Hello guys. I need your suggestions.
I'm a Mass Communication student, I used to have HP Pavilion g4 series as my laptop.
Recently, my mom wants to buy Surface RT tablet as I want to bring something light and easier to carry around college.
But I was thinking, instead of buying Surface RT, I would like to change to Macbook.
I've done several research/survey online which Macbook models I should buy but I still can't make up my mind.

I want something where I can keep a lot of things inside (assignments, pictures, songs) but didn't lag,
I walk quite far from my car to college so I want a thin & light laptop, long last battery.

I need your help, which Macbook models (MBA 13 inch vs MBP 13 inch) should I buy?
You can explain to me in detail about the disadvantages/advantages of both models and suggest me which Macbook model should I buy smile.gif

For your budget and usage, go for something with Nvidia GT740M nod.gif

1. Any brand.
2. Range from around 2k-4k (above 4k a little would be fine too)
3. Studying medicine overseas so probably to do assignments, research and reports, to play l4d2 and dota 2 only, and also to watch movies.
4. At least 15 inch.

Thank you very much in advance for your help! smile.gif
Really appreciate it!

Might I ask, where are you headed?
If you're going to be overseas for years, its better to buy your notebook there since (i) it might be cheaper to buy over there, (ii) the warranty here won't work over there.
Purchasing international warranty in Malaysia can be very expensive, and some even requires transfer of warranty to other countries hmm.gif

I would recommend you survey a bit on the warranty coverage/quality of Asus and MSI over in India first before buying nod.gif
Otherwise if anything happens you're in a heap of trouble rclxub.gif

take a look at the Vostro 5470 that i recommended.
my brother claimed that it can survive 4-5 hours on a single charge, with its 3 Cell 50WHr battery.
*
Bro, I have been eyeing on the 5470 i5 4th gen with Nvidia 720M.
Though with a few issues but still a good buy:

Issues:
Weak wifi (can call Dell to change to realtek if encounter the issue)
Non SSD compatible (At least no one suggest which SSD brand the 5470 compatible with)

I very much like it due to its light weight and also aluminium body and 4th gen processor.
My main usage of it is to travel around with it and play dota 1 occasionally, not very often.

Any recommendation or anything sifu-sifu can add? Especially the SSD compatibility issue.. becoz HDD is slow.

for something thin, light and cheap, Vostro 5470 is always the answer.
but another alternative can be the Lenovo Flex 14. weighed at around 1.8kg with battery.

even mac book also will lag.

Apart from the Surface Pro 2 or the Sony Vaio with docks, I can't think of anything comparable to the MBA in terms of battery life hmm.gif

Hi Guys I need some recommendations to buy a laptop.
Basically I have been looking at the latest Dell Inspiron 15, link here http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-15-7537/pd

My budget is Rm3,600. Before I commit to this model, I would like to know if anyone has any other recommendations with similar or better spec with around that budget? And also if anyone has purchased this model, what are your feed back?

Help is much appreciated. Thank you guys
