You have to get those widescreen which support 1:1 scaling.. Else you can't do anything others than seeing your game being stretch which is farking ugly. If the widecreen LCD does support 1:1 scaling, then yes, 2 black bar will be shown at left and right when you are playing games that doesn't support widescreen.. Mine Dell 228WFP doesn't support 1:1 scaling..And now I have to buy another 19" LCD for non-widescreen purpose..

Can anyone teach me anyway of checking my LCD when it arrives?I mean check by making sure everything is fine and working properly.Is there any specific method or software that can do so?

Nah the 226bw unfortunately does not support 1:1 scaling. One of the reasons I haven't bought one!
