The sticker issue is more of some people rip the sticker too hard damaging the fan. Just pull it slowly while putting finger on the fan on the center of the fan, it will come out nicely |

hi guys, wanna ask a question. i got a 4k display not long ago and was told i should get min 4gb vram if i ever plan on playing. I actually only play dota 2 religiously so previously i was waiting for 960 since its not actually that graphic intensive. but apparently the wait is killing me and a poster above said its gonna get delayed to 2015.
i searched and apparently there are versions of 760 with 4gb vram but benchmark on other games at 4k is not very promising, but what do you think about dota 2? i could afford 970/980 but penny saved is always good. 1) will the 760 4gb suffice/should I? 2) best version of gtx 970 in terms of price/performance? 3) do i need additional air cooling? (refer down) Im using tj08-e (10tb on 4-2-2-2 HD so the hard disk bracket is full and now covering the front fan) + sf 600w if that's important. |

It's not affecting me, this is because I've never let my fan sleep on its own. I have a profile set where the fan is constantly running at 30% during idle and up to 65% during load. But I believe the fix to the sticker is just to remove it slowly (preferbly heating it up first) like Najmods said. |

Finally got my 970 G1 Gaming. Nice card, manage to get 1500MHz without extra voltage. Don't really want to push further though as I'm already CPU limited in some games due to my old i7 930 CPU
Next up, to try some older games like Skyrim with DSR QUOTE(heavy rain @ Oct 17 2014, 03:05 PM) yo guys, not quite sure what my problem is but im using two msi gtx 670 pe in sli, today when i play bf4 it flickering blue something like that. i try run valley benchmark 1.0 and it also flickering blue/pink, when i disable the sli it work fine. already test each card for a problem but it seem fine either bf4 or the benchmark. so izzit the sli bridge problem? or what? because i already clean the sli bridge and put it back and after that at the nvidia control panel it say to use maximum 3d performance connect the sli-ready graphics cards with an sli connector but i already connect the sli bridge. sory for the bad english You should try using another SLi bridge. See if you can get your friends or anyone to lend you one. Most modern motherboards come with it. |

Wow! Gigabyte 780 Ti for SGD 548 + Borderlands Pre Sequel. Comes up to about RM1400.

Anyone with a GTX980/970 or a 6GB VRAM card played 'Shadow of Mordor' with HD Texture Pack + Ultra Textures turned on?
I tried it on my 'now' merely mortal GTX680 2G, and it is a slide-show fest at 1080p about 40-50% of the time. Well, I've read how some gamers are freaking out and calling it BS without actually downloading the HD Texture Pack in the first place since it recommends 6GB VRAM for Ultra. That said, they have discovered that, 'Shadow of Mordor' will use at most 3.7Gb of VRAM (at 1080p) in Ultra. I am waiting patiently for the rumored 8GB GTX980... no idea if it will ever benefit a mere 1920x1080 display or that my i7-870 (OC'd to 4Ghz) will bottleneck. Ultra: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « High: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Open the image in a new window and compare them side-by-side, minimal but somewhat noticeable difference. QUOTE(Skidd Chung @ Oct 20 2014, 01:15 AM) No, I don't think so. I'm not trying to pull down on 980 owners, but currently I do think the 980 is overpriced and it's only priced that way simply because it's slightly faster than the outgoing 780Ti. Problem is, the 780Ti is quite a bit cheaper. When the 980Ti (assuming it'll come, it should) releases and the 780Ti is complete phased out, we'll see a more sensible 980 price. That would be a better time to get it. How long that'll be, I don't know. QUOTE(Skidd Chung @ Oct 20 2014, 05:57 AM) Wow! Gigabyte 780 Ti for SGD 548 + Borderlands Pre Sequel. That's cheaper than some 970s and the 780Ti WILL outperform the highest overclocked 970 (I'm talking near 1600mhz core here).http://www.newegg.com/global/sg/Product/Pr...N82E16814125673 Newegg SG. Performance hit for a 970/980 on Ultra textures is minimal, on 1080p at least. But I find no reason to play with the Ultra textures pack when the High preset is basically almost identical. I'd rather take the extra performance and add extra SGSSAA to the game instead.I tried it on my 'now' merely mortal GTX680 2G, and it is a slide-show fest at 1080p about 40-50% of the time. Guys, what do you think of the Gainward Phantom 970? Idealtech selling at RM1199. Clock speed reaches 1304Mhz with "boost".
What is this "boost". Do I only turn it on when gaming? |

Boost is where the GPU increase clock speed to give better performance. granted, its only applicable if (based on GPU Boost 2.0)What is this "boost". Do I only turn it on when gaming? - you dont reach the thermal limit (standard is 80C) its useful if youre playing a game thats rather demanding in terms of graphics where with your superior cooling (say you have GPU watercooled) which keeps the GPU core cooled enough for it to maximise itself to the highest Boost clock EDIT: mostly its on gaming perf afaik, unless you use Geforce GPUs for other than gaming purposes This post has been edited by marfccy: Oct 20 2014, 10:34 PM |
