sony vr were there too but its only some shark game and roller coaster game, doesnt seems interesting so din snap any pic of it.

Too bad.... Hands on experience with PSVR Rigs or Valkyrie would be great.... blush.gif
I didn't realize there's roller coaster "game" for PSVR, I thought most roller coaster simulation are found on handphone VR headset just to demonstrate VR because there is really no "gameplay" element involve in the ride unless one is referring to on-reel shooter type of game.

I won't hold any hope of cheaper online price during the first year because demand will likely outpaced supply (Sony may not push production to max as initial shortage does not equal sustainable high demand). Mostly we will get people who manage to preorder resell their unit at higher prices just like new console release. dry.gif

The London Heist game required PS move controller but the move controller were not provided at the demo.

Sony Msia can't even get their hand on move controller for demo purposes?
Did you see the ps4 connected to the VR or is it like overseas demo the console is hidden inside a black box? Was really curious if they actually hook it up to a ps4 neo prototype instead of the normal PS 4?

Seems rather pricey for a 1st gen gadget meant for a console that is already well passed its mid life cycle. I'll most likely pass and wait for 2nd gen VR (either PC or console) with better display quality and hopefully VR would have proven its a viable gadget by then. :hmm

On a side note we could have afford this at a much better price if our country's economy is not ruined by corrupt and incompetent leaders. Singaporeans would have bought this with their pocket money. bangwall.gif

I think the price is right. Not sure what unrealistic expectation people are having for the price, like what RM1.2k or even less? Everyone would end up with an even shittier VR experience.

*
Well, depends on how you look at it, if our country was managed well like Singapore and have a currency on par with the tiny island, we would be paying RM599 (not RM1.2k or whatever) just like Singaporean pay SGD599 for the same piece of gadgets. With the ways RM is going down the drain, in the future poor Malaysians (all of us when compared to the citizens of the tiny island down south) would be paying even more because RM is becoming more like toilet paper by the day. The comparison may seem silly, but the mentality to accept the status quo as is will only mean our shitty country becoming even shittier in the not so far future. doh.gif

Ah Beng having a same job in Singapore would be earning almost 3 times the value of the same Ah Beng working in this BolehLand.
Ah Beng in Singapore would be able to buy the same stuff at one third the price paid by Bolehland Ah Beng.
Meanwhile both Ah Beng is working the same 8 hours a day.............. The Ah Beng in Bolehland spent almost his full month salary on a gadget that the Singapore Ah Beng merely folk out from his pocket money...... Bravo BolehLand and the donation-rich leaders.

...suddenly become a politic-inspired post?

Nice derailment man.
Comparing x country to y country will still get you no where. Want to change, then migrate and do something about it. But that's easier said than done right?

I think the PSVR is priced right. But my earlier opinion stands, for what it does currently; it's uninspiring at its current state.
*
hehehe..... not derailment, gamers are also working people and voters/would be voters, I was merely pointing out the shitty situation for us Bolehland people both as gamers and as normal person who has to make a living.

VR is good, but we may not wish to overlook the actual shitty country we live in and why we are made to pay shitty price doh.gif
We pay shitty price because we have shitty currency, we have shitty currecny because we have shitty leaders and gov. I don't blame Sony whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

Sony may have price the VR at RM1849 now, but it could change in the future if our currency further fluctuate to a great extend. Like it or not, politic affect everyone, gamers included. If we can rant about how our different jobs/family affect our gaming hobby, what's wrong with ranting about how our gaming affection is affected by politic/shitty governance?

Not sure if PSVR is a blessing or a curse. All I'm thinking at work is going through the rest of the VR demos and fire up Miku concert and Summer Lesson.

Watching TV shows and movies in large cinematic mode works well, and VR video apps are fantastic too. Especially Vrideo.

My guess this will only get worse as more immersive content gets released.
*
I believe once the VR novelty wears off, you will be able to focus on work again LOL whistling.gif sweat.gif From what I've seen/read so far, most VR games are still tech demo, even those released on Occulus and Vive, most of the games can be completed very fast.

Some of the games are intentionally designed to be short or small chunk per level, so as to reduce the fatigue from VR gameplay. Other games are short because the developer simply want to earn quick $ over the VR craze while it last. hmm.gif

Currently the VR cinema mode does not support watching 3D bluray movies...... doh.gif Can only watch normal 2D movies.
No 3D movies and lower resolution really puts me off the idea of buying PSVR to serve as a private cinema of sort. I like 3D, definitely looking forward for the 2nd gen VR with better resolution and less cables before taking the plunge..... innocent.gif

It's a free media app, think YouTube but with users uploading 3D 360 videos, it's really awesome.
It feels just like in a cinema, just that you can't see the seats.

I know how I'll be watching my 1080p anime from now on
*
It only plays 3D 360 videos uploaded by users, meaning it can't play 3D bluray movies confused.gif
Do we at least get HD quality from PSVR cinema mode? Anything less than HD equivalent sharpness is like watching DVD quality movie.... sad.gif
Perhaps future vr set needs to have at least 4K or even 8k pixels to give us HD equivalent sharpness at such close proximity to our eyes? confused.gif

The review on Driveclub VR is bad, saying the low resolution of the far distance make it difficult to see the turns ahead.

Danggg! It gave me an impression that it would look like a PS1/PS2 game. Anyone can post how rough the graphics look like? a screenshot maybe?

I'm interested on how significant the Pro can improve the VR's graphics.
*
I doubt any direct capture screenshot will show us the true picture quality. The main reason is like a same picture that looks nice and sharp when looked from a distance will looked pixelated if held literally in your face.

