One tends to easily forget the good harvests in the past and get "mad" when one does not catch any fish while others get some big ones! Ha.

Yes, naughty and greedy me!

if you have ASW cert, you can apply overdraft facilities from the bank...this thing quite famous in 2008 till 2010 i think..
let say, u have 50k in asw, u convert it to cert and apply OD at the bank, bank will give u 90% of the OD cert i.e 45k...

from the OD, u withdraw another 40k and invest it in asw or asb again...u left 5k in the current to service the fee..

if u do this, you can earn dividend of (50k+40k)Xdiv rate...

if you dont do that, u only earn 50kXdiv rate...

which one will generate more money?

but of course, you have to pay the OD facilities ranging blr-1 to blr-1.65, depend on the bank...

Interesting infor.

I thought ASX ownership is not that transferable and thus banks do not accept ASX as collateral. ASX certificate can by pass that?

Thanks.

it is not transferable..more like you pledge it to the bank...banks still accept the pledge of ASB now, but it is just that you have to have the business reg, ssm license...etc, quite strict nowadays compared to those days
*
Thanks.

So, if something goes wrong and the bank needs to get the money back, can they use the ASX certificate to get their money back?

Strange thing.

Cheerio.

just like some forummer mentioned, ASx certs / deposits can be pledged for financing purposes

i can also confirm that maybank factors in the future income generated from the dividends as your income source for higher financing limit
*
I see. cool.gif

My wife (who used to work for a bank) said her bank does not accept ASX. Thus my asking on the logic flow.

Thanks.

as with ASB financing practise,

the bank will ask you to fill & pre-sign & pre-thumbprint a selling form (Borang Pelepasan Pinjaman / Cagaran BS9) for that amount and they will keep it

they will use that form to sell the cert on your behalf if you fail to repay the loan

I see! Thanks!

Just realised that there is another PM in my town. So went there today while in that area for another job.

Small PM and only 1 staff, pretty lady. Ha.

Got RM1K ASM on my first line and expected more. Was about to sms my friend on this big catch till the lady told me only RM100 for the second line. After checking my AS1M & ASW, she checked my ASM again and got RM900. So total RM2K.

Not bad. Not many people go to that small PM (so no queue problem), pretty, friendly & helpful staff.

Lucky me? Ha.

Sorry Sifu for grabbing your ASM. Let me know your ASM ac no and I will try to transfer it to your ac! Ha. doh.gif

Don't know why lately I have been pretty lucky in meeting nice and helpful bank/PM staff with my ASX purchases.

Hope the trend will not only maintain but increase further. Ha. Greedy guy! rclxm9.gif

Went to the post office today to pay my bills and saw a huge number of people withdrawing their AS(X)'s.

So i guess that this is the right time for those that are looking to purchase this to try their lucks.

Wish that I tried multiple times today then.

You did not try?

Good to see a young chap learning and working on building one's wealth so early. Wish I did that when I was a student (rather than till I was working).

Thanks but trust me, I'm not good with saving money. Opened up this account as I wanted to see for how long could i stay away from getting my hands on it lol sweat.gif

Have always had a habit since schooling days to save some of my pocket money and bank it in and guess what happens ?
I'll withdraw all and spend it on various things such as on video games and gadgets. Would actually feel happy to own these goods but as time passes the economics of happiness reduces and ill be like damn, should have saved it instead and then the same thing happens again during the next holiday lol vmad.gif

==> I also have a craving to buy things I like e.g. books, computer related stuff, etc etc. But good to report that I am now more selective (some may call it calculative!) in things I buy. Cut down and buy only things I REALLY WANT. And no upgrade for the next 5 years! Ha. Make the best of what one has is now my policy. Delay gratification if put into practice can do wonders later in life. Of course, I do not mean not buying anything. Just think, analyse and then decide on your purchases. And don't go for the latest model etc. Older models will be better value for money.

Glad to report that I managed to get 1+1+2+3K at ASNB today. Ran out of money after the 4th strike.

Good luck to those who try today.

No problem.

But you need to pay tuition fee first. Ha. Few cups of Coffee Beans?

1st lesson, get some cash and go to ASNB, bank or PM regularly.

2nd lesson, be nice to the staff even if you get zero strike. You will find out who are the nice and helpful ones and who are not.

3rd lesson, if the above fail, repeat 1st and 2nd lessons. Ha.

Helping others like informing others when you get a big strike will also help you later when they see big fishes coming in.

Cheerio.

Pai seh lah!

Just learning from my attempts in catching the fish and then try to make my fishing trips more enjoyable and productive. Ha.

Like what I learnt from Kings of Restoration on ASTRO (Henry Ford)

" whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right"

It is you, your attitude that will make the final difference. Ha.

I thought bumiputra means native of the land. Maybe I am wrong here with my limited knowledge. Ha.

How does converting to Islam make one a native of the land? Strange laws we have here.

Sorry, off topic here.

Have a nice and enjoyable HR break to all!

Better and bigger ASX fish harvests after the HR break! Be positive! Ha.

yup, Bumiputera is native of the land but in ASNB terms non-bumi muslims are "special" Minority Group which entitle to ASB  icon_rolleyes.gif

look at Q2 => http://www.asnb.com.my/english/eligibility.htm

Note : However they are still non-bumiputera hence, for ASW 2020, they are classified under non-bumiputera quota.
