QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Jun 10 2014, 08:11 AM) Like what I read in a book, the person who keeps an eye on things he wants will get what he wants e.g., Tom keeps an eye on the floor, road for money. Tom will more likely find some money than others who do not look at the floor, road. So, doing my part on ASX to learn and hopefully will get more than the average d*** & Harry. Ha. P/S Ya, some may add here that Tom will more likely get knock down by a car by not paying attention while on the road! Just an illustration/example to highlight my point on working on what one wants. QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jun 11 2014, 10:23 PM) Thanks for your help!So far, looks like the ASNB population in LYN is more towards the higher end of the RM scale. Will update the graph when I have 30, 60, 90 etc participants. Interesting to see this: AA 70% of ASW with < RM5000! BB ASM has highest % of people in the RM10,000 - 500,000 range. Why AA? Higher dividend for ASW and thus AA? Why BB? Cheerio. |

Disappointed that only 12 members here have participated in the ASNB poll. I am sure there are more than 12 ASNB members here.
Don't worry, no one will know who has what. So, tolong lah. Thanks. ASNB Link ASNB Survey |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jun 13 2014, 09:59 AM) one has to realize that only kopitiam can generate enough traffic to boost LYN.net to 3rd ranking nationwide I see. Ha.http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2013...te-news-portal/ so if u go cast your net on the grass, don't expect to catch any fish. cast your net into the sea. then you'll see the result QUOTE(Berkshire Breakaway @ Jun 13 2014, 10:00 AM) there was once i told people i maxed out my ASB But in this forum, no one knows who you are (unless you reveal your identity) and the poll result does not reveal who is who either.people started stalking me i would understand if people are afraid Cheerio. |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jun 13 2014, 11:59 PM) Yeah, i read that news. He is the deputy police chief in Johor state, retired in Muar, 2 wives, 2 families, and fighting for the few millions money in ASB, ASW, and ASD. I see. Maybe someone can write a book called The Policeman Next Door (cf The Millionaire Next Door)! Ha.The interesting part was why a retired policeman has such big amount of money???? Hearing not so nice news from this state. Cheerio. |

Good to see some more taking the poll. 21 participants now.
Comparing the ASNB population here with the PNB, graph below shows the ASNB population in LYN is shifted to the higher RM end. 4 out of 21 with > RM500,001! Hope to see more votes coming in. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3254430 Cheerio. This post has been edited by plumberly: Jun 15 2014, 02:40 PM |

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jun 18 2014, 04:39 PM) ASD dividend same like ASM style only. previous 6.8sen, now 6.6sen I concur. So I can conclude upcoming ASW & AS1M dividend also around 6.6sen Like what I have said before, since 2009, ASM, AS1M & ASW all started to give about the same dividend rates. That prompted me asking whether there was a change in govt or PNB resulting in a same rate policy for all ASM, AS1M & ASW funds. |

With 40 participants, the PNB and LYN populations are compared below.
Shows Lyn members with >RM0.5 million at 83 times higher than PNB population. True? Looks like the rich guys like to hang around in Lyn forum! Ha. I really believe there are some members in this forum with >RM0.5 million. Assuming some are teenagers' inputs (say 5 of the 10 entries), the revised graph is as below. Personally, I hope to move to the next RM group with my visits to the banks, PM etc. Thanks to all for your votes. Cheerio. This post has been edited by plumberly: Jun 19 2014, 02:04 PM |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jun 22 2014, 10:51 PM) i'll do the necessary 2 cents from my experience.if i were in your position, i'd emailed directly to the customer feedback at HQ level of that bank Instead of sending in your suggestion/complaint to the service center/feedback center, suggest to send it to someone higher up, e.g. MD etc. That person will have the power to do something, rather than the "normal" staff hesitating, not knowing what to do as it affects some staff. I have done that now (to MD) twice so far and with good results. Cheerio. This post has been edited by plumberly: Jun 23 2014, 08:40 AM |

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jun 25 2014, 08:13 PM) do u think next year got any "huge" correction @ market crash? QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Jun 25 2014, 08:26 PM) Yes, when I saw the reserve amount they are keeping, I was asking myself "why so much?". I do not know what is their normal dividend payout ratio (e.g. REIT at >90% required by law).Like I asked earlier, they have crystal ball which is saying bad time ahead? Ha. I did some analysis some time ago. It says a peak somewhere in between Dec 13 & Feb 16 (a rather wide 2 yrs window) and then followed by a decline and trough. PNB shares a similar view? Cheerio. |

QUOTE(yeanz @ Jun 26 2014, 01:37 PM) Hi guys. I've spent the whole night yesterday reading this whole thread. Now I roughly get the idea of how these funds work. Wah, you must be a very determined and hardworking girl, spending the whole night reading and learning from this thread! Well done!I'm interested in ASM, AS1M and AWS 2020. I don't have any account currently. My questions are, - I can only open account (for all the 3 mentioned funds) upon units availability, right? And that depends on my luck. So meaning I could go try my luck at ANYTIME of the year? As in even today if I go, and there are units available, then I can open account? The same applies to all of them right? As a test, one exam question - when will ASW2020 dividend be "released/available" this year? Ha. Just kidding. My answers to your questions: AA For fixed price funds, yes, only ASM, AS1M & ASW2020 are available for non bumi. BB You can only open the 3 accounts IF there are units available for sale. But it will be a big task to persuade the staff to open an account for you. Why? It is quite some work to fill in the form/computer, print the passbook etc. And if there is no unit available, then the staff will have to cancel the account. Why do they do this this way? Beats me too! All the best! Cheerio. This post has been edited by plumberly: Jun 26 2014, 05:12 PM |

QUOTE(yeanz @ Jun 26 2014, 06:10 PM) Hello, I just saw your reply here. Don't know why earlier it didn't show. My "missing" reply maybe related to my "lost" internet connection this afternoon. Later I got a call from TM asking me to upgrade my streamyx, saying the connection in my area is bad with the hills etc. Incidentally, my area is not hilly! If I upgraded to a higher speed on the same supporting hardware, how is that going to help me? Sometimes I really wonder about our M'sian business integrity! I want to start learning about investments, so I stumbled upon this thread. As I read along, I find it quite interesting, and easier to understand compared to other type of investments in the other thread Then without realizing it, I read till 3am+ I think I passed the test, right? Yeah, that's what i'm concerned about. I'm afraid they will straightaway say NO or reluctant to check for me. Hope I meet a helpful staff. My 3 suggestions: AA Of the 3, try to open ASM first. Why? It is open to all M'sians (bumi and non bumi) and thus a higher chance of for sale units available when you apply as bumi and non bumi units are treated as the same. For AS1M and ASW, you can only buy when non bumi sell their units. BB Try Post M'sia first. I find the staff there more friendly than bank staff. Be courteous to them and they will reciprocate. CC Go and open one tomorrow to test the water. Get the form, see what is required, photocopy the docs, have RM100 ready etc. Good luck! |

Managed to get some today. 1K, 3K + 1K for AS1M.
Think some more but I emptied my wallet. Pity! Hope others also managed to catch some of the fish! Cheerio. P/S There was a chinese lady who came to my counter when my purchases were in progress and complained to the staff that she has been waiting for ages. I told her I have been waiting for some time too. That lady came back the second time and complained to the staff again about the waiting. Can see that the staff was a bit annoyed. It is people like this who is creating a bad relationship between the staff and ASX buyers. I tried to pour cold water to cool down the staff and the staff was very helpful with my purchases. Ha. |
