I guess it really depends on luck.

For your case, I suppose you better insure your windscreen. At least you can change them out every 2 - 3 years once it's cracked.

Mine is not under Honda Fluid as kena fake item before, now went to another reputable brand , fully syn with compatible with ATF-Z1 or ATF-DW1
*
How often you change your ATF fluid? You follow Honda's recommendation to replace every 60,000 km or earlier?

Sometimes, other brand of ATF might have better detergent, thus making the fluid goes dark faster.

Would you like to listen to my recommendation if I am in your situation? biggrin.gif

outside workshop recommend yearly or 20k km.
i intend to follow. especially my previous experience with the ATF online, since then i replaced once only. so likely there are still a good amount of that fluid still in there.
so its best i change yearly for now and its considered cheap. if you compare it a new car with monthly installment + service in official SC  laugh.gif
*
Yes. I agree with you.

Actually Honda's recommendation to replace at 60,000 km is way too long and a proper procedure at that stage should require 3 time drain and refill procedure.

Since our Honda SC doesn't practice that, a single drain and fill only replaces 30% of the dirty fluid.

Thus, changing the ATF at 20,000 km is highly recommended if we just want to do a 1 time drain-fill.

My car is a used car which i got it on last year May, so maintenance history are unknown
so to track the service records , i done all the necessary change like engine oil, ATF fluid (includes ATF filter change) , Brake fluid, radiator flush and replace.
Only recently ATF fluid change due to faulty 3rd gear solenoid, ATF fluid mileage around 17,000km, also replace the ATF filter along the fluid change.
*
Your current ATF is really dark.. and I mean really really dark.

I would have to suggest you to do a 3 time drain-refill procedure already and monitor from there.

What I would do is to drain the ATF and refill every once a week for 3 weeks. It should replace 90% of the old fluid.

From there on, you will know whether your gearbox is burning up or not.

This process is quite expensive as you need to buy 9 bottles of ATF (make sure it is Honda Genuine DW-1).

This is for the GM6 model and newer. The newer model have CVT oil pan just like Toyota and Perodua.

GM2 / TMO may have one but it is not accessible unless you drop and dismantle your gearbox.

T9A have better access to replace both filter due to they have oil pan configurations

I think you don't need to worry too much about this internal filter. Just replace the external filter is sufficient.

The durability of the TMO gearbox will easily outlast the T9A CVT gearbox by miles...

I've seen TMO owners posted in FB group that they had travelled beyond 600,000 km on the same engine and gearbox. biggrin.gif

My ultimate goal might go for gearbox overhaul if budget allow brows.gif

Before you do that, it's better if you check the price for a half cut gearbox vs overhauling your existing gearbox.

Sometimes putting in the half-cut gearbox makes more sense.

I've replaced both my rear door window moulding.

Bought the Honda original Thailand part costing RM120 a piece.

I DIY-ed and installed it. Seems quite easy to do it.

Once I've taken out the old moulding, can see some parts of the rubber are torn due to wear and tear.

just pull out bare hand?
*
Yes.. to make it easier, you need to wind down the window.

Then pull from the inner side towards the outer side and up.. With a bit of wiggling, it will come off.

I think once you see the way the moulding hold onto the door panel, you will have an idea on how to remove and install it.

If not mistaken got a philips screw holding the moulding ?
*
Yes. At the end of the door.. holding the small window plastic..

Just remove this 1 philips screw, slide out the plastic and you can remove the moulding.

It really is a simple job.

Iinm your mileage quite lower than me, how it can be like this? Your parking lot dont have roof?

I think rubber moulding parts wear and tear don't go by mileage but by years.

10 year plus being abuse by our hot climate, whatever rubber parts will breakdown. If parked under shelter, perhaps can prolong the lifespan.

Mine already 10 years too..but only 2010-2014 park my car in the open lot, then move to house/workplace with shade parking..and maybe during the first 2 years i am quite diligent applied the turtle brand product to all visible rubber part..

The front window molding can last longer but with the rear, the rubber inside the molding will crack. The picture I took was I put slight pressure on it and it tears off easily as it has became brittle.

Try to look at your rear window molding. Are there any cracks along the rubber lining? This is an indication the rubber behind it has started to get brittle too.

I've found that Shopee is selling at a very reasonable price to replace all 4 pieces. If you buy original, it will cost RM120 for just 1 piece!

Hi guys, what brand mounting do you guys use?

user posted image

This looks like need replacing dy right?
*
I went and bought a new RH side engine mounting from spare parts shop last year.

The seller says better to get the OEM Thailand made mounting. If buy all 3 pieces, it will only cost less than RM500.

If buy the Honda original mounting, the price will come close to RM900.

He further said that both are made from the same factory... only difference is one is certified by Honda, one isn't. (means no Honda chop only).

I opted for the OEM Thai made mounting.

Ooh thanks for the reply. Was wondering whether to opt for brands like schmaco for RM4xx. Hingan quoted me RM6xx for ori but I was told by someone else that those are Thai "ori"
*
I recommend you to get the Thai OEM mounting.. can save 200 - 300 bucks for virtually the same thing.. why not? 😁

Today while driving, I noticed my gear shift is very jerky. I suspect my transmission mount KO already.

I checked the fluids and it is pinkish in colour without burnt smell. Fluid is at the correct level.
