Any monitor above 23" is going to support 1080p or High Definition because widescreen LCD monitors are viewed from a close proximity, meaning the screen can't use a panel with a low pixel count.
*
NO, you are wrong, even at 1900x1200, in pixel counts, the monitors should be able to support 1080p, but most of the monitor in the market now do not have the input(whether dvi or component) to support up to 1080p, even the new Dell 2407 cannot do 1080p.

Ehem.. ehem ....the person's quoted/answered that has retracted his answer. Assuming u use your computer's vga/dvi for 1080p playback.. easyly done with 1080p trailers, or HD-DVD and Blueray player/drive with 1080p movies...  I see no problems. HDCP not implimented at the moment

Besides the moderator requires feed back from technician and customers.. something is bound to be lost in the translation.

And...the new BenQ 24 inch has already been released in Taiwan with full 720p, 1080i/p HDMI support.

p.s. it is 1920x1200 res... not 1900x1200
*
well, for me it's pretty clear that the 2407 will not pair well with the ps3. Even my Dell 9400 is running 1920x1200 native, but as long as the input is not there to support 1080p, i can only download some HD clips to run those amazing visuals, unless i can put a HD-DVD/Blueray rom into it.

The BenQ 24 was announce a while ago, do you have any idea how much is the retail in taiwan?, i saw on a canadian site where it can be pre-ordered, comes up to about Rm 3k. A very good buy if it is indeed 3k.

um..widerscreen sifus...i need some of u guys input...

hrm...IF i were to get the Dell 2407, how would the quality be compared to the Samsung LA27S71B as sold here : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=324921&st=0

would the samsung fit my needs for a gaming LCD better compared to the dell?
*
It's 2 totally different beast, for a PC monitor i dont think the samsung LCD tv is suitable for word processing/document reading in general and graphic softwares.

but it will be good for gaming.being able to directly connected to ur PS2/xbox....

but the dell supports 1920x1200 resolution, and it has component , s video, composite and DVI which you can plug ur player into as well, so it's smaller but more versatile....and the pricing is very competitive...

but the catch is, THE BenQ FPW241!!!...if you can wait..and have the money, at this time we can only hope is priced competitive...check out the REVIEW

i have called benq malaysia, they dun have info on the availibilty yet, but even the americans are waiting , the preoder prices are around 800USD...if it arrives here around RM3k...it's a good buy..let's hope it comes soon..

further price drop of the Dell 27incher 2707wfp! to rm4099.....must be because of the impending Samsung Syncmaster 275T...both uses the same panel.....hope they start a price war.. icon_idea.gif

Guys,

I just bought Samsung 225BW!
Its superbly awesome and the screen size is HUGEEEEEE.
And I'm really excited about it.

Now the thing is that I see pretty bad backlight bleeding at the top that kinda sucks the whole thing.

Also I wanna ask..I got a different kind of cable...its white in color...is that the digital cable?

Right now I'm connecting to analog the normal cable use to connect LCD's and CRT's
*
u might wanna request a replacement for a bleeding free unit....where u bought it from?how much?

it doesnt matter the color of the cable, it's the connector, if ur GC has a DVI(normally white) and an analog(notmally blue) connector, use the DVI.

Price should be less than RM1300  wink.gif

I was waiting it too~  nod.gif

that's a good price, i saw in somewhere, samsung uses true 8bit panel on the 22incher, instead of the 6+2 dithering....

what happened to 2007wfp? suddenly price shoot up to rm 1889. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

it'll be down again very very soon, typical dell strategy, whenever they wanna push a certain models, the mark down the price slightly and markup the other models tremendously, so that model looks alot cheaper....
