Yes, 5K in 1 go.

One learning here is the fishing season the week before and the week after a festive celebration.

So can we have 1 big celebration every month? Ha.

What is the next celebration? Merdeka?

Wah, always carry so much cash with you, but be careful.
*
Thanks for your concern.

I missed some big fish opportunities in the past and said to myself that I should be better prepared.

Of course, one needs to gauge the risk , put in appropriate measures to minimise the risk from happening and also mitigation if it happened.

E.g.,
* don't carry your cash in bag, easy to be snatched away.
* put your cash in deep and tight pockets.
* limit the cash to what you can comfortably carry.
* be observant for snatch thief especially when leaving the counter. Someone could be watching.
* go with a friend, bodyguard?
* for banks, withdraw from saving account when needed. No choice but with cash when it comes to PM & ASNB.
* pre-plan & prepare what you can (form filled etc) so that one will not make mistake/forget when in a rush.
* no sweet talking to pretty girl or handsome man!
* dress and behave like a commoner.
* etc etc

Thinking of opening new ASW accounts for my 3 kids on 2 Sept. I will be happy even with 1 new account. Ha.

Any feedback from those who tried before on dividend days?

Managed to get only RM600 for ASW at PM today.

There were 2 Chinese mid-age ladies there. One wanted to sell her units (RMx0,000) to her friend with her. She wants to use the money for a holiday. The PM staff told her that her friend might not be able to buy the units she wanted to sell as others might get the units before her friend. She did not sell her units at the end.

No holiday for her? Don't know lah.

The FBM KLCI fell 1.47% (27.45 points) today, its biggest fall so far this year on news that the United States had authorised air strikes against militants Iraq.

So the NAV (RM) of those variable pricing ASx could drop "quite big" next week  icon_rolleyes.gif
p/s: others private UT who are invested in Bursa Malaysia may also be affected (NAV)

Saw this in The Sun. A typo with the 1300 support? Or they meant 1800?

Sometimes you need essential hardware like an alarm clock rather than relying on pure luck to wake you up! Ha.

Tak banyak ikan on last Fri anyway.

I really feel that there is some pattern in catching this ASX units (start of the month, middle or end of the month). Not 100% correct every time but helps in having the extra edge!

Preparing for the 2-Sept ASW mega big fish bounty!

Good luck to all who try!

Another thing, when the "waiting list" is long for ASx transaction (more than 10), the CS staff would stop giving out the number & would tell customers that "system offline" crap  or  would ask custumer to wait for 10min before they start giving the numbers  shakehead.gif
*
Sometimes they don't want to issue the tickets and just collect your book for the counter or ask you to go to the counter directly. Faulty ticket machine? Cannot be as other ticketings are working (for normal bank transactions).

This bank ASX business is really weird. At the risk of being accused of jumping to conclusion, my guess is the banks do not want to do this ASX business but forced to by the force up there! Ha.

I impose a ban on rhb bank because previously the officers told me that in the afternoon, the so-called system will be online from 2pm until 3pm only..

At first i don't believe them, and i went to the another branch, mana tahu when i reach there at 3.20pm, the officer tell me that the system is already offline..

Most of the time go to RHB in the afternoon, sure empty handed without the chance to even try..

So i only go RHB in the afternoon to try deposit into those fixed price funds.
*
I am speculating here. I think the reason why they say the system is offline before 2 pm is because of lunch break (no staff to man the ASX counter).

"System offline" is an over-used phrase in banks and also over-abused words. Staff not available (sick leave, lunch break) too many people queuing up, etc.

My 2 cents.

Maybe I can help here.

My 2 sons have ASM accounts, opened by my wife when they were just babies.

Now, learnt that they will have to go to ASNB with their mum (as her name is in the passbook) to change to a new passbooks as they are now more than 12 yrs old. Need to fill in a form, kid's IC etc.

On buying, I think you can still buy with the present passbook. That is what I have been doing.

Great info. But my passbook left at my hometown. I'm in KL . Is it possible to get a new account ? I know it's funny n troublesome to keep track. But hands too itchy.

Don't think you can get a new one as you left the current one at home. Govt bodies are particular on following the rules. So ....

Ask your parents to courier to you the passbook?

On the "system offline" subject, one thought came to mind this morning.

I do not recall having this system offline problem when I went to PM or even ASNB. System offline problem only at banks from my experience.

Have you experienced system offline at PM or ASNB? PM or ASNB has better system there?

Anyone with good ASW catches?

Heard about the incoming school of fish before the D day on 1 Sept and thus made extra effort to test the water. No catch so far. So about to go back to my usual SOP (std operating procedures). Ha.

Free? It is up to one self on sacrificing for things like this. It will pay back handsomely later, trust me.

Went to pick up my son's IC and went to the PM around that area.

Good news, managed to get some ASW. BUT only RM160! Ha. Don't know whether this is the front end school of fish coming in and tail end school of fish leaving. Ha. The PM staff was very helpful with her many tries.

One question preparing for the ASW div day. Understand that to open a new ASW ac, they need to prepare the passbook and then try to see if there is any free RM100 unit available. If no unit, then they will cancel the account and cut the pass book into 2. Right?

Is it possible to keep the passbook and then try again (say 30-60 mins later at the same place) to see if there is any unit available? I guess it is up to the staff.

Cheerio.

Yup, if theres no units, they would discard your passbook and its not possible to ask them to keep the book and then to come again later.

Reminds me of what happened when i went to Maybank to try to open up an ASM account.
*
Gee, mission impossible for us to open new account!

My mission on 2 Sept & 1 Oct is to try my "gentleman touch" to open accounts for my kids. Be positive and picture in my head seeing myself getting the passbooks! Later it WILL come true! Ha.

Cheerio.

P/S Some of you will be thinking this guy is so desperate and mentally @#*^! Ha.
