I'm using T-Utility Hardware Monitor that comes with the biostar CD.

It show 25c. Shouldn't be software error after I flashed the bios. (I assume).

T-Utility gave me 'wacko' reading.

Use CoreTemp, it's more accurate.

Speedfan uses hardware sensor

CoreTemp reads temperature direct from the die.

Asus already released 0304 bios.. claimed solving memory compatibility..
donno solve the vdimm prob or not.. not try yet.. have u try it?

I thought M2N-E only have RAM issue... not Vdimm issue.

then why dunwant buy with dinster at bulk der/?
i hear some ppl say dinster sell Ram is really very cheap , but since like got something problem
like lower alot than market price..
call me becarefull wor..
you shouldn't worry with dinster. he's a reliable seller.

it's just people preference whether they want to buy from shop or from online.

there are many people buying performance ram from him, maybe you only see 'low end segment' which are value-mid section... those aren't that attractive. people go for g.skill high end like GBHZ series. for low end... might as well buy the ones which is easy to find locally.

GBLA are considered low end performance RAM, that's why it's cheap.

as what i've mentioned many times in various threads, L2 cache size doesn't make impact on K8 performance, especially with super bandwidth DDR2 provided, small L2 cache is not an issue and does not give any significant performance hit in real life usage.

Cyrus2K, elaborate your setting.

Firstly, install the latest AMDX2 optimizer patch (AMD website) if you haven't installed it. Not sure whether it fix anything besides optimize the performance, well just to be safe.

Secondly, for each voltage increament... try SuperPi 8M and test it by increasing Mhz little by little until you meet instability, then you up the voltage by 1 notch. That will prevent you from feeding voltage where it's just unnecessary.

Thirdly, while leaving your memory timings at AUTO, just set the command per clock at 2T.

Fourthly, watch out for the temperature.

Lastly, have you flashed to the latest BIOS?

QUOTE(Cyrus2k @ Sep 1 2006, 11:35 AM)
Well, now had installed the dual core optimizer. I had also flashed into the newset BIOS (using the windows flashing utility)

Thanks for the advice on voltage increment, now I found that my proc could run at 255x10 = 2.55GHz @ 1.425 Vcore  thumbup.gif
But there is one starnge thing I found; when I put the 1.425 Vcore in Bios, it will show as 1.440 Vcore in cpuz. Does this mean my mobo giving some extra Vcore to the proc?

At 2.55GHz, I could pass super pi 8M & 32M but unable to get pass Stress Prime after 5 minutes...

At 2.6GHz @ 1.45 Vcore, could not pass 8M (restart automatically)..

I dunno whats limiting my comp now...  rclxub.gif
You can pass 32M, but failed prime...

My tips is check the ram first. Use BIOS built-in memtest and let it run for a while and see whether got error or not. If there is error, you need to tweak the RAM a bit more, loosen the 'special timings' or add voltage 1 notch if needed.

If there is no error, try add slightly more cpu voltage like 1 notch for example. And try prime whether can pass already or not. If you can pass the test for like 1-2hour but will get error after that, back off 1MHz off the FSB and try run CPU Burn-in (no error detection) for 8hours, then try add 1MHz again.

I wouldn't recommend MSI if you really want to OC. If normal usage then no problem.

why u all DFI mobo so expensive but this mobo just support ddr2 677 only......
no support ddr2 800 wor..
DDR2-667 or DDR2-800, that depends on memory controller, not motherboard. I run mine ar DDR2-800 no problem at all, if you saw my screenshot of SuperPi 32M stable a few pages earlier.

Yo i m new to all these stuff...then what psu should i get to do Overclocking??as for how many Watt? why do we need good psu to OC huh? sorry i m a newbie..

Another question...why my proc doesnt display "code name" in my CPU-Z...lol..
Cheap psu often undervolts under stress. Stress here does not refer to your system load, but more on how the whole system struggles to get quality voltage when overclocked or running out of specification.

With cheap psu, +12v rail may only provide 11.3v under overclock condition.

DFI Infinity NF ULTRAII -M2 is a good mobo
nice to oc and cheap
but i dislike this mobo ori no free SLI Bridge vmad.gif
*
you're expecting too much.

it's not an SLI mobo, of course SLI bridge is not provided...

and you still need to mod the chip to make SLI work

you still need to mod the chip regardless the availability of the jumper

setting the jumper is just to allow both PCI-e slots running at 8x since nF4 SLI does not support 16x SLI

no need to ask kenny, he doesn't know that much, he only sell the mobo

ask pcmoddingmy instead, he did it.

if i mod the chip
the warrantry will void right
sweat.gif  sweat.gif
to cover back is easy, but to mod it is kinda hard a bit, must be very very careful not to damage the chip

on the SLI contact point, it is covered with epoxy. you must scrap off the epoxy to expose the contact points, but need to be very careful not to scrap the contact point itself because it's very tiny. if the contact point gone, then habis la biggrin.gif
