I will give u a detailed recommendation.

Firstly, have you ever changed your colling coil before?

Reason I asked is to gauge whether an aircond service is enough, or better off replacing the cooling coil.

Normally cooling coil have a life span, in my case, each lasted exactly 7 years before it leaks refrigerant.

The leaking part, how do you know? What’s the symptom? I have not replace before.

When it starts to leak, you can sort of smell the refrigerant (smells like weird plastic chemical) when you turned on the aircond. After 1 minute, you won't smell it.

Within few days or weeks, your aircond will blow hot air later.

Thanks - cooling coil never replaced and car is from 2011.
No issues with cooling the cabin when air cond is turned on, just that it smells bad like damp cloth)

As a minimum I think need to service or check the air cond system

You can go and do an aircond service my removing the cooling coil and cleaning it.. When you do so, do inspect the condition of the coil as it is more than 10 years old and high chances it will leak refrigerant sooner or later..

Items to look out for is also the expansion valve and the receiver drier.

Where are you staying? I can recommend you my trusted aircond man if you are around Old Klang Road / PJ area.

Reminds me to check my coolant lol thanks.
Although mine become less and less over time and also based on the engine oil blotter thread, the TS there said my engine oil seems to be diluted with coolant, I still feel mine should be okay and “expected”

50ml a month seems excessive.

I found the leak.. seems like previously I changed the bottom casing but the installation of the casing gasket wasn't done properly, thus there are small leaks at rhat area. Will need to send back to the shop to get it repaired again.

finally my ac blower motor gave way.
the only problem is that it gave way just when i'm about to start my journey back from cameron to kl.
3 hours ride, in cameron keep raining, and on highway its cloudy, left the 1 hour remaining the weather is a bit more warm.

grateful the family doesn't complain much.

went to ming wah on monday. damage rm310, boss say need change filter coz dirty. usually i replace myself but was like wtheck nevermind la. give boss a bit more. rm20 only consider cheap by outside mechanic standard.

now very happy. feel like its colder now. maybe previously motor has already been spinning slower than new for a long time.

edit: wtheck, i still have 2 filters in stock at home lol.

Bad decision ever made.. 😝

Should have kept it as spare car as when EV have problems, most likely you can't the car.

I used alot of name brand ATF oil before even 4L for RM250 still cannot fix the jerky issues, only genuine ATF oil from Honda stockist solved it.
price increase all blame the russia faults hahaha
even the oil filter and air filter price also hike ... sweat.gif
