Guys... I have some movies from shared PC (SMB) that is not showing up in KODI. I tried renaming based on IMDB but still not showing up in KODI. I can play smoothly from PC though. Anybody experienced this before? Any solution?

Hi guys, I'm new user on XBMC/Kodi using MiBox. When every time I play a movie using Kodi (on any addons, eg Genesis or Phoenix) after several minutes/seconds, a pop-up advertisement block the entire screen, very annoying & I would like to know where it came from and how to clock this?

Huh i have never seen any advertisement before.
Are u using any subtitles addons?

Can show some pics of the advertisements?
What do u do to close the popup?

Yes, I'm using Open-subtitle or Shooter when playing movie. I have to press "OK" button on the Mi-controller and press again the play button. It happens every minute (about there) after that, very annoying.

Shooter is subtitle addon?
Im using subscene and subtitle.org (unofficial) never have popup, but sometimes may have some ads but just as wordings at subtiltes there (usually during non conversation scene)

My best guess is the subtitle causing it.
Try dont use subtitle whether still same or not.

I notice that the problem is on the MiBox with this new MiBox in the market, Xiao Mi loaded the advertisement in it which I'm still finding the way to clear it. May be root it will be the only way....

Lol that is the mibox screensaver.
But weire it should show if are watching movies..

Go disable screensaver in the Settings
Cant recall where now.just look around u should be able to find it.

U can enable back subtitles

I just found one link related to this with Xiao Mi Box pop up with advertisement when playing movie. Let me try out first if this block the advertisement from appearing and shall update after trying.

Following to my questions earlier, here I attached the screen capture.
In my windows folder i have 37 items
In Kodi only 15 shows up.

Kodi is installed in computer or android box?
I guess the file format are not compatible?

Can't update library from menu?
Or set to auto update library from: System > Setting > Video > Library > Update library on start up

Place each movie in individual folders, reboot system, network & android box.. Launch KODI & update library... You should also look into manual library management using media managers like MediaElch, Ember, MCM, etc. Then set scrapping to be done locally instead from the internet. Ember has a feature to rename movie files and folders in the format KODI easily recognises..

Kodi is installed in android box. Some showed up earlier then disappear.

I did try to refresh and manual update the library but still didnt show up.

genesis is no more updating still can use but more lack resource now

not only genesis, Icefilms and Phoenix also very lacking in sources.

it was all fine 2 weeks ago. Now i get a box just for kodi and this happens.

Sources and addons experience hiccups or disappear from time to time... Its normal... Relax, not like you were asked to pay monthly for the services of others who keep the addons running. In the meantime, torrent or use other sources as normal. Your box isn't useless.

Hi guys, I added the fusion source n those video add on.
But those settings will be missing after a day.
Kodi will be refresh to default. Anything goes wrong with my box or setting?

KODI shouldn't reset itself.. What box are you using and do you manually clear it's cache or could be that some cleanup app automatically does that for you?