Go see many of the YouTube videos, we can definitely see that text is kind of blurry in the game.

The sacrifice of psvr is the picture sharpness, texture and polygons count, but definitely generation ahead of ps2 graphic lah smile.gif back then how little polygons the console can push out.

It's quite the opposite actually, the image looks sharper the closer it is to the screen, that's why I said Miku games worked best, it's always in your face.

Fallout 4 and GTAV would look like shit from a distance, have to confirm tonight. 2D indie titles and fighting games should be fine.
There are BILLIONS to be made here, I'm sure they're working on it. Extra virtual tickets sold for live baseball matches and concert events is coming for sure.
*
I'm actually referring to the overall picture become less sharp when viewed up closed, it's different analogy here, like put a printed brochure up close and sharp print suddenly show all the dots that make up the print.
I know in the game nearer item look great and detailed because they occupy most of the available resolution of the display, just like the car dashboard look really detail in Driveclub VR but the roads ahead is blurry. sad.gif

QUOTE(squall_12 @ Oct 15 2016, 08:53 AM)
ok thanks then the games can be skip i believe the games is rush to make it happened for VR.
*
I don't agree that Driveclub is rushed, the original team was already working on it way before many other titles, I'm afraid it's the resolution limitation of the screen that's the problem for the blurry complain. Possible work around is by having in-game design decision to make road turn more apparent e.g having obvious big arrow signs innocent.gif

7 days exchange. Not a refund. Sometimes, things just doesn't work with the way you living area arrangement. Neither will exchanging works if it entails having to totally redecorate the living area with "dark corners" and black cloths.

Not a problem to those who have dedicated room setup for VR.

Just telling it as it is, folks. Don't want you to purchase the unit and then stuck with the conundrum of having to redecorate, which may or may not cost more money. Money spent on PSVR here is not refundable.
*
It's a bit of mixed reviews out there for this new tech toys, some reported zero/minimal problem while some scream disaster. Anyway the new tech toys requires the support of these early adopters to survive and hopefully flourish in years to come....
*****************************************************************************************

The downgrade in PSVR graphical fidelity reminds me of the time when polygonal video games first arrived in the form of the original playstation, man the graphic was really bad when compared with the beautiful sprite based graphic of cartridge based system, it was not until PS3 or Xbox360 era when the graphic has improved to a more acceptable level.

Nausea in VR reminds me of time when DOOM first arrived on PC, some people were disorientated with the rotating background, now almost everybody can play fast action first person shooter without much problem.

The numerous cables of the PSVR reminds me of the cabled controllers of yesteryear game consoles.....

Man I'm old to have the above nostalgia.......... sweat.gif

It would be nice if I'll still be able to experience adventures in my golden days (not now lah tongue.gif ) by just strapping on a VR headsets with surreal virtual reality....... innocent.gif We may not get hover board or flying car in our life time, but surreal VR is almost within reach....

If it were that easy, if it's a simple case of "disorientation", then it will only take a lot of repetitiously training ourselves to get used to VR and its effects to get ourselves desensitised. It's not that easy in reality. In reality, there are some whom until now can only play specific type of first person shooters only. They are okay with FPSes that simulate human movement heavily with head bobs and actual weight in the steps/walk. They totally cannot play Doom 2016, because the game is too "smooth" and fast for them, as it lacks that "bob and weave" with that weighted characteristics.

The same with VR. Some experiences are enjoyable and fine, others are not. The most apparent example is the game RIGS. IF anyone here got a chance, try RIGS on PSVR. Do the tutorial. In the game tutorial, those who aren't prone to VR nausea, are totally fine in the tutorial stage where the mech's movement is dictated by the movement of your head(designated by the movement of the headset strapped to your head) while remaining stationary. As you progress in that same tutorial, the game unlocks movement by your DS4 thumb stick, in addition to the targeting movement by your head. Try moving forward at a fast pace using the thumb sticks while leaning to the left and glancing to the left at the same time with the headset, and then face forward back again. The game tricks your eyes into thinking that you now have forward momentum, but you arent actually moving. The mismatch and disconnect here, confuses the body and brings the onset of VR nausea.

The cure is the same as the cure for FPS before, train your body to get used to it. It wont be immediate, it will take long play sessions to get your body desensitised to this, some will overcome it, other wont. Until today, I cannot play a VR game called Adr1ft on Oculus Rift without cold sweat coming over me, because the game simulates movement of astronaut in zero-G. There is no "up" or "down" on that game, you lose points of references, and it confuses the body so much it made the body sick. And I don't get sick easily: I'm a theme park commando by hobby, I look for rollercoasters to ride for fun, the more intense the better, and I'm laughing my ass off riding these. I also fly planes for a living, and even aerobatics doesn't phase me. This VR game called Adr1ft however, brought me to my knees. Literally.
*
Well, we'll just play what's acceptable to our body then smile.gif Sony should adopt the VR intensity rating to help consumers choose VR game that is suitable for them. hmm.gif
There's no single solution for everyone as we are all unique. Some people can't see 3D even when they put on the 3d stereoscopic glasses. My heart jumps out every time my character (in Dragon Age Inquisition) jumps down from a high cliff even though it's not even VR..... laugh.gif

Regarding the nausea/discomfort for the space drifting game, perhaps it's not really the fault of the game itself or even VR, if one was to really drift in space, the body is no longer subjected to the normal gravitational pull (hence maybe no sensation of momentum just like VR player), the in ear fluid will supposedly failed and the constant rotation of the body without horizon reference from eye sight input will sure put everyone in discomfort except a trained astronaut. rclxub.gif
