yes there is, especially if you want to get rid of Windows 8 or 'save your budget', if you know what i mean.
like what sifu TJ mentioned, its a laptop without windows license or you can call it, an 'empty' laptop.

so that you can go the illegal method

and btw that do you guys think of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 looks nice but heavy the one reason I may wait for the Lenovo Y50 is because of its thin design and lighter

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 vs Lenovo Y510p

Dell has touch screen, looks like Mac

Lenovo better precessor/cooling?

can't decide

I would love a touch screen and the Dell is keeping me from getting the Y510 but then the Y50 will have touch but im scared the price for that will be high

I hope Y50 will have a 1080p touch priced around 3.5K. 4K HD useless for me with that small screen

I need for College projects and assignment Graphic design, video editing - after effects etc
Right now I use old 4 year laptop and using it for basic illustrator can start to lag. damm rage later whole laptop crash I will loose my work.

casual gaming strongest games be Need for Speed Rivals, Titanfall no need ultra graphics mid can already

I dont care about graphics I care about smooth fps for good gameplay

Windows 8 is good with touch so it is benefit with touch biggrin.gif

What makes you think that you will love touch screen? Even though if i buy a touch screen laptop, i still wont use it. Very useless and inconvenient. Not to mention, constant poking the screen can loosen the hinge.

btw now the touch pad itself is multi touch?

do you recommend Acer Aspire R7-572G-54218G1T
http://www.techhypermart.com/notebooks/ace...ook-laptop.html

Intel® Core™ i5-4210U-1.7GHz | 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SATA HDD | NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 850M

for multimedia design (college) and some gaming?

I will use this for Photoshop, illustrator, after effects video editing

for gaming it will be games like Battlefield 3, Watch Dogs, Need for Speed Rivals

the reason why I am considering this is because of its price is cheaper than probably upcoming Y50. RM4K is pushing my budget

I really like the touch screen. Will be very useful for my design work (got stylus some more!)

any better laptop around 3.5k? I guess the older Y510? but it has last year's (7xx)

y50 a bit expensive already but I may consider it if there is a good deal

Alternatives will be as below
MSI GE60 2PL-282MY APACHE LE 15.6" LAPTOP/ NOTEBOOK
http://www.techhypermart.com/notebooks/msi...p-notebook.html
- MSI GE60 2PL-282MY Apache LE 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ-2.5GHz
- 4GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SATA HDD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX850M
- Windows 8.1

If I add on another 4GB ram on this laptop to make it 8GB can ah? Should be able to.
which will mean the original price of RM3,349 (as shown in hypermart) + 4gb add on ram = around RM 3,500

compared to

Acer R7 also around RM 3,500 this one has touch screen and stylus something i can make use of
- Intel® Core™ i5-4210U-1.7GHz
- 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SATA HDD
- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 850M
- Genuine Windows® 8.1 64-bit

but yes Y50 really hngggz
