just curious.. can i play normal game on VR? i mean use the VR headset like TV replacement so that i can play in my bedroom.. no TV in room..

the Merdeka promotion from HeavyArm for PS4 Pro + VR is too damn attractive.. the main concern is i dont wanna sit in my living room downstair to play game at night.. only weekend i will be lounging at living room..

Yes, you can play normal 2D game using PSVR cinematic mode.

just tested the VR set at Midvalley roadshow.. how come it looked pixelated one? i thought it will be damn sharp one? the game on the demo was some racing game.. not sure about the name though...

Driveclub VR, literally the worst game to showcase VR. It's considered as the worst looking game on PSVR.

so actually the VR's display is very sharp one? maybe later i go and try again.. the promotion looked very attractive.. PS4Pro + VR camera set around 2999..if take PS4 slim 1tb with VR set then is 2799.. any big difference on Slim vs Pro on VR?

It varies between games. Some will look as good as normal TV but most of them is a little blurrier. All in all, it won't be HDTV quality for sure. How VR works is, you have two lenses that magnifies the screen, therefore the compromises in graphic. Pro and Slim differences are quite significant for newer games if you are looking for sharper graphics. Often Pro upgrades are higher anti aliasing, downsampling from much higher resolution or smoother framerate.

PSVR launch games are not really great showcase and I'm sure most of the roadshow/shop in Malaysia are demoing PSVR with those. Makes me upset honestly, it's leaving a pretty bad impression for many people. If you can manage to find a place that demo Farpoint with Aim controller, you should try that. Or just try to find any demo station that is using PSMove, which is the definitive way of playing VR, but I doubt you will find any of that, they never prepare games with PSMove.

Here's some random gameplay with PSMove/Aim, you can expect the graphic to look as good as what you're seeing, maybe even better in VR.

can the head tracking in cinematic mode be disabled?

No option to disable, but when in cinema mode, camera is not required for tracking the headset. Can unplug the camera from the system or away from camera view and PSVR still functional and able to display 2D.

you still need a 4K HDMI switch or unplug/plug HDMI cables to get the full 4K HDR experience on your TV?

only realized got such issues when I got my PS4Pro yesterday, testing out with my friend's PSVR
It seems my TV takes a while to get the handshake frm the PSVR for pass-through as well

If the current PSVR hardware cannot support the full 4K/HDR pass-through, think I'm gonna delay getting one for the moment, waiting for PSVRv2 perhaps
