Hello.
Parents want a laptop. Need recommendations please?

1. Preferred Brand - Asus/Lenovo
2. Budget - Between RM 2-2.5k
3. Usage - office, work, presentation, everyday use
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 12-14" will do fine,

Notes: They prefer something that has good battery life, 1TB of space, 4GB of RAM, easy to use for presentations and good after sales service.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Good after sales service? Definitely this one brows.gif

Dell Inspiron 14 7000, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2649[1.99kg], 4GB(soldered), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

Can look for bro putochip123, he's selling within your budget~ But since this is one of the best everyday notebooks at the moment, might have to wait for stock nod.gif

Otherwise, take this one:

Lenovo Z400 touch, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2399, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty

though the warranty service is no where near that of Dell's icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi thanks for the speedy answer. I forgot to add one thing. My parents will often be using this laptop for presentations. So VGA cable port is a must on the laptop. nod.gif
Also, they still want an Asus as their laptop. sweat.gif Any other recommendations?

Asus PRO45VJ-V0056X, i3-3120M +Intel HD4000@RM1999[2.4kg], 4GB, 500GB, W7P

Do take note that Asus Malaysia offers the worst warranty service in the country, so if you buy an Asus, pray that you don't need to use the warranty icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh its not just the RAM that's different nod.gif
The CPU and GPU are different too... The reason why I recommended the 2nd one is because it runs on a better GPU. Since you will mostly be running your games at FullHD (1920x1080) resolution, it makes sense to get a graphic card capable of support your games at such a high resolution (higher resolution = more workload for the graphic card).
The GT750M, although older generation, is still slightly better than the GT840M, and its good to have~

Some might argue that with better driver supports, the GT840M will perform better too and its plausible... so its really up to you la haha, since the GP60 is abit cheaper anyways laugh.gif Its a close call... maybe you can read up reviews on GP/GE series and decide from there (based on ergonomics, cooling etc.)

**Din't recommend 17.3" notebooks since most people are not okay with the weight and size haha, if you are okay with it then can consider too albeit the slightly higher price tags.
** No matter what, don't go for the models with GT740M, those are simply too "weak" for gaming at FullHD

Just my 2 cents ~ icon_rolleyes.gif

Recent Asus notebooks are designed slim and light, so basically you won't get VGA/backlit/affordability altogether nod.gif
