Anyone here had experience with aircond hissing noise ? Especially in the morning when start car, pls share 🙏🏻

Looking for recommendation aircond specialist in KL / Cheras area. Thanks in advance
*
Hissing sound is normal. You will also hear if after you switch off the engine.

Repair the aircond only when it is faulty.

does it not bother you that this car does not have a engine temperature gauge?
*
A lot of cars now doesn't come with temperature gauge. Tbh, it is good to have as it allows you to monitor the temp and stop the car even before the engine overheats.

yeah..when its new i dont bother much. now.....not so sure  laugh.gif
i read that there blue light whenever start up and red light. red light means overheat too late dah or what? biggrin.gif
*
Red light means overheat.. die die must stop before severe damage is done.

Since the car is older now, it is better to get a temp gauge to monitor the coolant temp. You'll never know when the radiator fan will fail due to age.

any recommendation on temp gauge ? shopee got sell ?
*
To me, any temp gauge that can plug into the OBD2 port should be good enough.

It's up to your budget. I think those selling on Shopee that cost around RM100 - RM200 works fine.

so i did jack up my car and doesnt wobble.
though i note that doesnt wobble doesnt mean no issue as if wobble means got issue to a certain extent already.

however, good thing is recently one of the road near my area got repave and i notice the wheels are damm silent when going through it.

i guess its my tyres then  laugh.gif
using for close to 2 years i think, michelin xm2.
the front 2 are replaced after GST back to SST, after the tax grace period.
*
XM2 tyres are damn bloody noisy when it gets older. I'm using CC6 which is very comfy and silent but handling isn't impressive.

yeah..handling is what's in my mind.
another is...i wanted to but wasnt sure how long i will be driving this car.
xm2 is pretty long lasting. dry rot and noisy liao but still ada bunga

i'm a bit worried about driving in rain for other tyres.
was thinking to give cc6 a chance but all above make me continue with xm2.

also wanted to try yokohama bluearth es but dunno where available for our size.

Planning to change car?

you may try out Continental UC6 which much better in dry and wet grip
as long is not ecopia ep300 which is noisy when cruising on highway sweat.gif
*
I am currently using CC6 and plan to go for UC6 next.

The UC6 sits between the CC6 and the MC6.

Anyone know what is this? Its right below the filter box.
The tip is like covered with oil, and its the open ended. not attached to anywhere.
Not sure if this is normal.

car no issue for a long time with it like this.
*
That hose is connected to the gearbox. I believe it is a vent pipe for the gearbox. There will be pressure built-up internally inside the gearbox, thus, that pipe is to allow pressure to be vented out from the gearbox.

*
Open ended yes..

Oil stain - mine has got no oil stain wor. Probably you can just wipe the stain off. When was the last time you replaced your ATF?

just before mco.
and also changed the filter last year.
maybe its not "dripping" or "coming out".
just kena before during oil or filter replacement.

i not sure.
*
I wouldn't be too worried about a little oil stain at the hose.

You can try to clean it off and observe to see whether in the future, there's any more oil coming out from that hose.

Quick update guys...

Out of curiosity, I pull out the gearbox vent hose and found the vent hose was clogged up. I have to take a hard wire and poke through the vent to clear the air passage.

You better do the same to clear up the air passage.

or maybe can spray some rubber safe cleaner to the hose to clean up to clog ?
*
Can.. As long as the method works. After cleaning, make sure you blow at one end to verify air can pass through.

The transmission vent hose clogging issue is quite rampant on Honda with CVT transmission. Heard many had their vent cap went missing possibly due to internal pressure being too high till it blew the cap out.

Hi, I bought a second hand city in Jan 2020. Whenever I drive past uneven road, I can feel exactly how is the condition of the road. Is it the sign that the shock absorber needs to be replaced? If so, normally how much does it cost?
*
This version of City GM2 is known for its hard suspension. Anyway, you can bring to a workshop and let them do the checking. Ask them to inspect the absorber, absorber mounting lower arms and other suspension components.

Its an old car, definitely there will be wear and tear and replacement is required.

hello, I was quoted below for KYB absorbers:
1. Front shock absorbers - RM520
2. Front absorber mounting - RM140
3. Front absorber damper - RM140
4. Rear shock absorbers - RM450
5. Labour - RM280
TOTAL RM1530. If using Honda stock absorbers then it will be about RM2200 with the same thing above but with added linkage too.

Should I go with KYB? Or wait for DTOX Shocktober?
*
Using KYB replacement for rm1530 is way way too expensive. Tell that mechanic to F off.

You can actually find other workshop that can offer replacement for around rm700. I however suggest you to try monroe or Sachs.

Do you have any recommendation for the Monroe and Sachs, together with installation and with mount and dampers?
*
Try to message vmag motorsport and see whether they can get those brand and install for you or not.. Most likely can.

its physical. any honda genuine specialist should have it.
i think i got it from Capital Genuine Parts Co., Ltd.

Hingan is another popular one. Its quite huge and supply to quite a number of workshop. I saw their trucks most of the time.
Its just that I dont like the attitude of the worker that served me the only time i'm there.

But, their FB chat is pretty responsive, you can ask the price there. If you dont like calling up any store.
*
Hingan ok ma... I went there many times and they can get what I want. biggrin.gif

still reliable.
except front absorber start giving some noise, but workshop sifu tell can tahan lagi.
so keep using first.

other than that, still strong af.
doesnt look like 7 yr old car at all.
*
Mine 10 year + already lor but with only 117,000km

Normally, I always recommend people to replace worn out parts as soon as possible because using these worn parts might cause other related components to premature damage too. Just go and replace the shocks together with the bushing and absorber links.

Probably you need to inspect and replace the lower arm too if the bushing is crack. Old car, those rubber bushes will give way and crack eventually.

Mine feel unstable starting at 120, the car will move slightly left and right of u don't hold the steering tight enough. Alignment done when I changed my tyres in January.
*
This is a sign of a worn lower arm. An alignment technician once told me to get the lower arm replaced on a myvi because he will not be able to correctly adjust the alignment with a worn out lower arm.

Probably you can look into it.
