friend is using a 5460) since its very slim hmm.gif

Cool tip: But should I risk my dell without warranty rclxub.gif

and btw that do you guys think of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 looks nice but heavy the one reason I may wait for the Lenovo Y50 is because of its thin design and lighter

Dayum his price is really cheap laugh.gif
If that's the case, by all means go for the Inspiron 14 7000 brows.gif
Don't worry, his notebooks are genuine one haha~ Bro Oscar doesn't really recommend getting Vostro units since spare parts are rarer..

Well, I think its best to extend warranty la, some more Inspiron's warranty is so much cheaper than XPS's haha laugh.gif Bro Oscar don't usually mind helping out one, but its best not to trouble him too much lol. For warranty claims you can always find bro Oscar, he's even faster than Dell brows.gif
